We were on a Macs Adventures hike from Portaria to Milles and stopped for one night at the Lost Unicorn Hotel. After a hot and thirsty day hiking we were so glad to reach the hotel. We were not disappointed. The hotel is really an antique collectors dream. Beautifully decorated with pieces from all over the world. Our host Claire made us feel most welcome and we felt so privileged to share her space. Her husband is a chef extrordinnaire and we had the best meal of our whole trip that evening. The township is also very pretty and we shared a quiet drink in the square under the 1,000 year old Plane tree. We thoroughly recommend this place.

My wife and I visited during a walking holiday and wished we could have stayed more nights. Clare and Christos were hospitable and welcoming hosts. The hotel has a quirky almost magic feel to it with roof garden and hidden terraces complete with a tree house! The decor is one of multiple eras and collections. I would not be surprised if one of their wardrobes leads to Narnia. We left something behind and the owners went out of their way to find us and get it back to us. Such willingness to help their guests is exceptional in any country. The breakfast was amazing. Sadly the restaurant was closed when we were there. This would have topped a very special stay.

We return to The Lost Unicorn every year and are treated as family. Staff are lovely and have been there for at least the last 12 years. Owners are wonderful as well. Rooms not spacious, but very comfortable with excellent beds and windows. The roof top terrace and the lounges are delightfully comfortable. The food is especially of a top quality which would qualify as top Michelin Stars. The setting is a dream come true. So. Yes. I love this place and will continue to return.

I can truly say that I cannot think of any place I have ever been where I feel so surrounded by elegance and beauty as I do when I am at The Lost Unicorn. I've stayed here many times over the years and the food has always been excellent (both breakfast and dinner) and this year they have even managed to surpass the excellence of previous years. For dinner, they have a good choice of vegetarian and vegan options, as well as wonderful dishes with duck, chicken, lamb and beef. For the main course, I had Portobello Mushroom stuffed with Spinach, which was mouth-wateringly amazing. My husband had the chicken dish, which he says was exceptionally good. "The best chicken I have ever tasted" was his exact comment! And the Chocolate Cheesecake dessert was outrageously good.

We spent 4 wonderful nights at the Lost Unicorn hotel and enjoyed every minute of it, including the amazing garden for a lush breakfast and 2 delicious dinners. We also made the most of the roof terrace and acute advice from Clare of the hiking trails nearby, a fabulous stay altogether!

There are no new photos of the rooms for a reason! I don’t know which one is more outdated: the random racist remarks of the lady who checked us in or the rooms in this hotel… The hotel has a very charming look from outside as does the village it is located but once you get inside, first the smell of the mold hits you, then the unpleasant hosts… If you’re looking for value for less and/or comfort for more, this is neither of them. In case you’re really fascinated with the unicorns and the greenery outside, just stay at any other place in the village and come to take photos of this one.

If you like unusual. If you like being cared for like close family. If you love waking up and going to sleep surrounded by beauty. If you like absolutely delicious breakfasts. If you like great showers, lovely bedclothes, cute little balconies. Then this gem is for you. Thank you Clare and Christos. You have a beautiful, no, gorgeous hotel. We loved being your guests.

Beautiful hotel almost in the middle of nowhere. Visited in autumn without a car and there are plenty of wonderful paths and forest walks to enjoy around. Super quiet and the ambience is perfect for couples or a family getaway. The setting is amazing, full of green (there's a treehouse too!), the aesthetic of the hotel is breathtaking, so relaxing and full of things to do (books, board games, activities etc). Breakfast is rich and yummy, dinner on the terrace is equally delicious! Very picturesque and classy overall, makes you not want to leave. Perfect for any season, will definitely go back!

An unusual combination of the boutique and the rather grand. Lots of atmosphere. The hotel is in a verdant and peaceful mountainous setting. Clare, who runs it with her Greek husband, Cristof, showed me up to a very comfortable room and made some sensible suggestions about how to spend my week. So I spent a day walking, a day touring the peninsular, and so on. On day four I located a deserted cove with an olive grove leading down to the sea between Horto and Milina which was idyllic. All amenities are to hand and a very generous breakfast served up in the morning. Exceptionally good value for money. Must be one of the best hotels by far in Pelion.

Amazing place and ambience, a hidden little treasure. Beautiful plants and garden, it’s like you’re in a fairytale. The food is very tasty and as a vegetarian I was very surprised at the amount of options available to eat. The vegetarian burgers are a must and house made pita! Service is really friendly and welcoming. Would highly recommend.
