The complex is very hilly with steps/slopes only and around 15 minutes walk to hit the shops/bars. The apartment was big, clean and fully functional. It was regularly cleaned with towels every other day and bed changed once a week. Power shower was hot and powerful. Michael at the only bar deserves a special mention for his personality, attention, playing music behind the bar and trying to find tv channels around having no subscription satellite channels. The selection of cocktails on was 2, blue lagoon/sex on the beach or €4 for anything else. Wine and beer were good. There was no entertainment provided at all and very limited covered area when it rained. The food was a real limited mish mash and not monitored for temperature at all. The food trays under heating lamps were cold as only 1 lamp was working out of 4/5. Kids would struggle for anything other than chips. The counter food of freshly cooked items cooled very quickly as heating plates beneath were only on low. The owners were present the last 5 days and it wouldn't have hurt them to smile/interact with guests but sadly nothing. It was well priced and with only 60 guests was easy to get served but I have serious concerns for when it is full and families with kids.

This was our 6th visit to Koni, last visit was 2015, not much has changed except for it now being all inclusive.

As we have been a few times we know the restaurants in town are great so didn’t plan to use the restaurant in the evening.

Breakfast was fine, meats, bread, salad, yogurt, fruit various hot options which was nice.

Lunch was quite repetitive, always plenty salad, though they may need to put some extra food signs up as one of the vegetable/pasta dish did have sausage through it.

Dinner unable to comment as we did eat out for the week.

We sat at the small pool at the front of the Koni, just our preference. Though for two days we couldn’t/didn’t go in the pool as they had done a cleaning process but the pool for the next two days was very cloudy and not exactly something that you’d want to go in for cool down/swim. Reception did say it was safe but wasn’t willing to give it a try.

Disappointed that the small bar at the bottom pool wasn’t opened. Feel that could be used at lunch times to offer an alternative as it used to with toasties etc. Or even open for drinks for people who are at this pool, I know it’s not far to the bar but would be more accommodating for guests.

Rooms, again not changed much but a kettle and cups for tea/coffee would be good.

Only problem we encountered was on day of departure, official check out time of 12.00 and then you are not entitled to any alcoholic drinks (which wasn’t an issue) but as our pick up time was at 7.45/8.00pm it was our plan to have food at the hotel before pickup, which at any other All Inclusive Hotel would not have been an issue.

We were stopped at the restaurant, where the “maitre’d” pulled out a sheet of guests and quite loudly said we were not allowed to enter as we were leaving.

As we didn’t use the restaurant in the evening for the rest of the week I don’t know if he checked guests names/rooms and did the same with others.

This could be an issue for people with younger children who want to make sure they have had something to eat before travelling home.

This is something we have never encountered before with an All Inclusive Hotel, we were not advised we couldn’t have an evening meal before departure.

So technically instead of 7 days all inclusive we got 6 1/2 days.

I write this in the UK having left Koni Village this morning. We were greeted with a smile on arrival and loved our entire stay. The room was great, air conditioning worked well and the safety deposit could be hired for a small fee. We always found sunbeds and enjoyed the drinks and meals. Special mentions must go to Michael behind the bar and Rula in the restaurant, who are both an absolute credit to this hotel. It's a short walk to the centre of Stalis and the beach, which is lovely. The drinks are served all day (10:30am - 11pm all inclusive) and the food is good unless you're very fussy. We have stayed in higher star hotels where the food hasn't been as good as here. If you want a relaxing holiday with great staff, this is the place for you. Personally, I'm missing it already!

We’ve just returned from a week’s stay at Koni Village. In my honest opinion I wouldn’t return based on the below comments.

The evening we arrived (2:30am) we were greeted by a very rude older gentleman at reception. We have to pay our room tax which we were aware of before we arrived and had our card ready to make this payment. The man stated this couldn’t be made by card and was cash only although I could see a card machine in front of him. His reasons for this were that it would charge him too much of a fee and that I should walk down to the ATM (10 minute walk away to obtain the cash from there). He was abrupt, cold and had a bad attitude. In the end I had to raise my voice to make him aware of the time and that I wouldn’t be doing that in the dark not knowing where I was going. He then agreed this could be paid the next day. When I went to pay this the next morning I was greeted by a lovely lady who asked how my stay was, I advised her of the previous evening to which she was shocked and advised me this would be no problem to pay by the card and that I wouldn’t be expected to walk to an ATM at that time, I advised that if I hadn’t of argued with the man the previous evening he would have expected me to do this. This left us with a terrible first nights sleep thinking what on earth is this place and why have we come to stay here!!! However the lady next day made us feel a lot better!

Bar staff were fine, not chatty but not really rude either, it was clear who Mike was from the other reviews were people had mentioned him and he was a great guy!

Room was great had everything we needed however the electricity does go off when you leave so if you’re planning on charging any electrical throughout the day this won’t work although this didn’t really bother us.

Food was hit and miss, but I would say you got what you paid for. If you are a fussy eater which I am then be prepared to eat out most evenings (we’d already planned this so this was no issue to us).

Pool, very clean and huge, plenty of sunbeds to go around, entertainment every other night which was great too.

Beach front is about 15 minute walk away with lots of restaurants and shops. There is a restaurant on your way down to this called “The Curry House” which served Chinese, Thai and Indian, I couldn’t recommend this enough the food was amazing and the staff were lovely!

My star rating would be a lot higher if it wasn’t for our experience on our first night.

Great location, 10 min walk to the beach and stalis which are both great. Easy access to local buses and taxis for travel to locations such as Malia etc. We had a sea facing room which was clean and with good views although the room was basic and we had 2 single beds rather than a double which we would have preferred. Rooms are serviced every other day and beds made most days. There are 2 pools, one large and noisy and the other quieter and more relaxing. Sun beds need replacing as are old but there wasn’t any difficulty in securing a sun bed. Choice of food was limited and quality fair but not great. The restaurant can get extremely busy, hot and noisy which detracts from the pleasure of eating. Limited vegetarian / vegan options. We ate out a few times because of this and stalis is relatively good prices for food and drink. Drinks were fine and staff very friendly and helpful. Very limited entertainment - one night of music in 10 days. Because of this and the standard of the food we can’t give more than a 3.

We stayed at Koni Village from 12 th August for 14 nights . We arrived late and was met by a lovely receptionist who had honoured our request for a quiet room on the lower level due to having a son with autism and does not like a lot of noise. We had sandwiches , cold bottled water and fruit in the fridge when we arrived which was a nice touch after a long journey. The pool areas are great one being an the lower level and the other a little more lively but both great . Mike the evening bar tender is a delight xx he got me very drunk on Raki(the local greek spirit) ! He was a wealth of knowledge and became a good friend over the 2 week stay. Nothing was too much trouble for Mike he was always there with a smile and happy to help, Daniel who runs the shop in the day time and helps in the restaurant and bar in the being is a gentle giant , again nothing too much trouble , he was always happy to help.
The rooms are clean and basic as is typical Cretan style and the air con was brilliant and a fridge in the room too. The maids were very polite and always ready each day for clean towels .
the only negative I can say is about the all inclusive food. I was looking forward to a selection of typical Greek dishes on offer but was met with one Greek dish and pasta, salad and chips most evenings. The breakfast wasn’t great and the snacks during the day were very limited. I can say that the alcohol is full strength and not watered down at all - I have the hangovers to prove it! All in all a great holiday for a family with 2 teenage boys and great views from the bay terrace. There was also live music while we were there which was great. Thank you to all the staff at Koni Village you work so hard and are great!

Fantastic views. Brilliant aircon. Free safe in room. No kettle but didn't need one :) Beds are a little springy but not too bad really. Room is very basic but clean and fresh towels delivered daily. Power shower.
Transfer time is more like 40 mins from the airport which was a bonus!
Staff are all wonderful, they are as kind to you as you are to them. Daniel and Mike in particular were brilliant, very friendly, helpful and talkative. Daniel seemed to be everywhere and we became good friends with him during our stay.
The view of the mountains from the dining room is incredible.
Food was really good! We aren't picky eaters and always found something we really enjoyed. It was always hot and there was always a variety, plenty of choice based on what you would expect for a smaller hotel of this size.
Always loads of sunbeds free and plenty of space around the pool. Big pool, cleaned daily.
Little shop with all the basic essentials on site.
8 minute walk to the beach. Lovely restaurants here.
15 min walk to Malia, loads of bars and cafes etc. We had a lovely Italian meal here during the day.
The Jet 2 rep Emma was really helpful and friendly. Loads of trips and excursions you can do.
The bus to Hersonnisos cost less than 3.50 for two people and took about 15 mins. A taxi costs 20 euro.
All inclusive band was cut at noon on the last day, but soft drinks are still included until departure! 3 euros for a beer. We extended our room for 30 euros as didn't leave until 8pm. We had dinner for 10 euros each before we left. Hugs with all staff we saw on the way out. We loved Koni and would absolutely stay here again in the future!

My family had a great time at Koni. The walk into Stalida is approx 15 minutes away with a subway under the main road and you can also walk into Malia old town which is about a 25 minute walk and worth a visit. Malia is more traditional Greece and Stalida is a little more commercialised but with a nice beach, the children loved it. Koni apartments are on a steep hill so be aware of the walk if your room is at the top! The food is varied with a good selection but the spirits at the bar are terrible, not even drinkable! The lager and wine are good. The swimming pools are great and the family room had plenty of room and two balconys. We enjoyed two excursion's the trip on the Happy Train and boat trip to Spinalonga, all booked from in Stalida high street. I would give Koni and Stalida a 3/5 rating. We did have a great time though.

We've just got back from a week long holiday at koni village. The hotel itself is clean, plenty of sunbeds and a decent location to stalis but that's about it for the pros. We are very easily pleased when it comes to hotels and food but koni has been a bad one. The food has been inedible, carrots and salad for breakfast every morning was weird? The 'bacon' and croissants were dripping, you can't tell what's what, is it mayo, yogurt? You couldn't physically conjure up a proper meal for lunch and dinner, it was pretty disgusting food wise so we ate out every meal. We arrived at 2am on the Sunday morning losing out on the full Saturday all inclusive but they still cut off your wristband at 12 noon the day you leave. The bar is rip off as we found it's double the price of the supermarket underneath. Our pick up time was 7.30pm, we went to have a shower by the pool at around 5pm and asked reception for towels to be bluntly told no, we should have taken the towels from our room at checkout at 12??? I asked if I could go back and get them, before I'd even finished telling her my room number "NO". I get it's a cheap stay but even for what we paid it was a waste of money.

We have just returned from a weeks stay at Koni village. I booked this as a last minute deal for myself and 2 kids. After reading some of the reviews I was quite apprehensive. I needn’t have been. We arrived late and were immediately made to feel very welcome by the gentleman on reception, we were shown to our rooms and given packed lunches with some ice cold water, which after a long day was much appreciated. Yes, the rooms are basic, but fit for purpose. Our room was cleaned every day and we were given fresh towels each time. The food selection on all inclusive is pretty limited but there was something we all liked at each sitting. The resort itself was lovely and clean and all the staff were so friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Koni and would definitely return
