Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our favorite place in the world to visit and the only place in Europe we have returned to. Pinuccia is just a lovely, beautiful woman and makes sure you are treated like family. We LOVE this dear woman and the magical place she offers.

Le Traverse, a B&B, that's located in the heart of the Val d'Orcia Region of central Tuscany, is a delightful, warm and beautiful property. This is the second time I have stayed at this B&B - once in 1997 and recently this past October, with my husband. Our beautifully appointed one-bedroom, had a bathroom and shower, where you walk out the door each morning, to the quaint town of Pienza. It's a gorgeous view that one can take in and say, "Yes, I'm in Italy, I must pinch myself." Italy touches my heart on each visit. Le Traverse is set in an idyllic location and the Signora assists guests in advance, or upon your arrival, with recommendations/reservations for restaurants, cooking classes, wine tours, etc. She is a wealth of information and experience and is very well-known in the Orcia Valley. If you want to book cooking classes or wine adventures, I do recommend booking with Pinuccia in advance. We spent six wonderful nights in Tuscany and at Le Traverse. October weather is perfect. Did I mention the warm and delicious breakfasts that are served each morning? Fresh eggs, homemade jams and warm cakes and tarts that fill you up all while enjoying the fresh air and amazing scenery of the Tuscany valley. You may also order olive oil and the jams that are harvested all from the Le Traverse working farm. This B&B is delightful, has a pool and several rooms, which make it a "boutique" spot. I highly recommend Le Traverse and the entire area in and around Pienza.

This was my first time visiting in the fall...always went in the spring...just as special and beautiful...jaw dropping views everywhere you look. The rooms are lovely and very clean. Our hostess is so charming and helpful...all she wants is for you to feel it is your home away from home and will do whatever she can to insure you feel that way. The breakfasts are delicious and always include her home made cakes as well as her homemade jams. Le Traverse and the surrounding Val Di Orcia should be on everyone’s list to visit...the location, beauty and hospitality are top notch...

We spent 3 wonderful days with Pinuccia. What a wonderful hostess! Great experience and wonderful location. She helped arrange wine tastings and dinner reservations in towns around the area. We were able to visit a variety of towns and see the beautiful countryside. Our only regret is not spending more time at Le Traverse. The breakfasts were wonderful and served with a smile every morning.

We recently enjoyed a week at Le Traverse, and were thrilled. The setting and the accomodations were fabulous. Pinuccia, the owner, made everything comfortable and welcoming from the fresh fruit and just-baked breakfasts to her help with our daily outings. She made our stay a truly memorable experience.

This was our second visit to Le Traverse and I was worried things would not be as fantastic as I remembered. On the contrary, this visit was just as wonderful as the first. The location is beautiful, the rooms are all so lovely and the breakfasts (enjoyed outdoors in a beautiful setting) were delicious and included a different freshly baked cake every morning. But the owner, Pinuccia herself, makes the visit the most special. She is a fountain of knowledge of the area and very attentive without being overbearing. She makes every guest feel welcome and cared for. Her restaurant recommendations were stellar and so very helpful. You will not regret a visit to this heavenly place!

Everything was perfect, the setting, the breakfast, the charming and informative owner/hostess. The view is outstanding and the rooms so wonderfully done with special details. Pinnucia will always have a special place in my travel memories because of her personality, attention to detail and the time at breakfast she spent with us. Do not miss a stay here.

We just returned from staying two nights at Le Traverse with my brother and his wife. This was our second trip to this beautiful place. Starting with the gracious hospitality of the host Pinuccia and the beautiful cottages along with the outstanding views it is hard to find any negatives with Le Traverse. The cottages our beautifully equipped with everything you could possibly need. Having breakfast served right outside under a trellis over looking her beautiful Olive Fields is breathtaking .Pinuccia goes out her way to make sure you have information on places to go and helps you with any types of reservation you may need. We also got to enjoy the beautiful pool that Le Traverse offers. I would highly recommend Le Traverse and hope to return to this beautiful place. Thanks Pinuccia for making our stay so memorable.

Myself and my husband stayed for 1 week in July 2017 for our belated honey moon. A friend of mine who lived in Florence for 11 years being a private tour organiser recommended me as "the best view in Tuscany", and that was just true. We enjoyed the view from Le Traverse every single moment, sitting down in front of our room opening a bottle we bought from wine tasting a day before or dipping ourselves in the swimming pool. The location is perfect to drive around for wine tasting and also many beautiful villages to take a walk. We had the best breakfasts in Italy, too. Every morning for 1 week, we had different freshly home-made cake every day. As the owner Mrs.Pinuccia told us "the 60% of the reason for the food to taste good is when it's freshly made", everything is cooked just before served with fresh ingredients. All are so simple, including her famous home-made jam and olive oil, but all are perfect. And the true treasure of Le Traverse is the owner, Pinuccia. Her hospitality, warm heart, and her funny stories in the morning... she made our honeymoon totally memorable. The reason I didn't put "excellent" on room & value are if you look for a luxurious hotel room or a cheaper B&B, there are another ones. But still, Le Traverse is the best of the best. If I raise 1 possible issue for some people, the wifi connection is not good. But the view and the tranquility make you want to go on digital detox anyway so I felt it was even better. We will go back to stay and see her.

This is my 4th stay at Le Traverse and a very special one. My wife and I took our 3 sons and their 3 beautiful wives to celebrate all of their 25th anniversaries. Yes, they were all married in the same year. We used all four rooms. Pinnucia was a gracious and welcoming hostess to all of us. Our children finally got to meet our favorite Italian aristocrat. They loved her. It was such a treat to once again be with her and have her spoil us. Because this was a special trip I asked her to help me plan our stay. She planned most of our meals and daily excursions. It could not have been more perfect. The accommodation were as before 5 star and the kids loved the pool. Thank you Pinuccia for a wonderful stay. Ciao, ciao Chuck [USA]
