Our first time at Filia, but the majority of the other guests were repeat visitors and I can see why. The place is immaculate and not just on the noticeable places, a lot of effort goes into keeping a place this clean. The staff are all lovely, friendly and helpful. 2 good pools, the one at the back a little smaller but perfectly adequate to jump in to cool off in 35+ heat!!
We never had a problem getting a comfortable sun lounger, although the hotel was not full.
Fantastic choice at breakfast, everything you could need and more, and FRESH orange juice, not that awful powdered stuff.
Rooms are basic but adequate, we had room 311 with a partial sea view one way and mountains the other, far enough away from the bar area which can get a little noisy at night, lovely balcony area. The shower cubicle was small but the shower itself very powerful.
As we'd came on a JET2 package the safe and air con were an extra cost (not the case if you book direct, it's included) .
My only slight gripe about the room was the paper thin curtains which did nothing to block the heat or light......thicker curtains needed.
A separate shower room/toilets in the basement to use for late departures, again exceptionally clean (usually a neglected area) .
We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend .

This was our 3rd visit Filia and we wouldn't go anywhere else in Stalis. Michael and his family could not do more for the guests and are always there if you need anything. The atmosphere at the hotel is great - especially at night with Billy at the bar who always entertains everyone. This year was our longest stay as we stayed at Filia for 2 weeks and when the 2 weeks was up, we didn't want to go home.
From the minute you arrive at Filia you get a great welcome from the family and are made to feel at home during your stay. Rooms are cleaned everyday by the hardworking cleaners who are very friendly and get to know you.
We would never go anywhere else in Stalis as Filia is only a 5 minute walk from lots of shops, restaurants and the beach so it couldn't be in a better place. There is never any problems in the morning when getting sunbeds as they are always available and there is also another pool you can go to.
Thanks once again to Michael and his family who make our stay at Filia so enjoyable and make it feel like a second home for us. Can't wait to come back next year 🇬🇷

Have just spent two weeks at this lovely family run hotel arrived to a lovely welcome from Michael . The hotel is in a brilliant location for exploring all stalis has to offer weather wasn't the best when we where there so found we went out walking rather than lazing around the stunning pool area on the most comfortable loungers I have ever seen. Rooms kept spotless by our lovely house keeper ( sorry never got her name ) who left me a lovely arrangement on my bed for my birthday 😘 Billy keeps the drinks flowing and George keeps us fed all in all a brilliant holiday and I can see why people return year after year thank you for a lovely holiday and hope next year is a busy and prosperous one best wishes to you all

We booked a family suite with the mezzanine floor. The room was spotless, light and airy and comfortable with an amazing shower.
We were on a half board basis and the food was all good with plenty of options even for my fussy son.
The main pool area is also spotless with a chilled out atmosphere and really comfy sunbeds. Always got a bed but you had the usual people who put their towels out in the morning and don't venture out until late afternoon which is frustrating.
We spent lots of time at the beach which is a 5 minute walk and was so lovely with a gentle sloping beach and crystal clear water. Lots of the bars offer free sunbeds and waiter service which we enjoyed!
We travelled to Heraklion from the bus stop at the top of fhe main road. There is an electronic ticket machine which allows you to pick your language which was really handy. It was 11 euros each way for all 4 of us in a air conditioned bus saving a fortune on an organised trip.
The staff were all so welcoming and friendly. We have never returned to the same hotel before but are looking at booking again for next year as it ticked all our boxes.

This was my fourth visit to this hotel. I can not recommend this hotel and the resort of Stalis enough. The hotel is run by a lovely family who welcome you very warmly and you are treated as a good friend for your whole stay.
We book directly via their website and the price includes airport transfers and air con.
George’s BBQ is a great evening that you shouldn’t miss - delicious food, wine, raki and greek music.
Lovely clean rooms and pools, comfy sunbeds, great location. There isn’t a bad thing to say about this place!
I am sure I will be returning again in the future for another brilliant holiday.

We had room 320 over on the far side of the resort next to a very noisy road. The beds were hard, the shower/bathroom was disgusting with a little sink. A kettle and a fridge were supplied but washing a couple of mugs out or rinsing any clothing was difficult to say the least. we asked for a clothes rack and an extra bin to save teabags going in the tiny toilet bin. The breakfast was cold, nowhere to eat it except outside. Sun beds were great and so was the pool. Should have stayed next door at VASiLAKiS Apts & studios and used Filias pool like some others that we met were doing.

Dear Mrs. Diana We are very sorry that you did not have the best vacation in Filia. But first of all let me remind you that on the second day you complained that we gave you a small room. After a check we made together during your reservation, we found that we had given you the right room and the mistake was made by your travel agency. You also asked to change to a bigger one but refused to pay the difference. Even then we gave you the opportunity to change hotel, which you also refused. During your stay, you never informed the reception about the small problems you had in your room. Also, let me remind you that at that time 84 people had breakfast with you, and none of them complained that the breakfast was cold. Especially for you, it couldn't be cold since you were one of the first customers every day in the breakfast area. As for the customers who stayed at the hotel next door, I must inform you that they have been repeat customers of Filia for over 10 years and because Filia was full, they stayed at the hotel next door. As you understand, these people can use the amenities of Filia. After all this, we were sorry that you didn't have the best holidays and really accept my apology.

I have just returned from the Filia hotel, I went with my mum and stayed 5 nights. We were warmly welcomed when we arrived, taken straight to the bar for welcome drink on the house, much appreciated and the beer glasses are kept in the fridge.
Our room was spotless, breakfast had a good selection and the hotel is 5 minutes from the shops, bars and beach.
Everyone round the pool was friendly and the sunbeds were comfy.

Great to return again and see Michael waiting for us at the airport. The rooms are spotless, the food fantastic, and its like going back to see friends and family there. Great location to get about not only Stalis,but further afield, with the buses running regularly and the bus stops being within a short walking distance. We had a great time for the first week, then unfortunately my Wife was poorly for our second week there, so it restricted what we did. However, we are looking forward to going back in September to sample more of the great hospitality which Michael and his family offers everyone who visits the Filia. Can't recommend it highly enough. We stayed here for 10 nights in May with friends, what a fantastic family run hotel
From arriving we received the best welcome ever (and a welcome drink )
Michael, George and Billy are fantastic hosts, George's BBQ night was amazing, Manos and Maria (and all the staff) are a real credit to the hotel. BBQ night was really good value for money and we had a fantastic night. We really did feel part of the family
We were there B and B , breakfast was really good a great selection both hot and cold. We had a couple of lunches at the hotel which were really good value for money and very tasty.
We had an apartment with a garden view, we were overlooking the main road but there was hardly any road noise. Apartment was a very good size and the shower was the best , bathrooms had recently been refurbished.
As we were there in May we never had any issues getting a sunbed around the pool, mattresses on the beds were the most comfiest ever !
We had a fantastic stay and will definately return, hopefully sooner rather than later

'Another day in Paradise......' I heard a guest say around the pool one morning and i thought what a great title for a review.....
Yet another fantastic holiday at the Filia. We've been coming here since 2007 [see numerous previous reviews] and it was great to see everyone after that awful Covid. We were so pleased to be back.
This year was our special 25th Wedding Anniversary holiday with 12 in our party, with the kids, grandkids, we had a brilliant time. The Filia ticks all the boxes, the rooms are excellent, as is the food and you are made to feel welcome as soon as you are picked up from the airport. There were some familiar faces around the pool, guests return year after year as we do.
Nothing is too much trouble and Manos is doing a great job, looking after everyone and always on hand to help. Aphrodite is a great addition to the team and the friendly cleaning ladies kept everywhere spotless [and i mean spotless]
So thankyou Michael, George, Manos and the Legend that is Billy for the best family holiday ever, brilliant on every level and can't wait to see you again.

Hello the hotel is friendly for people with kinetic dissabilyties.
I’m sure it’s 6.30 till 10 I was there in June but we ate about 7ish
Sorry I actually don’t know about the 3rd block as we stayed in block 1 and 2 but they are both all fitted so I’m assuming block 3 will be the same. Michael will let you know if you e mail him.
