The service was okay, some of the staff were kind and friendly but don't communicate that well. The reception can be a bit rude sometimes , I don't know if we just misunderstood her or thats how the way she communicate. The room has a weird smell coming from the air-condition. Breakfast was nice , we enjoyed it.
Around the hotel there were many local restaurants that serves Thai cuisine and many more. You just choose!
Location is just before you enter the National park gate. You have to pay 200 thai baht to enter and you'll get ticket for about 5 days. Once you get the ticket you can go back and forth to the park just remember to bring it with you every-time because the guards are very strict. Then you can go directly to the beach which was really nice (white sand ) , or you can rent a scooter in front of the Chilli hotel to visit other beach location in the island (i highly recommend doing this).

This hotel is a mid size hotel with a restaurant downstairs, located just before the entrance gate of the natural park. Rooms are new, reasonably clean and spacious. Prices for both rooms and restaurant are fair.
The beach is just 5 minutes by walk, while there are plenty of shops all around.
All facilities are quite new, but there is lot of construction going on outside. The hotel is also on the main street, and therefore basically everyone entering the park and/or going to the beach from the pier has to transit in front of the hotel.
Staff is nice and friendly. It might be improved in the restaurant, where they often do not deliver the same dishes you order...
No need to take or wait for a taxi from the pier. It is just a 10 minutes walk, but of course it depends from the size of your luggage...

Stayed here only one night after finding out in the morning that breakfast was not included in our room rate of 1,200BHT and you can stay directly on the beach for the same price.

The room was clean but shower was so basic. You are provided the cheapest form of soap and shampoo from soap dispenser in the bathroom, such as the ones in public toilets.

The hotel is in the centre of bars and shops but 500m walking distance to the beach, therefore, we made a brief search of other hotels and bungalows on the beach and moved on after one night.

Also be aware that most rooms do not have windows but glass doors opening to the hallway.

Would never come back at this price tag.

Food average priced. Service was absolutely terrible. My meal was served 45 minutes before my husbands with no explanation or apology despite asking several times what the hold up was. The food itself wasn’t worth the wait and the “chicken” was fatty. Would never return on the basis the staff did not welcome or thank us for the visit, basic manners.

We would not stay there. The rooms downstairs are smelling mould so badly. We left the same evening, after finding another place to stay. We had booked and paid 2 rooms for 2 nights via Agoda. The hotel did not refund anything. Hopefully Agoda does. Did not feel nice place otherwise either.

My husband and I ate here two nights in a row. The first night we had a very attentive waiter, that was awesome. He brought us everything we asked for very quickly. The second night he was not working but Mr. Attitude was. We ordered 3 dishes. One of the dishes we ordered was #40, they brought us #41. When we told them that was not what we ordered the waiter was beligerant and said he confirmed it was #41 before he placed the order. He then became insistent that we pay for it anyways. My husband gave up the argument and asked them to just bring the #40 now (this was my dinner). It never came, when we spoke to him again he went back to the tangent of 41 vs #40 my husband told him we were past that and simply had asked for them to also bring #40. We ended up leaving, me without having dinner, as he walked away and would not get food for me. This was not a language barrier, this was an attitude problem.

Stayed for three days, the room was very clean, the breakfasts were ok, wifi was good. You really get what you pay for, you cant expect more than a clean room and place to stay on an island such as this unless you are paying for a high end resort. Was ok for the money.

In my situation with my visiting group, we were the hard customers to deal with, having had reserved incorrect dates. The worker at the desk was very sweet and gave us a room for the online payment anyways. But not only this, they even helped return, to where I was staying in Bangkok, a phone/wallet I had forgotten in a rental motorbike of another shop! Besides all of this, it was a good stay for a good price, with a local-like restaurant that contained a large variety of Thai food. If I go back to Ko Samet, I am definitely staying at this place again, knowing that the employees there really do care about their guests and their stay!

We stayed at one of the guest houses, not the hotel. The guest houses are a hundred meters or so from the main hotel. The guest house we stayed in had two bedrooms with a shared bathroom and small balcony. The bedroom had a good A/C plus a wall fan, which kept the room comfortable (cold, if we lowered the temp setting). The room also had a nice-size refrigerator and flat screen TV. The bathroom & shower is Thai style but had warm running water via electric wall heater (on-demand-type). The water pressure was low, which made rinsing off a bit of a challenge but nothing to complain about unless you are in a hurry. The tap water was also a bit dark; to our surprise, we discovered that the tap water tanks are filled, at least partially with rain water collected from the roof-top run-off. It didn't smell bad or leave anyone with a rash or problem so kudos to the hotel for being "Green!!!"

Other than that, the staff was fantastic. They met and picked us up at the boat dock (in a local motorcycle with side-car) and took us to the guest house. Breakfast was not included but was ate lunch & breakfast at the hotel restaurant just down the road. The Thai food was tasty and not too expensive. Western style breakfast (eggs, toast, bacon) was ok. Staff at the restaurant was super friendly.

This is an very economical option for those on a budget and/or if visiting with a large group of family/friends. Its not the cleanes and certainly not the prettiest. We spent most of out time out on the beach and were really only in the guest house to shower & sleep. We'll definitely stay again in the future!!
