We stayed here for 9 nights from 5/9/23. Our first impression was fab location spoiled by initial contact with relief wardens Roy and Cath. Roy ordered us to stay in the car, then as we pulled forward to the head of the queue he commanded that only one of us should book in. My husband did so and was given a prolonged lecture on the 5mph speed limit. We have been members of the CC for 27 years and have never ever been subjected to such an unfriendly and dictatorial greeting. On day 2 we were getting ready to go out when Cath barked at me asking was it our airer sited behind the caravan, one leg on the hard stand and 2 legs 10" onto the 1m grass betwixt rear of pitch and hedge. I said it was and she told me to get it moved off the grass. Very rarely throughout my 70 years have I ever been spoken to in such an aggressive manner and never by CC wardens. We may have got it wrong but there are more pleasant & professional ways to be reprimanded. All I can say is thank goodness the permanent wardens Jo & Craig returned from holidays, the atmosphere changed totally. They were extremely hard working and never without a smile and friendly greeting when passing by. They were a delight and made the end of our stay a pleasurable experience. Had the relief wardens been there for our entire stay I would have awarded the site only 1 star!!

Lovely site. Very well kept. Owners are lovely. Facilities are really good and clean. I only give it 3 stars as there is nothing for children to do and no play park. No ball games are allowed and although there is a playing field its located too far away. My kids werent happy at all. Also it was very expensive to stay. More suited to couples.

Stayed a week at this site. After a six hour journey we arrived ten minutes before the earliest check in time of 1pm. As soon as my wife got out of the car, the warden immediately told her to ‘return to your vehicle’!! Although the site wasn’t anywhere near full, nobody was allowed to be checked in until exactly 1pm. The site itself was very clean as you’d expect from a CAMC site. It is a little out the way of attractions, but we knew that before we booked. However, we would definitely not return due to the rudeness of the two site wardens, which were the most obnoxious we have experienced throughout our 16 years of membership. We were given a full list of ‘do’s and dont’s’ on arrival. We got told off for stepping over a tiny wooden fence which was below knee height!! The warden had great pleasure in telling us he had to ask a family to leave for doing exactly that a few weeks earlier. The whole experience on-site just felt like it put us on edge every time we left our pitch!

I have read some of the negative comments on this page and I'm totally surprised by the negative comments.
We have stayed at this CAMC site on countless occasions over the years and our daughter who is now grown up had many great days as a youngster here.
The site has recently been upgraded and has the facilities you would expect to find on a CAMC site.
The grounds are immaculately kept, much to the credit of the onsite wardens who work tirelessly to keep it looking at its best. The facilities are always spotless and again a credit to the wardens who look after them.
To the people who have posted negative reviews about this site please give your heads a wobble, site wardens cannot always be on hand to offer advice at a minutes notice or when you demand attention just because your on holiday, they also have tasks to be seen to, to keep the site looking at its best and for some of you, if you followed the rules of the club then there would be no excuse to complain.
The wardens were very friendly and approachable and very informative and at no point army like or regimented. If you want to go to a caravan site where everyone can do as they please then please book a private site were anything goes and see how enjoyable your holiday is.
CAMC sites don't appeal to everyone because of their rules and policies but they are there to protect the site and the customers who use them responsibly.
If you want to jump over fences and just drive past reception or light fires and let your kids kick a ball between someone's very expensive caravan and car, exercise your dog off its lead and let it do its toilet business without picking it up then book a non club site.
Rant over but will certainly be booking this site again in the very near future.
And to Jo and her husband who work very hard, keep up the good work.

The site is set in the countryside at Powburn Northumberland. I was greeted by a friendly lady on reception who offered me a cream tea for £1. It was delicious. Really pleased with the grassed area for camping. Even had my own picnic table and hard surface to park. Although busy the site was very quiet and well kept. The facilities are ample clean and modern. Lovely walks around the site near a river and lake. Can definitely recommend. Only 3 pitches on grass with electric hook up.

A small but lovely site. Set in well maintained but not overly “manicured.” Providing a great balance between user and wildlife needs. It even has a little nature reserve in the park area, along with a larger one a short walk from the main gate. It’s quite “out of the way” so be prepared to walk cycle or drive. The cafe at Ingram is lovely (3 miles round trip) the staff were very helpful too

Like KC&The Sunshine Band said " please don't go" this site will ruin your holiday experience. It does not represent NE hospitality and friendliness. After committing the cardinal sin of not stopping at reception when making an unexpected recce ( even though there was no light on in the office and no staff around, and no barrier in place). I was confronted by a female sergeant major type lady who was out on patrol and intent on shouting at me and my girlfriend and our three year old daughter despite our apologies, needless to say I just drove off with her screaming like a banshee behind us. I don't think she realised we holiday makers...I have since sent her some information with regards to her joining the foreign legion..AVOID at all costs!!!

Beautiful CAMC site wardens friendly, helpful and informative of places to go where to eat. There wasn't really anywhere within walking distance for food but was not too far to drive to lots of areas of natural beauty and historical interesting places. If you want to relax in peace and quiet it's just the place a wonderful dog walk as well. I loved it.

We were greeted with a very warm welcome on arrival by friendly and helpful staff. There is a very small camping area for tents, which is in a sheltered section of the site. There is a large shower and toilet block with dish washing facilities. Thrtr is a nice little walk around a pond on site. It's very peaceful and a great location for exploring Northumberland. Would definitely recommend this place.

Having read some reviews and being a 58 year campervan virgin, I was a bit nervous about how this would go. I fessed up on check in and made a few return trips to buy stuff I had left at home - mallet and pegs! The staff quickly got them measure of me and could not have been more helpful. Craig and Jo went above and beyond, especially when I attached my awning which was big enough to be seen from outer space. It's now up for sale if anybody is in the market for an Olpro 2-bed Hive 😀 . Got friendly advice about allowable sizes which will save me heartache in future. Really sparkling amenities, well maintained and a beautifully placed location to strike out to many local sites of interest. We got to Ingram Valley and Chillingham Castle (no dogs allowed at the castle, so if you have one, save your petrol - you can't even walk through the woods with a dog). Sunday lunch at the Tankerville Arms (Eglingham) was fantastic.
