The hotel and restaurant are established in medieval looking set of buildings. The interior is rustic, lots of wood and countryside type of furniture, against the backdrop of the old water mill. Rooms in similar style, spacious, modern bathroom, good heating and fresh air. No aircoditioning. Perfect in ambiance. There are some impracticalities though, which the hotel should really reconsider...

When did you ever arrive at a large hotel to discover the only person on site was a cook had no idea when the owner/ receptionist would appear and couldn't check us in? We had to wait over an hour until the next 'shift' arrived. She was good, efficient and spoke English well. When we checked out the receptionist had...

Centrally located in the middle of the most beautiful section of the Rhine River is this Gem of a Hotel. Our room was located to the rear of the property that overlooks the garden. The room was very clean, quiet and comfortable. We had a magnificent dinner at the Weissen Schwanen. Sanja and Nadine made us feel welcome and even...

Quaint property, with interesting artwork and artifacts. However, there was never anyone at the front desk, except during checkout times. To check in, you have to search high and low to find someone to help, and that involves several buildings on both sides of the street. Towels were a valuable commodity it seems, difficult to come by clean ones. The...

This hotel is a restorated windmill, which is still there and functions (if you push a button). We got an excellent room, with a great bed, a bit dark though, but that was part of the charm. Very clean, good bathroom and you could stroll in the hotel, as if it's a museum (which it is actually). Breakfast was superbe,...

The Landgasthof Zum Weissen Schwanen, of all the places I have been in Europe most captured my heart and soul! It is in Braubach, Germany, the home of the oldest and most preserved castle of Germany. We went on a trip up the Rhine to celebrate my birthday and our wedding anniversary on one of the river cruises that travels...

Hotel-Landgacthof Zum Weissen Schwanen. The hotel is a very old watermill and today museum and hotel. We liked that very much although it was not the castle we booked. It actually turned out to be an excellent stay with very nice staff, historical room in a museum where the old water mill wheel was turning around and various rooms were...

If you are looking for an ancient place that embodies the history of its use and surroundings, this historical hotel is charm personified with small and more lare-scale feaures and furnishings - from paintings to mill features - that covers the entirey of its existence and the town in which it sits. It also has marvelous views of the castle...

The physical hotel itself was amazing. You get to stay in an old 14th century mill. We also got an antique canopy bed to sleep in. Unfortunately, the service was terrible. The desk staff were simultaneously working as waiters, so were hard to find. I also asked for hypoallergenic sheets, and they made me put them on the bed myself....

First, we arrived on a Sunday and searched for someone to "check us in". This was OK, but a little confusing. The hotel just does not look the same when you arrive as it does in the photo! The room was small, but sufficient and clean. Sheets were clean but "itchy -- felt as if they were stiff from over-washing!...
