We had a nice view over Geiranger Fiord from our cabin and a covered balocny, which meant we could sit out even during the rain. There was also an open air deck with grill facility and a picnic table. The cabin kitchenette was sufficient for heat and eat meals. No microwave. Shower pressure was excellent.

Disliked · The cabin overlooked the road so there was the noise element. The linen had to be paid for seperately and was expensive. The access to the cabin we got, not for all, was by a steep incline, may be an issue for some. Wifi was very bad.

Me and my wife spent two nights at Hole hytteutleige at the end of july. We vere lucky to get cabin 9, the new one, with a bic balcony and superb panorama over the fjord and surroundig beautiful mountains. The cottage is extremely well cleaned, simply but in a pretty way furnished. It is equipped with everything one needs for a couple of nights stay, clean and functioning shower/WC. It is just a little above the road, but enough, no traffic noice was interfering ones' sleep. On the contrary, the cabins are located between two waterfalls and the stunning wash from the water lulls the traveller to sleep ,
The location near hiking trails is excellent, within 45 minutes one reaches the Storseterfossen Waterfall where you can walk behind the waterfall...and not just the destination, all the way up and down one can enjoy the spectacular views, all this without being a true professional hiker...just a little sweat after breakfast or before lunch, as the weather typically is moist and not too hot for a little exercise. And as a bonus a yummy waffle from the Hole reception fulfills the trip. The personnel at the reception was always happy to help and answer all the questions.
The breakfast is provided in the Hole Hytteutleige, if ordered in advance, but can also be prepared in the cabin. There are two restaurants nearby, the trip to the village itself takes 30 minutes on foot, or five minutes by car on the serpentine road. The small village is picturesque with the fjord and surrounding mountains. It is an astonishing experience to see 1-5 huge cruise ships to drop their anchors and thousands of cruise passangers populating the small village, but just for one day...fortunately they disappear usually in the late afternoon. Another must is to take the trip to Dalsnibba, a mounting on top of the valley. It offers a very good view and is often covered by snow even in the summer. The lake Djupvatnet lies halway up the mountain, one can enjoy the view on the lake with melting ice in July...if you haven't a car with you or are too fearful to drive on the serpentine roads, there are busstours with professional drivers and guides offered in the village. And suggest taking your evening snack at the cabin on the wide balcony enjoying the athmosphere.
We enjoyed our stay in Geiranger and at Hole hytteutleige and recommend it for couples and families, want to thank especially Anna, Anne and Laura for the experience.
But if you are looking for Hilton, this is not for You...

one of the most amazing landscape I ever seen,
atmosphere, privacy, nature, cascades and water.
You could stay 1 or few days, even 1 week.
You will feel free, fresh and happy,
don't hesitate to choose it.
Take ferry or boat for a walk on the fjord,
walk on the step on the hills.
A lot of cascades, rainbows after rain, wonderful and very sportive location.

Good:
- reception was super polite and friendly and nice.
Great location to the fjord and slightly more affordable than the rest of hotels
- bathroom floor is heated
- stove and utensil for cooking if you want but no supermarket around to buy stuff to cook. I am not one to walk around with groceries in my suitcase
- located near a good farmer themed restaurant but it's super expensive as with everything else in Norway.

Bad:
DO NOT ORDER THE $25 per person breakfast. You will live to regret it. Two slice of dry bread and some jam with a boiled eggs I was so shocked I couldn't eat the boiled eggs lol
- no wifi. They said there is wifi and I can see it but never connect to it. Too weak
- bed is small bunk like beds with bad covers. No bed sheets
- toilet is almost in the bathroom. When you shower it all gets wet. No separation
-room is bright and since its bright outside there is no blinds on the floor glass. You sleep in bright room.

We got cabin nbr 14, and it was newly renovated with enough kitchen supply to make a small dinner. The two "adult" beds was a bit narrow, but the sofa bed was very big and comfortable for the kid. Good ikea table inside and also table and chairs outside.
Cleaning was not the best, so you can easily do it yourself before leaving, not worth to pay 300 for this 15-minute job.
Tip of the day is the local Geiranger beer, found in the supermarket (Joker) close to the water.

Cabins have an amazing view over the fjord. Sipping a coffee on your own terrace whilst watching the sunrise is priceless.

We were in the 'older' huts, which could do with a make-over (but have the better view).

No restaurants nearby, so either get some shopping done down in the valley( before 6pm!!) or drive down.

Wifi in the hut is little to none, apparently it is better near the reception building (we didn't test this though).

Room Tip: Older cabins have the better view straight into the fjord. Newer ones are slightly on the side.

Very nice group of cabins overlooking Geiranger Fjord. Our cabin was newly built (or refreshed), well equiped and big enough for a family of 4. Frendly and helping staff at the reception, and good coffee machine.

My family and I stayed at the Hole Hytteutleig cabins for two nights. Upon arrival, the owner gave us the keys to one the cabins so we could see the accommodations before we made a decision on whether we wanted to stay there or not. Once I opened the door, I didn't even have to walk inside before I made my decision. The cabin was very clean, had sleeping accommodations for 6-7 people, a bathroom with heat floors, a kitchen that included pots, pans, silverware, cups, and plates, and a flat screen TV (That you won't even turn on because the view from every cabin is stunning). Outside, each cabin had it's own grill and picnic table. Overall, our stay was fantastic! We traveled all over Norway and this was by far our favorite stay. It was also the nicest and least expensive of any hotel we found. Highly recommended.

Stayed on 2 different days at cabins for 4 people with 2 bunk beds; cabin 5 and 8

Pros:
-Easy drive to the port/supermarket/gas station, main tourist area down below to take the ferry from Geiranger to Hellesylt
-Meal preparations possible with kettle, coffee maker, hot plate, and small fridge also some plates, cups, utensils
-Young lady at the reception was very friendly.

Cons:
-Extremely weak wifi in the cabins; had to stay at the reception to use it 👎
-no hooks to hang clothing

Don't forget to clean the cabins before you leave or else you will get charged a cleaning fee.

We really enjoyed the nice surrounding and the incredible fjord views from the cabins.

I dont remember about the fridge. I would wriye them an email about that question. The cabins are located right up the side of the mountain from the village. Very convenient location and just unbelievable views!!!
