The hotel was advertised as four star which gives the idea of a luxurious experience which it is not. The carpet in the hallway outside the bedrooms is badly stained and has bleach marks. At the bottom of the lift shaft there is a very grim grill with a dirty area behind it. It is a glass lift so some thought needs to be given to that, especially in the area of the spa.
The rooms are very basic and though they are for two or three people ( rollaway bed under a bed) there was only one chair in the room. There is an empty fridge, a large wardrobe and a couple of drawers. The room is very plain with no paintings or other decoration. On the balcony there was a foldaway clothes line to dry towels etc, a small table and two chairs. The bathroom had a powerful shower over a bath, a bidet, loo and washbasin and a small stool. The hotel claims to be mobility friendly but the bath arrangement is not.
The adults only pool is accessed up 5 steep steps, and the restaurant is down a lot of stairs with no lift.
The food on the first night was not great, the much vaunted vegetarian corner had a selection of either corn on the cob or grilled tomatoes. Not terribly appealing! The buffet dining experience is somewhat disjointed with the various stations scattered around the large and very noisy room. The breakfasts and the following evenings were better food wise and we asked the charming hostess to give us a quieter table
The bar staff were very friendly and the drinks were reasonably priced. There is a large terrace overlooking the main pool on the 3 star side of the hotel which has to be shared with the 4 star guests.
There is nowhere to get a hot drink during the day other than the bar. Water was charged for except at breakfast.
The staff at reception were very grumpy and not especially helpful when the double bed we thought we had booked turned out to be a twin room. They were unable to change the room.

Arrived at 1130, room not ready until 1400, with all in starting at 1300. Not even a bottle of water offered! Left luggage in luggage room, got changed and went for a walk. Lovely shops, bars and restaurants enroute. ‘Checked in just before 1330 and had clean room over looking adult pool. Small fridge, towels, body wash and shampoo, hair dryer, body moisturiser and vanity package ( 3 cotton buds and two cotton pads) in the room. Air conditioning seemed a bit disappointing at first but after we came back from lunch the room was cool.
No rushing for sunbeds in the morning plenty to chose from including four poster ‘beds’ which you can hire for the day. Busiest time by the adult pool seemed to be later afternoon/early evening. (Monday morning it was just us two pool side for about an hour, bliss 😄)
Spa isn’t well advertised, small notice on reception. We didn’t ask about it as we were only there for a couple of days
Note: all in only runs 1000-2300. You can’t even get water outside these times. We got a large bottle from nearby supermarket and kept in fridge.
Food was ok (a little scare with some very pink pork on the last night!). It’s just labelled in Spanish so occasionally we had no idea what we were eating if it wasn’t easily recognisable!
All in all very relaxing holiday. We’ll be back, as they say.

Good location, lovely pools, amazing yoga classes and nice food. But. It's not self service with drinks, you can't just help yourself to tea and coffee or water, you have to ask for it at the bar (although the staff are very friendly and helpful). Other downside is that the evening entertainment starts quite late (9.30pm) and is open air/by the pool. This means there's no getting away from it, it's really noisy in the room even with all the windows and curtains closed. Annoying if you want an early night to catch the sunrise (like I do) and completely at odds with the presumed peace and tranquility of a yoga hotel, I'm not going to be able to shut it out and get sleep until whatever time it ends (it's now 10.30pm and still going strong). Not yet used the spa so can't comment on that. It's booked for tomorrow though. Reception staff are very friendly and helpful too. There's alot of great stuff, it's just confused about what vibe it's meant to have

Hola, Buenos Tardes.

This past week, I stayed in the Luna Club Spa Hotel in Margrat De Mar with a friend. It was one of the best hotel experiences I have had so far, the facilities were incredible, the beach was close and it was a great location to stay in.

The staff were mostly friendly and welcoming, and the environment was very safe and calm.

The kitchen host and staff were amazing, they were very warm and inviting, my Spanish is basic at best but I was encouraged to try and not judged which I like and they did their best to understand English.

I am gluten intolerant and they accommodated to my needs, they went out of their way to ensure that I had gluten free options, including the chefs too. Before arriving it was a concern of mine, but I felt that I didn't miss out at all.
The kitchen manager was very helpful, and remembered that I was gluten free and made me aware that she knew and was on it.

The rooms were very clean, new towels were provided whenever they were needed, and although the cleaners didn't speak English they were happy to help when explained to. The body wash didn't get topped up until 4 days in when we asked, luckily I had my own so I wasn't too fussed.

I can honestly say that I am grateful for the experience and I will be returning next June alone to make the most of all the activities available. As I only used the pools and Spa (which was so worth it).

There was also entertainment in the evening, the acts were sweet, however, it would be nice to have something I little more lively occasionally.

Gracias,

Cortaney Tyne

This was my first solo trip going abroad on my own and I couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay. All the hotel staff were so friendly and welcoming. Especially the lady with the dark hair who does the meet and greet at the restaurant (forgot names but I think it began with an S!!) and the lovely guy who does the bar in the restaurant. Both spoke fluent English (I was ashamed I couldn't speak fluent Spanish!) and went above and beyond to make sure I was well looked after during breakfast and dinner. The food was very fresh and delicious! So many choices especially if you’re vegetarian! I rarely ate meat as the veggie options were so appealing and tasty!! Great selection for breakfast too!
Room was great - huge bed, clean, good sized bathroom with good water pressure. Loved having the mini fridge to keep water cool. One downfall - no accessible drinking water. Quite common when you’re abroad but the large water bottles were expensive in the hotel so I just bought a huge 4L bottle from the supermarket and kept it in my room. The hotel was so beautifully decorated with the Tuscan orange walls, tall leafy plants and comfy furniture. The hotel was clean and smelt clean! I loved the smell the minute you walked into reception. Almost gave off a Jo Malone kinda smell.
The gym was on the smaller scale but always had it to myself.
Sun mattresses were comfy but some you had to pay for. By the end of the week, the hotel was packed so sun beds and sun mattresses were all taken by 11am.
Live music was fabulous whilst having a drink at the bar on an evening.
Mosquitos are BAD at night. I got 5 bites in one night so make sure you bring some deet!
The beach and outside restaurants are all within a 10 min proximity and there are so many shops, especially for tourists.
Didn’t use the spa as I wanted to be in the sunshine but from what I saw, it looked amazing.

Overall, for me on a solo 5 day holiday, it was perfect. I wouldn’t have wanted to be anywhere else. I felt safe, relaxed and loved how kind any friendly everyone was. I will 100% go back next year, especially on my own!!!

Stayed here in September with
My wife, lovely hotel , quiet and peaceful, 2 big pools loads of sunbeds. Stayed on b.fast, & dinner basis, food was plentiful and always something to eat, most food though needs to be advertised in English. The rooms were comfortable but again no English TV which wud be a help. The staff were lovely n friendly contrary to other reviews, they were very friendly and.always had a chat with them every day. The Bar closes at 11 which is bit too early also the entertainment needs to be upgraded. The main strip is on 5 mins away with plenty of bars & Restaurants available. For a relaxing holiday this hotel is a great place to stay.

I returned yesterday from my stay at the Luna Club hotel. Myself and my husband spent 1 week here. The hotel is clean and the cleaners changed the towels every day. The staff in particular Selma, restaurant manager alongside Fatu who was welcoming at all times even when she was very busy helped made our stay enjoyable. It was my husband's birthday and I am grateful to Selma and the team who helped me organise a special day for him.

The train from Santa Suzanne to Barcelona is within easy access walk from the hotel. We spent a lovely day in Barcelona. I would definitely recommend the boat trip excursion with the wine tasting element to it which can be booked safely on the main road. We were able to visit two beautiful beaches in Tossa De Mar and visit a famous castle. Long day but worth every minute.

Thank you to all the staff for making our stay enjoyable. Carol H

4 friends on a 4 day break. The hotel experience was just perfect for us. Basic enough rooms that were kept spotlessly clean as was the entire hotel and grounds. But biggest laudits go to the staff of this facility. From reception, cleaning staff, bar and restaurant all were exceptional! It was clear they love working in the hotel and had great friendships amongst eachother. The resort fell down but Luna Hotel and Spa made up for it in abundance. We went all inclusive and were more than catered for in all areas, drinks and snacks at the pool and all meals in restaurant. Lots if beds at the pool during our Sept. Stay

Pretty much everything was perfect the rooms were nice, staff are great and the hotel is beautiful. If you stay at this hotel you really should try the spa so so relaxing. The only thing that does let this hotel down is the food, sadly it wasn't always cooked properly especially the pork and the chicken was still slightly pink. It's great if you like fish, but there are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby if you can't find anything you like at the hotel The beach is close and easy to get to.

All in all had a great time.

The food isn’t the best, however the hotel is really nice. The layout of the two separate pools is great, one being adults only. I really did not want to leave!
Would recommend this hotel and happily stay again.

I thought the same thing but I looked up the hotel on Google and looked at Google reviews and there were some recent ones. I also checked Instagram and some people have recently posted pictures. I get the impression it may be quiet. I hope that helps.
Answer from Ogerta F

My room was a club which can sleep 3 people and did have shower over the bath. However you need to ask to provide a bath mat. I don’t recommend that hotel to no one. I suggest you book a better hotel.
