We loved this hotel. We were off season and got a great price for the room upstairs. We were right on the ocean, literally, and could see a turtle family that fed off the rocks every day...thanks to Sadim who showed us. Our room was very clean and lovely bathroom. We swam at the small private beach right outside and could...

We choose a sea view room at La Veranda based on the Trip Advisor reviews. Unfortunately when checking in the owner said that the room we had booked was unavailable on our first night. He then said normally he'd give us the suite but someone booked it out for 2 weeks. His attitude was rather nonchalant and told us if...

My boyfriend and I had a perfect stay at this lovely hotel two weeks ago. The owner and the little staff is so helpful and nice and always there for you, the location is great, the rooms are perfect with AC, good beds and also very clean every day. Everything in unawatuna is a close tuktuk drive away (wich is...

This was our first time staying at a beachfront small hotel, the experience in one word was amazing! The hotel is small and quaint but very nicely laid out and welcoming. Staff is small but hospitable and kind and eager to help out. We arrived around noon and were given a phenomenal blended passion papaya welcome drink I still can't...

What a find, great small hotel in, on, over beach, away from crowded unawatuna beach but only 100 meters away, great beach view rooms, Chanada owner is a great layed back guy and small staff team great, not sure of reason for any bad reviews, if you are family worth paying bit more to have top floor suite, competely self...

We were sorry to only have 2 days/nights at La Veranda. The setting is breathtaking, right on the beach with turtles swimming amongst the surf. Chanander was excellent to communicate with when we booked, and helpful and prompt in responding to questions. He arranged an airport transfer for us which went very smoothly and was a very comfortable safe ride...

The hotel is located on the beach with excellent views from the balcony. It is in very close proximity of the unawatuna beach which is of a great advantage. The hotel is well maintained and ckean. The rooms are OK. They satisfy your requirements but Dont qualify as luxury. Vegetarian food options are limited. Excellent staff and a very hospitable...

This beachfront property could have a lot of potential, if renovated or completely redone. As it is now, it is good enough if you are backpacking, but not if you are looking for some comfort or aesthetics. Absolutely everything in the room was falling apart, from cupboard door to leaking toilet-tube and toilet tank that took ages to fill. The...

Scrupulously clean rooms and good food, right over the ocean, the location is better than the main Unawatuna beach where the hotels are set back from the ocean. Easy walk to Unawatuna beach. The owner Chandana is very helpful and a single woman would feel absoluttly comfortable here.

Great location right on the water. Photos don't do it justice. We could literally look down from the balcony and see the beach and water's edge. The sound of the surf crashing against the sea wall is a constant reminder of how close we were to the ocean. No window screens and the bathroom window didn't shut completely. Great breeze,...
