Pet friendly- Lots of open spaces for your dog. Room large but very basic. White wash, & blue curtains. No luxury. Do not have any room near the open restaurant- noisy all the time! Food rating average which is very disappointing. Avoid pizza! No activities are organised in the hotel. Nothing to do, so each guest left to their own. Swimming...

One of the best hotel in Vulcano. If you check pictures from website, they fully reflect the reality of the resort. Very clean and comfortable room (#409) with a big bed, enough space in the room and nice bathroom. The staff is very professionnal, smily and nice (from the person in charge of the garden and the pool, cleaning ladies,...

We spent few days in the resort and found it sufficient, well equipped but not meeting the standards of a four stars hotel. Staff is friendly and available, we appreciated very much the style of rooms and outdoors. Cleaning service is efficient. However, the resort offers nothing more than pool and accomodation, and even breakfast is disappointing in quality and...

As a family of four we were looking for a child friendly, safe resort as we have a child and a baby. We stayed at Mari del Sud for the first week in June and thoroughly enjoyed it. To get there, Catania airport to the Milazo ferry terminal by car is about 1:30 hours. There are a number of ferries...

Well, the Management had a point, But the fellow holiday makers, are simply not very tlerant. So, The Only Resort Restaurant they have, is simply not up to scratch. And if you want to go there for any length of time, as a couple, (and a bit spoilt) you will simple not find it very enjoyable!!!!!!No Service, amenities, good, staff...

Magnificent place: large green area and pool, cosy restaurant on a shore of bay, great white rooms with portugese-like tiles, there is a tadelact-type rooms (with some copying of moroccan style). Pros: great light interior and exterior design reminding of Morocco/Portugal/Cyclades, best breakfast (tomatoes only at request for some reason) among a week stay on different Eolian islands, fresh cappuccino;...

Hotel is walking distance from port, but there is also hotel minibus waiting when you get off from ferry. (when we got off from boat I was taken aback by sulphur odor, it's from therapeutic sulphuric mud, don't worry not all island smell like that) Hotel does not have sandy but stony beach witch umbrellas and chairs, remaining part of...

Wonderful, relaxing, everything we expected and more. My husband and I spent three nights of our honeymoon at the Mari Del Sud. They have lovely resort grounds. It is on the side of the island that is NOT stinky with sulfur. Thank goodness. The pool was clean, the room was comfortable with a private bathroom and patio and the staff...

It was difficult to tell from previous reviews what to expect from our stay. I was travelling with my three small children. We called 15 minutes before the hydrofoil arrived and the mini bus was waiting at the port to greet us. Checkin was fast and we were shown to the junior suite. I'm not sure why it was categorised...

The grounds of this hotel are amazing, like paradise! The pool is also fab. Breakfast was nice, but expected it to be better. Very handy location with a private walkway to the beach. The room was very smelly, which was expected as it is on Vulcano. However, it was a very weird smell, which we could not get anywhere else...

Dear orange63, we are glad you enjoyed our Resort. The tipic smells of the island depend on the current: the volcano is behind our facility and sometimes comes the smell of sulfur, often confused with other smells. Considering the heat of July, maybe the air conditioning was weak for you, used to living in cold places. Despite this, we hope...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our resort is entirely surrounded by green, behind the famous Black Sands Beach and in perfect harmony with the surrounding environment. Mari del Sud Resort in Vulcano Island enjoys a privileged position allowing our guests to enjoy the unusual and fascinating sight of contrast between the deep blue sea and the magmatic colors of the background. The village has been recently expanded and entirely renovated. With a direct access to the sea, it includes low buildings separated by gardens and dotted with green passageways naturally framing the structure.
