Shanthi Beach Resort is a fairly old, run-down premises. For the most part the staff are unhelpful and apathetic, with the exception of one or two. The food is ok, not great. The location is fantastic though, right on the water at Dalawella Beach which is beautiful and only a few minutes walk along the beach to a protected lagoon...

The bad: The hotel is old, and the room we stayed seemed very old and the bathrooms are badly maintained. Was surprised that this hotel has a certificate of excellence. Location is also not that great, you need to pay to get a tuk tuk to and from Unawatuna, the main beach - it can get expensive at the end....

Perfect place for having holidays and get away from everyday problems. Great view, very friendly staff and owners. Young but talented chef makes your stay there specially enjoyable. Nice laguna near for swimming.

Stopped here whilst walking down the beach and sat in the pavilion with a beer - absolutely stunning view. Decided to have lunch which was a mistake. Had the prawn curry, which came with a large portion of well cooked rice. Unfortunately the prawns were clearly very old and "off". Tried one and the flesh was very mushy with a...

Great location to make a rest after travelling through Sri Lanka. We stay in a comfortabel big cabana with great view over the sea. The garden overlooking the sea was silent, the waves all the day and night relaxing. Just a few meters walk to take a save swim in the 'natural swimming' lagune. Nearby is also the more rough...

Great value for money here. The staff are very co operative and willing to go the extra mile, nothing was ever a problem. The food from the restaurant was very good and reasonably priced. The best part is that it's right on the beach, we enjoyed breakfast every morning on the outdoor tables watching the surfers. The rooms are clean...

The place and view of the beach is excellent. Hotel is a shaggy old building with old Air-conditions leaking water and with less cooling capability. Staffs refused to give us the Agoda rates. Also they refused to repair the AC and replace us with a different room although the water was leaking in the night. Towel in the washroom were...

Because last time I was here, I was so amazed that I decided to stay another vacation at this hotel and it seemed to be that my decision was not wrong. So first of all the room: It had a comfortable bed. There was a fan and A/C in that room too. The bathroom was cleaned and there was nothing...

My wife and I stayed one night here in July 2016 proceding from Colombo and before visiting Galle on the next day. We arrived late in the night after a great stop to lunch at Awanhala Beach Restaurant and a delightful afternoon on the beach. So that we only stay at this resort to have dinner and sleep. Our bungalow...

Nice hotel - type B & B right on the beach. Very quiet little resort with a pretty garden. We had a large bungalow with a terrace. The room was thoroughly cleaned, clean linen, clean cabinet, do not worry there to store things. Available air conditioning and mosquito net. Hot water in the bathroom. Every day clean towels. The staff...
