Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Room is minuscule, sliding door to bathroom barely works. Can’t check-in till 5:30 pm as reception is closed and locked. Breakfast is 11E, which is well above the average in the area as I asked around. We booked last minute and had limited choice but I’ve stayed in the area before and can tell you that you can find far better for the price. Nice on the outside, but low-quality inside

So we thought we had half board at this hotel but there was no choice at dinner just an ordinary pate for entre, omelette for mains and strawberries for dessert. Worst meal ever. Poor service. Such a contrast to our hotel in Souillac

Nice reasonably priced hotel with friendly owner, in a nice village on the Dordogne. There's a bar opposite with friendly locals. I'm saying that as a plus point as its quiet and wouldn't affect your stay at Le Grangier. We were travelling through but this would be a good base for exploring the area.

Lovely hosts. Made us very welcome and nothing too much trouble. We had room no 1 all new and very nice. The only problem for us was the bed was very hard. Great if that's your thing but we prefer a soft matress. Unfortunately we didn't sleep at all well. Had dinner here the first night. Really nice food. I had duck breast in peach sauce and my partner had steak. Really nice food. Breakfast was also very nice. Help yourself and a nice coffee machine. Swimming pool was very nice but not heated, so you need to be brave to use it.

This hotel is short on air conditioning but long on friendly people and in a great location. Only a few miles off the main motorway and in a lovely village with a lively evening and sunday lunch trade. The management (Bernard and Veronique) try really hard to make you welcome despite not speaking English. Breakfast is basic but wholesome and its lovely to sit outside and watch village life go by. Great spot for a stopover or indeed a longer visit. I will go again.

We stayed for one night whilst on a cycling holiday around the Dordogne. We wished we could have stayed longer. As a family of 4 we were given a suite on the first floor with two separate bedrooms. Everything about the stay was wonderful, the room was very clean and comfortable, the pool was goo for adults and children alike and was very well maintained. Food was eaten outside under the shade of the trees and the service, quality of food and the friendliness of the staff were all first rate. Overall a great place to stay - highly recommended..

This was our second visit to Le Grangier, we only stayed two days each time but both times have been very good. The rooms are well decorated. Breakfasts very pleasant (would have prefered better jam, as we had homemade jam on our 1st visit).Lovely pool area to relax in.Apart from breakfast we did n't eat in the hotel restaurant as we went to Le Capriorne next door.Hotel is in a good position for sightseeing.Overal a lovely minibreak.
