This is a great place to stay when visiting The Granite Belt. We have stayed here before and will do so again. John and Penny are wonderful generous hosts. These are clean, well appointed cottages with great food in their restaurant. The grounds are outstanding too. Sitting out front drinking a local wine as the sun set was magical. Do...

Amazing to find such a gem on the New England Highway; beautiful gardens complete with wistaria; quaint and comfortable cottages (the King Terraces are the pick of the bunch); lovely dining and breakfast areas with ditto food. Delicious dinner of the extremely well cooked home variety - the sort you'd spend days knocking up for a dinner party; brilliant breakfast...

We ate here last week on a Wednesday night (when there's not a lot else open in Ballandean). We really enjoyed our meal and the environment. We had the restaurant to ourselves and enjoyed talking to the chef after a long day visiting vineyards and generally indulging ourselves. A nice way to round off the day....

We had diner here during a recent visit to Ballandean. From booking the table and arranging for a special request for when we arrived nothing was too much trouble > we were met by the owner and shown our table immediately. The menu was not extensive but contained many choices for us , all which we thoroughly enjoyed . Service...

We had a party of 8 (4 rooms)for two nights. The rooms were comfortable and the hosts friendly enough however the chef spoilt the weekend for us. He refused to serve breakfast to one of our group on the first morning because she tried to order at 9:01! Breakfast is only served from 8-9.00. The evening meal was only average...

Hi Mark. Firstly I would like express my sorrow for your disappointment and respond to your comments. I have spoken to our Head Chef and he explained to me that there was no problem with the guest having continental breakfast when she arrived at 9:01 it was 15 minutes later when she decided she wanted a cooked breakfast that the...

Our cottage room was delightful, although not cheap. Only ones in the restaurant tonight. Sorry, chef Steve, you could have gone home if it was not for us, but we hope it was worth staying to cook your absolutely delicious food. Seafood chowder-yum, the steak perfectly cooked and my chicken was delightful. It was great to make your acquaintance and...

8 of us stayed here and all thoroughly enjoyed it. The rooms are simple but very nice and warm and the gardens are well kept. The restaurant is fantastic. The menu has good variety and is not too long. Food was excellent and a very good wine list. The owners and operators cannot be more helpful and friendly. Well worth...

A sound choice for accommodation in Ballendean, these cottages are clean and close to the vineyard action. The grounds are pleasant and despite the closeness to the highway, sound is not a major problem. Unfortunately, the term "kitchenette" apparently means many things to many people. A microwave oven and a sink, to me at least, is not a kitchenette; the...
