Sambiya River Lodge is a family run eco lodge in the Heart of Murchison Falls National Park, a twenty minute drive from the top of the famous falls. Situated on a bluff over looking the Sambiya River valley, the property is home to numerous birds, bushbucks, waterbucks, Cape buffalo, leopard, as well as visiting lions & elephants. We have a resident UWA ranger guide to take guests on walking safaris, as well as game safaris on the new circuits recently put in on the southern side of the River Nile. Please see our website for further information. We look forward to welcoming you to Sambiya River Lodge!

We loved this Lodge, it manages to preserve appearance and standards across all areas. The rooms are from another, almost colonial era, the food is a bit up and down - one night a first rate Fish curry, the next not so good but the ambiance and whole effect is memorable. We

Margareta F, thank you for your review. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay. We will address the policies of drivers dining with the owner, however I do know that guests are always welcome to pay for their drivers and guides to dine with them. Many of our guests prefer that their guides and drivers do not dine with them. This is obviously a personal preference per guest, but we always welcome the drivers and guides to dine with the clients as long as their meals are paid for (typically their room and board is a cheaper price). If you have any further concerns, please do not hesitate to email us directly.

Yes we can give you a COTTAGE room that has a view of the Sambiya River. Note this is a seasonal river. During dry season it can be quite low...but the buffalos like to lie in it! Banda rooms do not have river views...or valley views.

Hello Sharon. The drive from Kampala to Sambiya can take anywhere from 4-5 hours, depending how many stops you might make along the way. You need to be inside the Park before 7pm as UWA closes the gate at 7! Best regards.
