Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Rooms are magnificent, we stayed in the Charles I room. Huge room and lovely Bathroom; bathroom completely renovated. On the High Street and not too noisy. Breakfast was amazing - anything you wanted and more food than one could ever eat. Very comfortable bed, and service from top to bottom was great.

The room was wonderful and cozy. The double bed was comfortable and fit two people well, the shower was big and there was a tv with many apps like disney plus and netflix. However i am not sure they replaced our towels which was the only minor issue we had. The free breakfast was delicious. And the location was perfect, right in the centre of Godalming town. I highly recommend this room to any couple or family.

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights for our wedding anniversary, the room was, very comfortable and well thought out. The main problem we had was with the dining. We had dinner the first night, I had to send my starter back as it was cold and then I was told the pie of the day was chicken but when I cut into it it was ox cheek. We didn’t have breakfast included but decided to treat ourselves on our last morning but we were extremely surprised that we were charged for toast??? We weren’t told we would be charged for it, we’ve never known toast to be an extra especially as pastries were on offer and cereal. It was a very disappointing end to our stay.

we enjoyed a delightful stay at this very characterful old coaching inn. The room was beautifully presented with everything one needed for a very comfortable stay. Next time we stay here we will definitely have breakfast as we were unable to do so due to an early start for a family occasion.

Excellent location, beautiful hotel and very friendly staff. Lovely riverside walk nearby and a very interesting museum in the high street. Would highly recommend a stay here. Have also stayed at The Talbot in Oundle - another excellent hotel.

The hotel appears to have been refurbished and first impressions were good. Check-in was easy and my room, a single, was clean, cosy, and comfortable. It's not a big room but when there's only one of you it's more than adequate. My room was street facing but noise didn't bother me. The room had a desk for working at, tea and coffee facilities, a DAB radio and a radiator that worked. The wardrobe was six hangers which was fine for me. There was also an iron and ironing board in the room. The bathroom was spacious with a large shower and was also clean and modern. The water pressure was not that strong but good enough for showering. I slept well in the, single, bed. The only thing missing for me was the lack of a safe in the room which did make me a little nervous as I was travelling with a couple of laptops. Staff were friendly throughout and the breakfast was simple but excellent. As Godalming is my old home town and I knew the Kings Arms from the 1980's I was pleased to see that it's now fit for the 21st century. One last thing to note is that although there is parking to the rear it's very limited however there is a public car park just 2 minutes walk away although you'll need to pay for that Monday - Saturday.

I needed to stay in Godalming for a couple of nights and chose The Kings Arms for it's central location. What a nice place I chose by happy accident. This place is like a palace. The room, the ensuite, the general decor is all to a very high standard. The choice of breakfast is great and the lady doing the service is charming, very helpful and cheerful. I would definitely recommend staying here.

It was a lovely ambience hotel, and the room was spotless and tidy with lots of amenities. DAB radio, big telly, delightful coffee. The bed was a little stiff, but we liked the pillows. But overall, nine out of 10 would recommend it. We did ask for an extra hour late checkout, which, when requested, we was told would be possible. When leaving, I was informed that there was a £20 charge for that hour checkout which in fact we only had 45 minutes little steep but would’ve liked to have known that it was gonna be a £20 apart from that, very nice
