This was our third stay and fourth visit to Locanda. Their rooms are expensive but very beautiful. The staff brought our luggage from the car and started a fire in our living rooms fireplace. This was much appreciated as they hadn't turned on the heat prior to our arrival and it was quite cool in the late afternoon rain. Beds are... More

I stayed in Locanda in September 2016 with my wife. We got the Tower Room which comprises of 3 stores. Living room, bedroom and a bathroom in the third. All of them with a marvelous view to a vineyard. Service, location, property (two restaurants, fantastic garden, swimming pool, adega) were all very good. Reception staff very knowledgeable and willing to... More

We spent 5 days here with other couples on an anniversary trip. The location is in rural Tuscany, about 35 minutes from Sienna and 20 min from Montepulciano. Beautiful grounds, typical old Tuscan architecture, large well appointed rooms, excellent restaurant. What also stood out was the service- the entire staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. The staff... More

check-in experience was good. The rooms we got were super big and clean. Very serene experience by the pool, vines and olive groves. Breakfast was good and varied. We also had dinner there at both of their dinner restaurants and both had good food. Staff are very friendly and helped guide out visits to Montepulciano and Cortona. They also recommended... More

The building and grounds are spectacular, but the location was as remote as could be, the rooms were clean, but a let down in that they were very old and somewhat cold feeling with dumpy mattresses and 1950s television. The pool view was nice and very quiet -- only ones there. The location was in the middle of nowhere and... More

This was our second visit to this property. We celebrated our ten year anniversary at the hotel. It was romantic and quaint in every way. The property is what you dream a Tuscan experience should be - historic buildings nestled among olive trees in the Tuscan countryside with a view that will take your breath away. We traveled with two... More

we were delighted with our 2 night stay here: absolutely gorgeous and without the pretension of similar luxury places. Be sure to enjoy lunch in the garden, the infinity pool with views directly on the gorgeous landscape, walking the grounds. Rooms generous and lovely. The staff were incredibly friendly and gracious, as though they were inviting us to their home

We stayed at Amorosa for 3 nights in June and had a wonderful time. We rented a car from Rome after exploring it for a few days and arrived at the hotel for lunch, then spent the afternoon relaxing by the beautiful pool - much needed after plenty of walking in Rome the prior days. On our two full days... More

This luxury rural (but within reach of a train station) Tuscany hotel is embedded in the remains of a small medieval village. There's even a tiny, deconsecrated church. Regarding "luxury", note that the staff just isn't large enough to fawn over you all the time, and there isn't an exercise room. (You'll have to settle for signing out a bicycle!)... More

Stayed here for a friend's wedding. Stunning property, great views in three of our directions, infinity pool, huge bed, great linens, real air conditioning. Two restaurants, one fine dining and one more casual. This is a destination resort, well worth the price, but surely not cheap.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The location exudes an atmosphere of true serenity and sweetness and anyone exposed to it will be awestruck. Each room has its own character and design. Rustic furniture of peasant origins is mixed with antique furniture, prints and paintings. Some, that open directly to the outdoors give the sense of having a place of one’s own; others have a relaxing view of the typical Sienese countryside; yet others look out onto the complex’s quadrangle and face the lodgings the peasants at one time inhabited. ... more   less
