Located very conveniently near the center of town but on grounds that are private and quiet this is a very friendly and comfortable lodge. The staff was very helpful and efficient. Rooms were comfortable with all amenities. You will find no air conditioning or heat but these things aren't needed in this climate. Good wifi, tv and we were told...

Arco Iris is a very charming rustic eco-resort w/ great location right on the edge of the cool relaxed back packer town of Santa Elena. Even though it is only about 100 meters from the town once inside the resort you are in your own quiet relaxing little tropical oasis. My wife and 4 kids and I stayed here to...

We stayed here for a couple of nights. Our cabin was ideal with two bedrooms, a bathroom and a sitting area. It was very clean and comfortable. The grounds are lovely with sun loungers and swinging chairs. The buffet breakfasts were brilliant and much more varied than other places we stayed. Staff were always helpful: arranged transport for us and...

This is a wonderful quiet cluster of modern cabins and side by side duplexes on the edge of town. Walking access to several decent restaurants and the downtown of Santa Helena. Good place to base for Monteverde although you still have a 10k rough road to visit the national park. The breakfasts are outstanding with the best fresh pineapple I've...

We have stayed at the Arco Iris twice, our most recent stay in August 2016. The rooms at the Arco Iris are comfortable, very well maintained, and extremely clean. We had plenty of hot water for showers each night we were there, which is not always the case in Costa Rica hotels. But the best part of staying at the...

Very much enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We had a cabin with a queen and twin bed. The room was well organized and clean. Our cabin was just across from reception, which I was really grateful for as soon as I learned how hilly the property (and Santa Elena, generally) are! If you walk out to the end of...

This is a cute little collection of tidy cabins on nicely-kept grounds. The staff is friendly and accommodating, and they speak an impressive number of languages. My group of four visited in one of the hottest, most humid times of the year, and we still never needed air conditioning because of the elevation. There are safes in the rooms and...

Very tastefull, basic lodge owned by germans. With no frills but they have everything. They grow their own fruit and vegetables, they serve a healthy breakfast, and also, which is unique for costa rica, sugarless stuff. It is situated smack in the middle of santa elena, a sweet little backbackers village near monteverde with lots of nice restaurants. Wish all...

We rented their house that is offsite. It is 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, located on a small farm. The caretaker of the farm showed us around and even brought us fresh eggs from the chickens! It was a 5-10 minute drive from downtown, but it was nice to have a kitchen, more space, and a deck with an amazing...

What a beautiful small hotel in the city of Monteverde. You would never know that this hotel was directly in the middle of the city (except for some loud nights - dogs barking - and mornings, but we had the misfortune to be there during the mountain bike race which woke everyone up very early with very loud music which...
