I stayed in one of their dormitory style rooms, which was fine, but nothing to write home about. Bed was neither comfortable nor uncomfortable, bathroom did the job, although there was a hole in the ceiling. I'm not sure what was outside, but there was a weird smell coming into the bathroom, so I kept the door shut all the...

We stayed for a few days here and enjoyed the warm family hospitality; clean, comfortable rooms and delicious restaurant. Eduardo, Cristina and family will help you with anything you need. They organize tours and provide transportation anywhere you need to go at a reasonable rate. The beach is a two minute walk away and is gorgeous! Sweet little Costa Rican...

We were searching for a hotel which was clean, comfortable, and economical after having received a reduced-rate Sansa flight to Playa Tambor. We secured a room at Cabinas Cristina which was exactly what we wanted. The owner, Eduardo picked us up at the airport and later offered to serve lunch and dinner even though their kitchen was closed at the...

Really enjoyed our slowed down time at Christina's. The town of Tambor is super sleepy and spread out. But it was a nice break from the actioning/adventuring we'd been doing. Located right next to grocery store SUPER LAPA, any supplies you need are close by. Also, the restaurant fare is varied enough, tasty enough, and affordable enough to merit most...

We had a great time at Cristina's cabinas. The place was cozy with clean sheets and overall clean room. Cristina was very accommodating when we had to leave a night early and let us get our money back. The restaurant is very good food as well but tambor is boring

We unexpectedly were arrived much later (10:30pm) than scheduled as we missed the 5pm ferry. The owner waited for us to arrive, showed us to our room and told us to pay "mañana" tomorrow. Charming place, wonderful food and coffee. Yes no AC and no hot water, but we didn't mind at all.

This is a basic budget hotel. There is one large room with A/C and a bathroom. We stayed in one of the two smaller rooms that have bathrooms -- the full bed, shelving unit, and fan took up the whole room. We didn't have any hot water in the shower. Christina is a wonderful host, though! The outdoor restaurant is...

Food is incredible! Schrimps special is very good. Try the fruit shakes! Rooms with a/c, comfortable and clean. There is no need of hot water since the temperature is never below 29 Celsius. Beach is 50 meters away.

An absolutely first class, very laid back B & B run by Christina, Eduardo and Griselda. Christina is a world class chef in her own right. Her fish with coconut sauce, rice and vegetables was, hands down, the best I have ever had! This delightful gem is a mere 50 metres from the beach, which offers protected swimming. The accommodations...

No AC, no hot water, no window screens, huge flying bugs, lots crawling on you at night, shower is a bread on as PVC hanging out of the wall.....what's to recommend? About $32/night and still not worth it. Too hot for a fasn only. Find AC or sweat all night.

“If you can get an air-conditioned room it is worth it. But all the other rooms have a fan. Some have small fridges. All have wi-fi.”
