Wonderful hotel ran by family - it already gives cozy atmosphere. We stayed in main building I don’t know what kind of room was it, but it had almost 2 rooms inside (separated by sliding door), yet it’s not a full suite. Staff is very friendly and helpful, especially bar guys. Very nice location - if you want some quiet time and lots of nature. We absolutely enjoyed that literally straight after hotel started several trails, amazing river and lots of free nature. Room was comfortable and good, however not so new furniture. But no complaints here. It was spacious and great. The toilet separates from bathroom an maximally distanced from bed - I find it very convenient if you don’t want to wake your partner at night! Max only complaint here are: nothing at mini bar and no tea/coffee cattle and cups in the room. I Love enjoying my tea before sleep and don’t want to go to restaurant each time for a cup, especially after evening shower and changing. The spa area is just marvellous. One of the best I’ve been to, and I’ve been to quite many also in 5* hotels. Here everything was just wonderful. Very spacious, so you’d never find it too crowded. 2 standard saunas (indoor and outdoor) + 2 special ones (inside). The spacious swimming pool with panorama view at glacier and a little natural pond with refreshing f water Just next to outdoor sauna. Massages were very good. Food was great. But I noticed some lack of fresh vegetables for breakfast - like simple cucumbers. However the variety of more expensive fruits was great. Even the daily “light” lunch actually gives you quite different opportunities for a full big meal. Dinners were glorious. The way of serving also highe class! You’d need a car there but I guess almost no one arrives there without it anyway. The village around though is quite sleepy and small, so don’t expect any attractions around besides the stunning nature (as for me, all you need. Though, at rainy cold days might be a bit challenging). All in all again it was fantastic and I am happy we stayed there and spent lovely 2 weeks.

Love the Hotel since many years. It gets better every time. Kitchen was always exceptional. But the Hotel amenities slowly grow towards a 5 star Hotel. I will come back every year. It’s located conveniently with Bus stop front door, next to the superior glacier

We visited Alpinhotel Berghaus in Tux for the second time. We stayed in a brand-new Green Living apartment. The apartment is very nice: excellent luxurious shower, good kitchen, qualitative (soft) bed. Our room was on the backside which was very quiet. Our room was cleaned exceptionally well. The breakfast buffet is stunning: many choices and a different selection every day. The afternoon 'Jause' consists of soup, a warm meal and some fruit and cake. Dinner is very good, you can choose your appetizer, soup and main dish (two options). The culinary standard is pretty high. The restaurant staff is very competent. A special mention to waiters Paul and Davor for their friendly and personal service. The lady of the house is very friendly and helpful. You can always find her somewhere on the property. The wellness area is stunning: great bean bags and rocking chairs, a sauna and large indoor pool with view on the glacier. We enjoyed our stay a lot. We like that the hotel is constantly innovating. As for the Tux Tal: it's amazing. You can choose from many walking routes: easy, moderate, hard. All routes are collected in a free booklet, and at the Zillertal Tux website you can find all gpx files for the walking trails. There's no place in Austria with better free information on the walking trails. Family B (Belgium)

My friend and I traveled to this area to ski in Hintertux. It was a great location, very close drive to the gondola. The hotel was beautiful, and we really enjoyed our time there. The spa area and dinner were wonderful. Ulrike was so accommodating and understanding, really made the experience even better. I originally made the reservation on booking for a suite, but my friend and I needed a cheaper priced hotel room. She was able to waive the cancellation fee from booking, and help me rebook a room at a great price range. The amount of stress she saved me was truly appreciated. Thank you Thomas and Ulrike for everything!

The Berghaus is at a perfect spot close to the glacier right at a Bus station that takes you in minutes to the ground station. It’s a family owned business that makes you feel like friends. Enjoy the bar after dinner with Hotel guests and even locals. Brand new Spa makes bad weather a blast. Classic and brand new rooms available for several needs and budgets. Private parking lot, a new zero emissions house are more than one usually expects. Large breakfast buffet, great coffee, local and global foods.

This hotel is the perfect blend of Austrian charm and modern amenities. Our room was very spacious and the cleaner was very thorough. The view from our hotel room was stunning! We booked half board for our stay. The dinner is of very high quality and you have quite a variety of options to choose from between dishes. We also really enjoyed the jausen. The bar is welcoming and the service is very friendly. Breakfast is plenty, the eggs made to order are tasty, there is even a juicer for healthy drink options. We chose not to skiing on the glacier but went for walks everyday and the area is absolutely worth a visit. Starting at the hotel there are a lot of walking paths clearly indicated with yellow signs. We did several hikes with beautiful flora, waterfalls and stunning views. We are huge sauna fans and the sauna area is fantastic!!! The panorama sauna is beautiful, the Finnish sauna is nice and hot and the relaxation room with waterbeds is so relaxing. Great place to feel completely at ease. The pool is beautiful and nice and warm. This hotel is really worth a visit.

The last day at the hotel they left us a survey in which at the end they asked us: what would you like to improve? Our answer would be another question: can perfection be improved? ... Really everything was perfect, from the facilities , very nice, comfortable and extremely clean and tidy, also the Spa and pools are great and wonderful. The staff is extraordinary, super friendly and helpful, they perfectly cover even the smallest detail. Exquisite breakfast and excellent dinner with a variety of options for all tastes. We totally recommend Bergahus!

We spent 8 days in Alpinhotel Berghaus in September 2021. We have been travelling to Austria for over 20 years and this is the first hotel that ticks all the boxes for us: location, rooms, spa, service & food. It is therefore the first hotel we want to visit again in the future. Location: the hotel is located in Madseit, but very close to Hintertux (30 minutes on foot, 5 minutes by car). Right near the hotel there are several 'yellow arrows' marking the start of a hike. The hotel is surrounded by meadows and fields. In Madseit there is no supermarket or bank, which means it is very calm and quiet. If you already did all the hikes that start in Madseit, you can easily go to Hintertux or Juns where you will find many more hikes. At night, Madseit is quiet: there is no street noise or partying kids. Rooms: we had the XL room and it was amazing. The bathroom is very luxurious with a large modern bath, enormous shower and bluetooth music system. The bathroom can be heated with the towel rack, which is a nice touch. The room has two TVs: one in the bedroom and one in de living room. We appreciated that. The separate bedroom was great and provided extra sound-proofing so you don't wake up when someone takes the elevator or runs through the hallway. A small point of criticism: the showergel in the bathroom came in little plastic containers, it would be better for the environment to use a large refillable container. Spa: the spa is great, especially the view from the indoor pool and the garden is breath-taking. There is a sauna in the garden with glacier view, the experience is great. The indoor pool has a very comfortable temperature (warm) and there is also a built-in bubble bath in the pool. Relaxing in the garden is a very calming experience. Food: the food is really good. Breakfast is luxurious with many choices, the afternoon snack is good (what you need after a hike) and dinner is great. The chef clearly knows what (s)he is doing and is not afraid to use difficult techniques and special taste combinations. On most days we loved the dinner from beginning to end. Service: the staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. They take the time to get to know you and anything goes: whatever you like, they will try to get it for you. You cannot go wrong by choosing this hotel!

Response from Hotel Berghaus, Inhaber at Alpinhotel Berghaus spa
Responded 26 Oct 2021
Hallo, Thank you for this detailed and super great review. We are very satisfied that you were able to spend a wonderful holiday with us at the Berghaus spa and that you can recommend us to others. We will continue to try our best so that our guests can have a nice and relaxing holiday in Madseit. With regard to shower gels and body lotion in the bathrooms, we would like to inform you that we currently have to use up our old inventory. After that there are only refillable shower gel and body lotion containers. So we would like to make a very small contribution to avoid polluting the environment even more. We hope to see you again soon. Stay healthy and we will send you warm greetings from Tux Ulrike & Thomas Fankhauser and our super nice Berghaus team

This place made me feel like home. The rooms are spacious, tidy and have a nice view. Special highlight is the pool and the outside sauna combined with the naturbad area is beyond imagination. Furthermore, after dinner the bar is very cozy. Close to the skilift and starting point of various beautiful hiking trails.
