We've just returned from 10 nights - I wish it had been more - in this delightful corner of Crete. For us, it was just about perfect: a serene setting with fabulous sunsets one way and 'that rock' to the other. The 'village' of attractive single storey apartments seems carefully designed, with a charming garden full of little paths and surprises including lots of places to sit. There's a really lovely pool (saltwater I think) where the restaurant is sited, plus the icing on the cake for us, of a little crescent beach, protected by the waves by rocks. The beach is sandy on the shore but rocky underfoot once into the water (you will need aqua shoes) but, there are fish for snorkelling. No sun beds or umbrellas, just a little bit of nature, with sea daffodils blooming to add to our delight. We had a studio (two in fact, as we moved due to a slight disruption which the hotel responded to promptly): these are simply furnished but we didn't come for luxury. The rooms were very clean and equipped with air conditioning (used), TV (not used) an iron (ditto) and hairdryer. The kitchenette had the all-important fridge, a kettle, hotplate, crockery and utensils, plus the nice touch of washing up liquid and a sponge. The bathrooms are small but how long do you stay in one on holiday - and they were spotless. We ate out most nights at the local tavernas or further afield, but did eat at Zorbas a couple of times, and had breakfast on our last day. The food - contrary to one or two reviews - was great. I loved the Greek salads (best I had whilst away) and the chicken souvlaki was plentiful and tasty. Breakfast had all you would want from eggs (boiled and fried) to yoghurt (mmmmm) and honey plus fruit, bread, cereals and pastries. I suppose the only drawback - unless you don't wish to move from the pool or beach - is that you really need a car. It's a hot 20 minute walk to the nearest mini-markets in Stavros where the bus to/from Chania stops, and a further 10 or so to Stavros beach and tavernas there. It was a little frustrating not to have a path across the coast for an evening stroll to work up an appetite or digest. That said, we had a wonderful time and I was very sad to leave, as I am writing this with tears pricking at my eyes. The tranquillity of the place was just what my husband and I needed, to reconnect with each other and play. Crete is a beautiful island, and I'd be tempted to return to Zorbas Beach Village, if only there weren't more places to be discovered. Thank you, I'm so glad I stumbled over this hotel, which deserves more than 2 stars.

We are a family of 4 (2 teenage girls). We visited for 11 nights July-August 2019. We had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday and the hotel is excellent. Pretty little bungalows with spacious terrace 🏠, cleaned daily 👌, gorgeous pool and very clean pool area 🏊🏻‍♂️, decent food at hotel bar 🥙, amazing views out to sea from the pool 🏖, friendly and helpful reception staff ☎️ and fairly quiet 🤫 (one afternoon there was only us and a couple more families at the pool. I would have given 5 stars but there were just a few little things ( nothing major)that would have made our stay even better..... A toaster in the kitchen would be good Air con was only in the main house (where kids beds were) and not in the bedroom which meant that the kids got cold overnight and we were warm. We borrowed pool towels from reception as we hadn’t expected to have to take our own. They only had 3 available and never were able to replace them for clean ones in the whole Holiday (never any clean ones whenever I asked) A little shop on site would be great because we only had a car for 6/11 days and it would have been good to have fresh warm bread each morning without having to go far. We will definitely return to Zorbas (with our own beach towels 😂), it’s been a really great find 👏🏼

I can not recommend Zorba’s highly enough. I had the absolute pleasure of staying here for 2 months while working. It is in a beautiful location with a view of the gorgeous sunset. The rooms are roomy and have everything you need. The staff all go way above and beyond the level of service I have ever seen. The pool is immaculate, the bar is wonderful and a great place to relax and meet fellow travelers. It is truly a hidden gem. The price is unbelievable for what you get, a small private beach, pool, restaurant and free rides to the market. They will organize fantastic excursions for you at the front desk and these are a wonderful opportunity to see al this amazing island has to offer.

I stayed at The Zorbas Beach Village Hotel for 10 days, (2nd July to the 12th) the first 5 days i was with my friend and the last 5 I stayed alone, I felt so safe and comfortable alone here; I knew I had the staff watching out for me! :) The people in this hotel are beyond nice, friendly and caring! The food and drinks are good, the view of the beach is beauts & the sunsets are defo worth a watch. Also free transport to the shop is amazing! The bus stop is not far from the hotel at all, just around the corner. Plenty of excursions on offer! I would recommend this hotel 100%. I will be returning! Thank you to everyone at Zorbas!

We love this place. The rooms are basic but work. The gardens are immaculate and the pool is great. The bar is good and the food is ok, not taverna quality, but still nice(portions are big!). The staff are what make this place really good. All of them without question are friendly and approachable. My daughters are nervous travellers and they have been so relaxed here.
