We travelled to this particular hotel with Lodges Coaches for a Christmas market weekend. Arriving in the afternoon. We had sufficient time to clean up have a drink in the bar before dinner. Dinner was self service you had a choice of dishes including soup, hot mains, cold meats and cheese. The wine is served by the waiters and allocated...

I stayed there yesterday, room 405, this is The worst hotel of the years, noisy, a electricity generator is at the front of the window, and impossible to sleep. the room is small, the bed is cheapest version that you can buy. Tourist trap.

I travelled with a coach party. This hotel is an historical building with a modern annexe. We had rooms in this section - large, very clean and well appointed but similar to all tourist hotels in Europe, including the UK. The buffet dinners were disappointing as the food was often cold - and there was no tea or coffee available...

Hotel is very clean well run and I would say basic-not much better than a Premier Inn. The biggest problem we experienced was the lack of vegetarian food and understanding what this means. On two evenings we were informed that the soup was vegetarian but on both occasions we found meat floating in it!! Breakfasts were okay but again you...

Very well situated for visiting the charming town of Monschau. The rooms are nice and there is free WiFi. Ask for a room at the front as those at the back are very dark as they are close to a wooded hill although you do see the odd deer. Breakfast was good but the dinner buffet was inconsistent. The food...

There is insufficient parking for all rooms at this hotel, so get there early. Parking, both on street and hotel parking must be paid for (environment area). The staff are very helpful and friendly. Rooms are excellent, the bed very comfy, and bathroom very clean and a good size. Bar and restaurant very good. The food is buffet (dinner and...

Positive: a nice, comfortable clean room; free Wlan; friendly, helpful staff; pool and sauna fine; pleasant bar; good breakfast Negative: although a 4star hotel, the evening buffet was extremely poor and no way 4star - salads were repetitive and soggy, the main dishes on offer were tasteless, vegetables overcooked and more like a canteen ( though not as good as...

We have visited this hotel a few times before and we were here during Easter. It was again very nice with the pool, sauna and breakfast and dinner, both buffet. Although this hotel is visited often by 60+ we like it there very much.

Decided to stay in Carat hotel while on our 3-day stay in wonderful Monschau. Swimming pool was not so big as expected, and parking costs 7 EURO per day, so to avoid this fee you have to park on the street across hotel, parking there is free from 19:00 to 9:00. Pillows in this hotel were the worst I've ever...

Very clean hotel with friendly staff. Spacious room overlooking hillside at back of hotel. Two deer and a red squirrel were spotted from the window. Food is very good but don't expect fried eggs for breakfast! Gentle stroll down the hill takes about 15 minutes to reach the square at the bottom of the town. Architecture is amazing. Some shops...
