The hotel is located in an ideal place for anyone breaking the journey between Accra and Tamale. It has a restaurant and a small open air swimming pool. There are several qualities of room but my preference is for a room with a fan rather than air conditioning. Such a room costs the equivalent of £10 and can house two... More

Contrary to a review by Americans I had a fine stay for two weeks, enjoying the clean pool and the friendly service of the simple restaurant. The local stews were really a revelation, alternating between Tilapia (fried or grilled) and Chicken. As in most local hotels the elaborate menu does not cover the inventory, but if you insist most reasonable... More

My husband, our 21-year-old daughter and I stayed in the Dery Yire Hotel in Techiman in October, 2006, when we flew to Ghana to visit our daughter during her UC Berkeley semester abroad program. We were booked into the Dery Yire Hotel--otherwise known as the "Dreary Hotel"--by our tour guide. I do believe we were the only guests that night.... More
