We stayed for a week as the weather was perfect. The site is down a small road that ends at the estuary. Outside the gate is a long beach backed by eucalyptus trees. A short bike ride takes you into the resort of Laredo which has a magnificent beach. The staff are very friendly. The toilet block is cleaned several times a day. The showers can't be faulted. Cheap and cheerful site restaurant provides simple meals based on meat, eggs and chips! Highly recommended.

Stayed here for one night on our way to the Costa Dorada. Unfortunately arrived in torrential rain, so pitches were muddy as expected. Lovely campsite with Spanish and international guests. Given the conditions on our arrival, we could not of asked more from the staff running this campsite. The lady on reception was very friendly and welcoming. Set ourselves up on the pitch and headed to the bar/restaurant for our evening meal. A limited menu, but food and atmosphere was excellent. The young man who appeared to be the waiter in the restaurant was excellent., friendly and helpful.

We plan to stay here when we leave in four weeks time.

Stayed at Camping Playa de Regaton for 9 nights in early July. I had made booking about 4 months prior to our stay asking for a pitch with a view of the sea and on arrival that's exactly what we got. In high season this is a busy site but nonetheless well run and tidy. It's frequented mainly by Spanish . The pitches are of average size on grass or sandy soil. There is one toilet block that is kept remarkably clan and fresh despite the heavy usage. Showers were always hot no matter what time of day we used them. There is a small on site shop selling good fresh breads and a small bar and restaurant with limited menu. The site is close enough to Laredo to be reached by a pleasant walk along the estuary beach and hence onto the main beach at Laredo. The site is very well placed for day trips to Santander and Bilbao and the small coastal villages in between. All in all would recommend this site highly as being a clean, friendly, well run campsite.

Laredo is a lovely beach town in northern Spain. During the winter months very few people visit Laredo, however, in the summer lots of tourists come to vacation for weeks, months, or the full season.
Laredo has plenty of restaurants, offering mainly seafood, hams and sausages from the region, cheese and fresh vegetables and fruit. The “verdulerías” have fresh produce of the best quality, it is quite an experience to buy in these little shops with such a good selection of everything that is grown around town.
Every night during the season there is music in the plazas and by the beach, people stroll around eating ice cream or churros and having a good time till past midnight.
The beach is where people spend most of the day, the water is a little cold for my taste, however it warms up a little when the days are hot.
Tourists are mostly from Central Spain and France.

As a family we were on one of our forts camping experiences. The cleanliness of the place and its bathrooms in particular, courtesy of reception staff and type of guests (families rather than partying youths), made for an enjoyable couple of nights and encouraged us to continue camping.
Good breakfast at the bar

We stayed here for a couple of nights after taking the ferry to Santander. It was an excellent choice for this. The site is slightly away from the town of Laredo, but you can easily walk to the outskirts where there are a few bars & restaurants. The centre of town is a bike ride or drive away. It is worth cycling there down the promenade along the amazing main town beach. The site itself is on the estuary and also has a lovely sandy beach. I did see a couple of people swimming in the estuary, but most people on the shore were on horses (from the amazing riding centre close by) or walking dogs. You could walk for miles along the shore if you wanted and the surrounding scenery was stunning, especially in the evening – one of the best sunsets I’ve ever seen! The town centre of Laredo is worth a visit, but the rest of the town is just huge blocks of flats and extremely ugly! Thankfully you can’t see the town from the site.
All of the staff at the site were very helpful and friendly, especially considering my almost total lack of Spanish. There is a small supermarket and a bar / café serving very tasty pizzas which we had on the first evening. There was one of the strongest wifi signal I’ve ever had on a campsite at our pitch – however, we were quite close to Reception, it may not be so good further away I suppose. The showers and toilets were perfect, modern and very clean – I wish all campsite facilities were this good! There appeared to be some activities on offer (a paddleboard competition was going on when we arrived), but we didn’t get involved and so can’t comment on them.
The pitches had plenty of space and were very flat. Each pitch has its own sink which was a bit of a novelty and very convenient. A lot of the pitches appeared to be seasonal pitches, complete with caravans, huge awnings and kitchen tents, but there was enough of a mix that we didn’t feel out of place with our tent. It was quite noisy the first night we were there, but far more peaceful the following night.
We would definitely use this site again for a stop-over from the ferry. It would also make a good base for exploring the area.

We stayed here for 2 nights, its a short drive from Santander and easy to find. The facilities were very good, no swimming pool but we didnt really want one. Laredo town has a lot going on but the site is probably too far to walk it, but there is a Lidl supermarket 25 minutes walk away. There are are some bars and restaurants within walking distance if you head past the horses and ponies towards the main beach. Theres a pretty well stocked shop on site and a cafe/bar that we didnt use. Stunning views of the mountains and a beach are a stones throw away. Good value at just over 20 euro/night, decent size pitches, all with their own sinks and very few English if you find that appealing!

Excellent site, magnificent views, helpful staff who speak Englisht, 10A Electricity, sinks, water and drainage on site, lovely bar and restaurant open 15.15 to Midnight, Shop and Reception open till 10.00 pm, excellent sanitary facilities. Dogs in small area, but not July or August. Easy walk through the town to Laredo or a wonderful walk up the beach. It took 40 minutes to drive from this site to Bilbao Ferry and they opened up the gates early to allow us early access.

A very well run site. This is a small uncommercial site and immaculate in appearance. Super clean shower block and brand new facilities.
The staff are so friendly and happy and work hard. Deserving of a mention is the maintenance man who works constantly to keep the site clean and tidy.
The location is beautiful by the side of the estuary and the pitches are well shaded. Easy access to the beach.
Each pitch has its own sink which was so handy. A good restaurant and well stocked shop.
Wi fi was pretty good in comparison to other sites we visited.
Highly recommended.
Thank you to the staff for all your dedication and commitment to ensuring everyone has a good stay.

We used our bikes 🚲, from the site, it is easy & a short cut through town to the fab wide promenade, which has a cycle path along it, down into town ! Most roads are one way, so if you use those to cut through, i’m Nervous on my bike 🚲 over here in UK, but loved it over there !!

La playa que está en Laredo es muy grande, con un paseo marítimo y con la arena finita, al principio no cubre.
