Have the fortune to stay here for 2weeks in August a lovely chill relaxed place with incredible views. Paul and Christina were very welcoming and explained straight away due to COVID-19 situation that the maid service instead of every day it would be every3 & we could either let them in or do it ourselves ( which we did) and every 3 days a bag would appear with sheets , towels and bin liners etc. We had a studio which was fine for us and a nice patio outside .everyone we met were lovely and all had a lovely time. The pool area was great spotlessly clean plenty of beds, umbrellas &tables. There is an upper level of accommodation as well which is at the main road and if you leave at that exit and turn left within 15 minutes you are in argostoli but maybe not the most convenient if you struggle with mobility. Taxis up and down to argostoli are only€6. If you come out the apartment on the lower level and turn right for a couple of hundred yards and then follow the track down to a cracking wee beach with a cool wee bar and 2 sun beds and a brolly for only€7. Overall the metaxatos apartment are ideally situated for beaches, supermarkets, restaurants and going into argostoli and if you just want to chill at the pool with a cold beer they hade that covered as well. We initially went for a week but extended to 10 days we were having such a lovely time. The apartments are simple but ideal and have everything you need, the beds are comfortable, shower powerful and air con ice cold. The pool and bar area is lovely and the view is incredible. The local Kalamia beach is a 5 min walk and simply stunning, we were lucky to practically have it to ourselves for the 1st week. The Dolphin supermarket is a 5 min walk towards Lassi and opens at 9am. The Kalamia beach bar is now open for drinks and snacks. You can walk over to Argostoli from behind the apartments and it takes approximately 20 to 30 mins. We can recommend the restaurant just down from the apartments Sto Psito and Kamaroules which is down from the Dolphin supermarket, both have incredible views. The beach bar at Gradakia beach is lovely for sunset cocktails as is the pool bar at the apartments. Paul and Christina were so welcoming and it's such a beautiful place we can't wait to go back.

This was our first trip to to beautiful island of Kefalonia. We chose the Metaxatos apartments for a few reasons: 1. Walking distance to 2 lovely beaches. 2. Short transfer from the airport. 3. Short walk to the resort centre, Lassi, and a longer (20 minutes) walk into Argostoli, the capital. 4. All rooms have a sea view. 5. Family owned and run. 6. Amazing reviews on Trip Advisor. 7. Free WiFi throughout
We normally enjoy 2 or 3 foreign holidays each year, usually Cruising, or large 4/5 star resort style hotels.
Our stay at the Mexatasos beats them all hands down!!! Our ground floor studio (number 14) with lovely sea view was amazing. Spotlessly clean, with much needed air conditioning! Cooking facilities were perfect for preparing Al Fresco breakfast and lunch’s.
The pool area is just idyllic, taking advantage of the magnificent views of the sea. A new pool bar area was constructed over the last few months (see picture) and has been done to a very high standard. For Most of the day, the fabulous Katie looks after your every need, from preparing lovely, fresh food, to serving up some lovely cocktails, and of course, my favourite large ice cold Mythos beer in a frosty glass!!! Katie really is a fantastic asset to the business. Christina and Paul who run the apartments are so friendly and welcoming. Always on hand to offer some advice on where to visit, where to eat, best place to hire a car, and share some funny stories.
Their mantra of “Arrive as a guest, leave as a friend” absolutely sums the place up.
When we left to go home, Christina personally saw us off. My wife and I had tears In our eyes as we left. Something that neither of us have felt on any other holiday!

Just returned fron the Metaxatos for the umpteenth time and once again our holiday has exceeded itself! The Metaxatos team go above and beyond to ensure a wonderful,memorable holiday. We have returned feeling very relaxed. We experienced Medicane Ionas which caused major disruption to the island but the management ensured our safety the whole time. We enjoyed meals at Sto Psto, Kefalos and Blue Star restaurants. Katie at the Metaxatos makes the most delicious snacks including pizza.My favourite cocktail is Mango Unchained, it's delicious! Can't wait for next year. Thank you to Christina, Paul, Katie and the Houskeeping staff and Congratulations on the much deserved Trip Advisor 2020 Award!

Stayed end Oct so all very quiet and the resort was essentially closed. However we had a fabulous stay here at Metaxatos. Keti who works here was so welcoming and friendly, helpful with lots of information. The 2 bed apartment was a little dated, but had very comfy beds, essentials in the kitchenette (ie corkscrew / bottle opener and glasses) and a balcony which had views across the bay to Lixouri and increasingly lovely sunsets. We were fortunate with great weather, the pool was chilly but in those famous words 'fine once you're in'. The children loved it and we found ourselves returning every afternoon to use the pool. A little walk into Lassi, only one restaurant open while we were there and thankfully it was excellent and great value - Kefalos. The small bay below Metaxatos has clear water and rocky surrounds but easy to get to down a short track, 5 minutes walk.

We discovered this little rustic gem via "Kefalonia by us" Facebook page. I asked for recommendations in Lassi and everyone recommended here - now I know why!! We had a family room (it was all that was left when I booked) up at the top (yep, loads of steps so be warned if you don't do steps!) with a lovely big terrace with the best sea view and sunsets, spotlessly clean and the biggest shower I've seen in Greece! I loved our "welcoming committee" of the little Jack Russell in his bandana and how he popped round to our room. (Wouldn't suit everyone, but it made my day) If I were to be critical, I'd say the bathroom needed a bit of TLC. But it's the end of season so I guess it's had some hammer! Metaxatos studios isn't posh by a long way, but it has a great pool, spotlessly clean, has basic kitchen facilities if you want to cook and views to die for and we loved the bar and the cocktails. Great banter and lovely, friendly people staying. Great location close to Lassi and Argostoli. Christina & Paul are top hosts and do all they can to ensure you have a great stay, including ordering us a Chinese takeaway which we had on our terrace - perfect! As a travel agent, I get for recommendations all the time, I'll definately be recommending here. 10/10 from us.

We have just returned home following our September holiday at the Metaxatos Apartments for 7th time. Christina, Paul, Katie and the Housekeeping staff are all amazing, they cannot do enough for their guests and go above and beyond to ensure that all of their guests are made to feel special. The locations is perfect, close to many beaches, tavernas, Agostoli and the views are to die for. We can’t wait to return in June 22. Their motto is “Arrive as guests and leave as friends” and you certainly will! We always meet many people that we have made friends with over the years.

Never have I felt so uncomfortable and awkward while on holiday. The owners and bar staff quite frankly treat you like an inconvenience unless you are one of their returning guests. The whole place is unbelievable clicky. On arriving you feel like you’re entering someone’s private party without an invitation! The returning guests sit round the bar like they are entitled vips..judging your every move!
Not the relaxing welcoming atmosphere you would expect on holiday. We experienced bad attitude from the bar staff..when trying to order food it felt like we were a burden on them! On one occasion we were questioned over a bill tab that they had down as needing settling.. we explained we had paid the evening before but this followed with an interrogation from the bar lady.. questioned us multiple times on who we had paid and when..felt like we were being attacked even though we had proof we had paid! During this disagreement over the bill the clicky returning guests decided to pipe up to fight their corner even though it’s absolutely none of their business! After this particular altercation we noticed the bar women speaking with the ground staff who whistled at us in a threatening manor..quite frankly I felt unsafe with my one year old in my arms! If it wasn’t our last evening we would have left and found another hotel..we felt so unsafe and unwelcome!!
We came with our one year old and on looking at the place online we were particular interested in the child’s play area, from the pictures this looks lovely however don’t be fooled…the toys are dirty and broken!! The toy boxes were broken with sharp tubberware corners being very hazardous to a one year old! Also no slide like in the picture! Again they have a football area which could be great for children however it’s not been maintained so it’s not suitable.
The apartments were tired and in need of renovations..consisting of stained bedsheets and mouldy shower curtains. Also don’t expect a hot shower..at most you’ll get a Luke warm one! Pillows and beds were hard and uncomfortable. The noise from the pool bar karaoke and busy road out the front made sleeping very difficult!
Finally if you like wine..this is not the place for you…the only wine available quite frankly looks like engine fuel from your grandads shed!!
Overall I think the owners are quite short sighted..their only concern being their regular holidaymakers..but ultimately there will be a time they no longer return!! To anyone looking to holiday here..don’t be FOOLED..AVOID!!

First thing I will say is the staff and customers are very friendly and helpful and all of our party felt the same. The only thing i feel lets the apartments down is the accommodation. I have visited Greece several times over the years and I am fully aware of the sometimes basic accommodations that can be found. The pictures do not match the rooms. The rooms are very tired and need a lot of TLC. Don't get me wrong they have all you need but that is about it and the cleaning is not the best. There are lots of broken bits of furniture and garden eqpt just left around and an area for broken bits was not hidden from view. The pool has a dirty water mark around the steps which is visible. There are mismatched bits of this and that and rusty furniture dotted around and the TVs and pictures in the rooms have not been hung staright. That said you get what you pay for and the holiday wasn't overly expensive. Not a bad location near to Lassi strip and the beaches walkable. It is so frustrating as the place is so friendly and people return year after year however this could be so.much more with just some time, effort and attention to detail. If you are wanting somewhere cheap and cheerful and nothing more then this is the place for you.

Another wonderful stay at these fabulous apartments. The apartment, whilst small, is perfectly formed, with good free aircon, a free safe, comfortable beds and pillows, and a great shower. The pool is lovely, plenty of sunbeds with a great pool bar serving great food and drinks. Christina, Paul and Katie always greet you with a smile, and make you feel very welcome. The apartments are in the perfect location for the bars and restaurants of Lassi, and also if you want to venture to Argostoli. I definitely recommend these apartments when visiting the area
