This place is absolutely amazing and not to be missed. The building is a wonderful piece of history that has been remarkably restored. Our room was spacious with a large living area and two bathrooms as well as a fully functioning kitchen. The property is centrally located in Val d’Orcia with easy access to all of the hill towns, wineries, and historic sites. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming, breakfast was delightfully satisfying with many choices made to order. The views from the property are stunning, it’s surrounded by the incredible Tuscan landscape. It is the absolute perfect place to experience this incredible part of the world!

I had really high expectations from this agriturismo and it was a bit of a disappointment, though still within reasons. This review is about the La Grancia side, as there are different accommodations within the castle. The best feature is undoubtedly the setting: it's a stunning castle in the middle of the equally stunning Val d'Orcia; there is a bio swimming pool that is really gorgeous, surrounded by lush and well-kept gardens. Our room was on the first floor, with quite low ceilings as it was under-eaves, and a slightly outdated design, although it sort of merged well with the overall antique vibe of the location. The room was also clean and spacious. The main disappointment was indeed due by the staff behaviour, particularly the check-in lady, who was a bit blunt and not the most cordial and friendly hostess. Throughout our stay, we felt like we were treated slightly different from other guests - probably solely because we weren't locals or particularly liked by her, with no apparent reason. It became obvious also that other guests were receiving a much more warmer welcome than us and, although we weren't treated impolitely, we received a more distant and colder approach. This was particularly evident at breakfast, when some customers were greeted kindly and served in advance than others, regardless of whether they have arrived before or after. Nevertheless, a positive mention goes to one waitress, who I believe was an employee and not part of the general family running the business, who was very polite, treated everyone equally and was very professional. Breakfast was very various and in good quantity, although some of the cakes were a bit stale and dry, but nothing too outregeous. Prices are in line with the region, which is not cheap. In the end, the whole experience wasn't bad, though I would have expected a service in line with the great location and I was a tad disappointed.

“This was the most beautiful place we have ever stayed. The owner and all of the staff were exceptional. The grounds provided multiple areas to relax and enjoy the gorgeous views, with a pool and play area for children. We plan on returning some day with our kids and grand kids. The location is an easy drive to multiple towns, Pienza, Montepulciano, & Monticello to name a few. The breakfast buffet was phenomenal! The best B&B we have ever experienced.”

We enjoyed each minute of our staying in this place. It's a perfect place to start exploring Tuscany, especially Val D’Orcia. The room is big and clean, the surroundings are beautiful, the staff is friendly and helpful. We'll return as soon as we have the chance.

We stayed there 3nights. When you think of tuscany you have in mind a place to stay like this one. Beautiful “houses”, wonderful decoration and flowers everywhere! Our room was large, bed was so comfortable, great wifi connection, warm room and water. Breakfast was amazing, their wine was so tasty too. The farmhouse is in the heart of tuscany, very close to many famous spots. Most important of all, owners were amazing people. They were so kind and helped us with all we needed! We would visit it again for sure. Totally recommend it!!

This place is absolutely gorgeous with brilliant service. Its set in the beautiful Tuscan area of Val D'Orcia. The rooms are clean, cozy and beautiful. You actually feel like living in a castle. Alice, who is the owner and manages the property is extremely helpful. She will help you plan your day, recommend restaurants and places to visit. She will even make reservations. Her mother and grandmother are so lovely and they prepare the breakfast which is delicious. I would recommend this hotel/castle 100% for everyone

I had a wonderful time for a couple of nights. Cozy bedrooms and tasty breakfast. The location is very good for visiting places such as Montalcino, Montepulciano, Bagno Vignoni, San Galgano. Highly recommended :)

Agriturismo La Grancia is a room rentals structure in Spedaletto in the same compound of Agriturismo Spedaletto which is a complex including a 1300 Castle just a separate management. The Grancia rooms are those in the building on the left as soon as you enter the complex, and includes rooms on the ground floor and 1st floor, a common kitchenette where you can make your own coffee or tea and store your stuff in the Frigidaire (but you cannot cook), a common area with a large table and chairs and WiFi is free and worked perfectly. The room was on the ground floor, it was large and comfortable with window opening on a private seating area outside. Cotto stone floors and high ceiling with wooden beams. No safebox in our room so keep note of it. TIP: You are in the countryside, it is normal to find some bugs here and there, the outside premises is full of plants and flowers therefore there are mosquitoes and bees so if you get bitten I suggest to bring mosquitoes repellants it will be very helpful. The breakfast is served in a lovely large room on a long table in a different structure you walk to. Homemade cakes made by the lovely owner Cinzia who makes also nice fresh eggs taken from her own chickens. She will prepare your cappuccino and eggs and you will also enjoy local cured meats, tomatoes, toasted bread cheese and more. To makes it clear for other guests this is not an Hotel but more of a room rental, Cinzia will go over and beyond to accommodate you but keep in mind you have to be organized because you are in the middle of nowhere so plan accordingly. Also, you will need a car to get to this area, no way around without . There is a small restaurant open at lunch only in the compound . The whole complex is very cute there is a lot of green, a bio lake where you can bathe in but has to follow the rules because it is a natural pond with plants and you have to shower before getting in and not use sunscreen or lotions you may compromise the waters and the plants. There is plenty of space to walk, lounge chairs and little cute gazebos to relax. Cinzia the owner and her daughter Alice are exquisite women very friendly and open minded. The structure has also an adjacent mill where you can buy homemade products. The major attractions are close by: Pienza is very close as well as Bagno Vignoni and San Quirico D’Orcia and you can also reach Montalcino and other small famous towns. Thank you Cinzia !

Dear Alicia, we enjoyed our stay so much at La Grancia. Your Mother is so amazing at running the breakfast buffet, the food was so delicious. Your Nonna’s baking also was incredible. The Castle & grounds were kept meticulously. We stayed in the Molino building & our room was on top floor. It was big & beautifully done & with a Gorgeous view. We got to relaxed at local hot springs and enjoyed exploring nearby Monteriggioni, Monticchiello & Montepulciano. Just the perfect location! Than you so much,,,

We spent 3 days in may in this wonderful place - very quet with amazing views and plants! In a morning you can hear birds, very tasty breakfast from the owner of the castel. We spent here only late evenings, nights and early mornings and it was like in a paradise! Very recommend for travellers with a car.
