We stayed at this hotel for a few days and overall the experience was great. The staff and service was very good also. The hotel is ideally situated for Diest, it is in the center. Its is a lovely little town. We enjoyed it very much.

We went for a 4 day stay to visit relatives. My son had to book 2 rooms as he was told that rooms only held 2 people but one of their rooms an adjoining room with a bed settee in which would have been suitable for his 11 year old twins but he had to pay for 2 rooms instead of one. Breakfast was adequate but on day 3 coffee machine broke so no coffee. When we went down on our last morning still no coffee so l said haven’t you even got instant. She went off and came back with a pot of coffee and said this is all we have got and that is it.Also on the last morning there were 4 English tea bags between 8 of us. Staff are indifferent and reception not always maned. Not geared up for English people

Firstly, make sure that you get/have EXACT directions to this place, do not depend on satnav! The Lodge is tucked away up a small pathway that my taxi driver couldn't get to because every road seemed to be pedestrianised, or blocked by bollards. There are no signs to tell you that you have arrived. I arrived at 9:30pm to find the lobby dark and locked, even though they said that it was open and staffed until 10pm. I finally found my keys and made my way around the hotel. There were zero staff, anywhere, I even shouted as loud as I could and nobody responded. My room was clean and warm but dated and lit by dull bulbs. The WiFI didn't work in my room, and had no one to call to fix it. The TV had 3 channels that worked, everything else wan't tuned in. So all-in-all I had a very quiet night. Breakfast was ok, and served in a pokey little room. The Lodge has the feel of a large family home, that the family can no longer afford, but don't want to leave. Their answer, change to a hotel and rent out some of the rooms. The only reason this gets a 2 star rating from me is because it was quiet, warm and clean. Otherwise this is a 1 star establishment.…

Arrived at this hotel because of a big hold up in Belgium and many diversions so decided to stay rather than carry on with our journey. The price was exorbitant considering there is really no reception as such and no hotel facilities. However, the town of Diest is very nice and we were able find a nice restaurant for dinner. The room in the hotel was adequate and wifi worked better than some. The breakfast was vast and very, very good. It seemed as though we were the only people there and they had laid breakfast out for about 20.

When we arrived at this hotel at 7:30 on a Saturday evening, it was locked and dark. We were given a key code to enter which didn't work, so eventually a janitor let us in and gave us a room key. The room was dark, with a single window facing a brick wall less than a meter away. The bathroom had no toilet paper. We wanted to ask at the front desk about fixing these problems, but the hotel is not staffed. It was like staying in a youth hostel at hotel priced

I booked a "castle-room". When I arrived in the early evening, reception was not staffed but I found a pouch with my key and a brief letter that informed me about room change due to no warm water in other rooms. The room I got had neither a wardrobe nor any coathanger hence no possibility to hang my garment. Nightmare for a business trip. Interior - bed, couch and desk was extremely worn and badly need to be exchanged. No WiFi access View to the licing room in neighboor house ( distance around 3 meters ) Breakfast was acceptable

We spend the weekend in Diest and booked the lodge, we stayed in the old side of the hotel as they are rebuilding the new side. The rooms were old cosy rooms with wooden floors and old furniture, the bed was ok. The breakfast was good with everything one can expect, bacon, eggs, ....... We paid 105 euro's for the B&B, in that price they included 2 drinks p/p from mini bar. Internet was free and OK

It was my second time when I choose to stay at this hotel. Rooms are big enough with large bathrooms. Hotel location is fantastic and you can easy take a walk to visit Old town Diest. Breakfast was plenty of different choices (including for vegetarians).
