Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A fantastic stay from start to finish. Lovely spacious room overlooking the Loch, very clean with a comfortable bed. The evening meal was very tasty as was the breakfast The welcome we had was great and made the stay that much better. We had a few drinks on arrival and sat across the road overlooking the Loch, what a perfect setting with a cracking pint. Would recommend The Rockvilla as a place to stay and eat if in the area.

THis was the best stay on our NC500 trip. The accomodation was superb, everything we needed, plain and simple furnishings but classy and stylish. Everyone from Paul (who covered reception and the bar), the owners, all so friendly, so helpful and just great people to share the 'crack' with. The food was to die for, we wanted to go through the menu but only stayed for 2 nights. This is a 'must stop' location for anyone on the NC500 or indeed anyone in the area anyway. Thnk so much guys, we loved it and hope to return. Bonita and Chris

Thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay here. Lauren gave us a lovely welcome on arrival and was very friendly and chatty whenever we met her. Our room was a very good size (room 3) and overlooked the loch out front with dual aspect windows. Nice big comfy bed, with amazingly a picture of the mountain my husband proposed on above it (we were celebrating our wedding anniversary here). Lots of tea and coffee making items (even a coffee machine with pods). Settee and wardrobe for our clothes. The bathroom was roomy too with a large walk in shower (good water pressure). Luxury locally made toiletries provided too. Breakfast was in a lovely big room overlooking the loch. Lots of tea and coffee provided along with cereals/muesli. Our cooked breakfasts were fabulous each morning - very filling with very tasty ingredients. It was a shame the restaurant here was closed, but we were very happy eating at The Bistro a few hundred yards up the road and The Carron just across the loch. There is also a Spar next to The Bistro for any snacks/picnics you may need. A very enjoyable stay here at this very friendly place.

We had a great 3 course meal whilst staying in Lochcarron. The views are beautiful over the loch and surrounding mountains. It has an outside decking area as well for lunch / warmer evenings. We had the cream of parsnip soup & roll which was nice and hot, then the chicken & venison mains which were beautifully presented and very tasty, and finally the sticky toffee pudding which finished off a perfect meal. Lovely building, great service and a nice quiet atmosphere.

The quality of food and service in this family-run restaurant is extraordinary and it would hold its own, not just in Lochcarron, but anywhere in the UK. The chefs have created a really original and well thought out menu that makes the best of the exceptional highland ingredients available locally. It's a great experience for locals and visitors alike. Thank you guys.
