Family of four spent one night in the fancy tents (lavvo) at Dalen Gaard Camping. This was our first time in a lavvo and our first experience with "glamping". The lavvo was super nice, spacious and had an elegant and cozy look. The beds were the best we had during our 11 day round trip of Norway. Thick duvet with a woolen blanket on top kept us warm during the entire night.

The location of the camping grounds are gorgeous, smack in the middle of the valley, looking up at Dalsnibba viewpoint and with a waterfall as the "next door neighbor".

Shared showers and restroom facilities were kept clean at all times. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall a great experience and we enjoyed our time at Dalen Gaard to the fullest. If we return to Geiranger, we will definitely choose to return to the lavvo as well :)

We stayed here for one night and rented a two bedroom cottage with one bedroom on the first floor (bunk bed) and three matresses in the atic.
We loved the cottage and nature outside. The cottage seemed freshly painted in a vibrant orange colour which I simply adored. We had our own parking space next to the cottage which was great!
The terrace was nice and spcious. The cottage was really cosy and very clean. The area around was very open and peaceful. We regretted not staying there longer. Will definitely come back here and recommend it to others! It’s a 16 min drive to Geiranger center.
Free wife in the reception area.

First impression we got was riding the gravel road into the campingsite, through a meadow of yellow flowers and the mountains raising up in the background. It was a aww-striking moment! The picturesque landscape is absolutely stunning!

The cabin was a 4 people cabin, with a large bathroom with shower, a kitchen with everything you need to make food. The staff was very polite and helpful!

I can absolutly recommend this site to everyone. Even tho it is a short trip from the city center I'd rather stay here!

We stayed two nights in a medium standard cabin in Dalen Gaard and these were two of most relaxing and inspiring dates. The camping is located about 7 min drive from Geirangerfjord. The cabins are surrounded by high mountains and there are several waterfalls and a crystal clear mountain river. The cabin had two rooms, one for sleeping. It was very cosy and very well equipped with everything to feel like home, even hot and cold tap water. The facilities are all very well kept and clean. The family that runs the camping is very friendly and helpful! They are really nice and supportive.

Myself and three friends rented a car and drove through Norway in May of 2014. We were mainly pulling into side roads/roadside campsites for the duration of the trip, but for three nights in a row we got rained on and were soaked. It was the off-season, so this was expected.

We saw some cars at this campsite, and found out it was just family visiting for Norwegian Constitution Day (which we had no clue was happening). But, the owner let us stay anyways even though it was the off-season and even heated up the cabin for us and opened up the main lodge so we could use the free wifi. We ended up coming back after we explored Geirangerfjord a couple days later - and she again heated the rooms up for us at 9pm at night and was extremely friendly! We were treated amazingly throughout our trip through Norway, will never forget the view of the mountains from this farm either. Definitely a highlight of our trip, and the beds were much needed after sleeping on the cold ground for a week.

I hope some day the lady who helped us out reads this to know how much we appreciated it.

Found this gem while road-tripping around the Southwestern fjords and I cannot recommend enough if you want to be close to Geiranger but wanted to avoid the crowds. We traveled in early June so the cruise ship and tour bus crowds were minimal but still present. We were originally going to stay on one of the waterfront campsites in Geiranger but the campervans were essentially side-by-side and it looked too claustrophobic for our taste. Instead, we found this place and drove into Geiranger and had the viewpoint all to ourselves at around 10pm (land of the midnight sun!) and then came back to our campsite to enjoy the mountain view in peace and quiet. Also, the showers and bathrooms are incredibly clean with excellent water pressure.

The hosts were excellent before we even arrived, messaging us with information about mountain pass closures and alternative routes.

When we arrived, we found the huts in a pretty valley a few miles from the Geiranger Fjord. We sat on the hut's covered porch and watched the stars come out.

The huts are basic but have a fully operational kitchen and good shower room (the shower was surprisingly good!). They were beautifully quiet and we slept really well.

We stayed here two nights in August 2014. Our cabin was a "high standard" with five beds and a bathroom. It also had a nice terrace. It's about a 10 minutes drive from Geiranger centre, takes you away from the noise, and gives you a good countryside feeling. They had two horses at the farm.

"Kvanndalsfossen" a short hike nearby is worth the walk.

We were here on 16 July for 3 nights. Its located in a picturesque location with mountain back ground. Just opposite on crossing the road there is a huge waterfall. The kitchen, bathroom and toilet were very clean the owners are very nice and friendly and they arrange everything so fast. This place is so calm and nice to stay in Cabins or your tents and I highly recommend it to all.

Tents are ok, beds and bedsheets are lovely. Equipped with a small refrigerator, heater, lamp and to chairs and a table.

The camp in it self isn't ok. Located on a field, quiet big and the environment/ surrounding is poor.

Showers are messy, but I'll consider it's mostly the users not cleaning up after themselves.

A bow all, if we find something else next time we will definitely go and try this. Unfortunately everything was sold out in hole Geiranger this weekend.

I need tell that the frontier/check in that she's a lovely person and are doing a good first impression as a host for campers in Norway. I believe here name was "Wencke" 😊
