Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Comfortable chalets, nicely spread out. Large traditional build dining/bar area which was stunning with a view over a rock which was visited by a selection of animals. Very obliging staff. Good food. Ideas to improve? Well the breakfast coffee was a bit ‘stewed’ and could be improved. And in the room the mosquito net is around 3 sides of the bed, omitting the wall side. This would be ok but the window, cleverly made of bottles, had gaps between the bottles and mozzies got in so I had a few bites. A bit of mastic would seal those gaps. Overall though this is a great lodge. Quite busy but big enough to cope with that. Would happily stay here again.

We liked it so much here that we stayed twice! Firstly we spent New Year's Eve and Day here and then we stayed on our way back to Entebbe. I struggle to think of enough superlatives - this place is just perfect. We loved the rooms (we had Hornbill 5 and Monkey Cottage) - comfy, cool and the showers were great. The baboons and monkeys in the mornings were a bonus. The staff were brilliant - combining that wonderful Ugandan charm with efficiency. The main building is fab - great views and chances to see wildlife together with comfy sofas and free tea and coffee. We did an early morning bike tour with Eddie - so amazing to see in the new year by cycling through the mists to see giraffe and zebra just a few metres away. I felt like I was leaving home when we finally departed. Thank you all so much, Charlie Vicki and Will x

This was the busiest lodge we stayed in on our trip, and I can see why. Set on top of a hill overlooking Lake Mburo National Park and the surrounding farmland it is a fantastic place to relax between game drives. The meals were all excellent, the staff friendly & polite, and the cocktail list extensive - Which was welcome on the final night of our time in Uganda. There are plenty of places to relax from comfortable seating in the main area, benches looking out at the view, Sun loungers by the pool, hammocks dotted around, even a large swing seat on top of the rock. The walking Safari early on our last morning was one of my favourite activities of the whole trip. So atmospheric walking with the animals on a misty morning at sunrise!

The view from the lodge was really nice. You could watch all kinds of animals while eating or chilling on the couch. (According to our guide, there are even more animals around during the dry season). The rooms were clean and nice. I particularly liked the extremely friendly staff. This accommodation is really recommendable.

Beautiful peaceful surroundings. Excellent service and quality delicious food. Accommodations are good and variety of options. Only issue, mattresses are not comfortable and need to be upgraded. But we're coming back again next month. Safaris available. We saw zebras, monkeys, impalas, kob, hyrax, snakes, warthogs and more. And too many birds to list! Bring the binoculars!

Stayed for 2 nights at the lodge .. the staff were excellent especially Linus on the front desk who went out of his way to be helpful . We stayed for 1 night in hornbill house.. which were good value for money , with comfy beds and a good shower . The only slight downside was the accommodation had very little natural light . The second night we were upgraded to a fabulous room ( python ) . There is a great viewing point to watch sunrise at the hotel . Food was excellent especially breakfast .. the hottest breakfast we have had in 3 weeks .. we would also highly recommend the walk to see the dairy farm and milking .. our guide was extremely informative

We stayed in the Mangoose cottage. Very nice and quite handy (close to the parking area, etc). Overall the lodge has a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. it's a good alternative to other lodges in the area. the staff were all super friendly and very professional. 5 starts there! Food/menu could be improved a bit (e.g. please consider more variety for breakfast) but overall we eat well.

I loved our stay at Rwakobo Rock Lodge. The room was clean, had hot showers, and adequate toilets. The restaurant served delicious meals. All the staff at Buffalo Safari Lodge were the best. Everyone there was pleasant, helpful, and friendly. I loved the African decor, beautifully decorated. The views from the dining area and our bungalow were spectacular. Thank you for a wonderful time.

This is the only lodge during our 7-night safari tour that was a letdown. The lodge feels like it’s run by an corporate American bean counter. All the other lodges exuded warmth, hospitality and exceeded our expectations. The staff here felt uninterested, disengaged and lacked the usual Ugandan warmth. The food was lackluster, lacking in flavor, selection and portion size. We did enjoy the stunning views of the safari plains from the unique standalone rooms, thoughtfully designed although the bedding was like sandpaper.

Beautifully located lodge on top of a rocky outcrop. Excellent food and spectacular setting for our last dinner in Uganda. Rooms and bathrooms are nicely appointed. Very close to the Nshara Gate of the park - very convenient for a morning foot safari/nature walk.
