All five ensuite bedrooms are very spacious and all the comforts expected of a high quality guesthouse are included. Coombe House has a stunning sea view and private enclosed garden where guests can sit, relax and take in the views. It also has ample carparking, unusual for the area. Coombe House is within easy walking of the beaches, coastal paths and amenities that Kingsand and Cawsand have to offer. Mount Edgcumbe Country Park is also right on its doorstep. It's often the little things that make the difference when it comes to hospitality and this is why Coombe House keeps scoring so highly. Jen works very hard and discreetly to ensure her guests are happy and that's a real talent. In our case, a couple of very simple things as examples. We asked for fresh milk for tea on day one and put it in our flask. We didn't need to ask again. Jen just automatically emptied the flask and refilled it each day, even thought to keep it in her fridge on the warm day until we got back.
We carry a lot of kit and usually go self catered so were nervous about being confined to one room in a B&B. But having mentioned our wetsuits, Jen immediately showed us an outdoor tap and washing line to use as we wanted. Her washing was on the line one day when we returned from the sea laden with kit. Two seconds later, she was out clearing the line for us. These are the kind of small gestures that make a big difference. Add in everything others have mentioned - spotlessly clean, spacious rooms, generous well-cooked breakfast, perfect location on the edge of lovely village - makes this a great choice. If you don't fancy the 10 minute walk back up from the sea, there's a carpark in the village which is a fiver for the day. We didn't have any trouble parking on the days we drove in. The Rame peninsula is a fantastic bit of Cornwall with lots of charm and not much tack and we felt so pleased to return to Cawsand after excursions. We really hope to return and would highly recommend Coombe House. Go for the family room if you're a couple who like space, not just if you have kids. It was lovely.

Hi Mandy and Chris, I really am overwhelmed by the generosity of your review, so lovely and so detailed and it has really made the very difficult last year so very worth it, just to hear that the little things do matter and are not taken always for granted. It was a pleasure from the day I spoke with you when you initially booked until we met, I knew you were a very special couple and I hope you will return to our Happy Place again one day. All the best, Jen and Allen

We had a fantastic time at this lovely B&B, staying for five nights in mid-August. The room was very comfortable, and Jen could not have been more helpful before and during our stay. She booked us places at local restaurants in advance, knowing that these would be busy, and made us a packed lunch for our walks each day at the very reasonable price of £2 each. She was amazing at breakfast, taking everyone's order in turn and paying special attention to the needs of children, while her husband Alan prepared the food, all of it delicious, including excellent coffee (normally there is a buffet in addition to the cooked breakfast, but this method of serving has been discontinued because of Covid-19 restrictions). The house is beautifully located overlooking the bay of Kingsand and Cawsand, and is near the road going down to these picturesque Cornish villages (where there are many excellent pubs and restaurants). You can visit this area without a car, as there is a regular bus service to Kingsand and Cawsand, and around the Rame peninsular, from central Plymouth once an hour. We strongly recommend Coombe House for those wanting to explore the beautiful Rame peninsular.

Thank you Gordon and Susan, I hope your walking continued and you did seem to manage to pack so much into your short break in Kingsand and Cawsand. You were both a pleasure to spend time with and I am pleased the packed lunches kept you going. There are still more walks for you to explore! You both take care, Jen and Allen

There can be few hosts as committed to making a stay memorable, successful and enjoyable as Jen and Allen. We were three families, including five children, 5 and under and older father and mother of the bride.Jen from the moment we arrived made it clear that nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were perfectly prepared, breakfasts consumed by all with gusto and the preparations for the bride to leave for Plymouth Cathedral treated with patience and assistance. An extra room was laid on for the make up and hair since we could not obtain access to venue until after the ceremony. This is how you recognise a genuine host and we will definitely return.

Thank you so much Kathryn and Andy, your adorable twin boys, mum and dad, Laura, Martin and children. What a very special family you are and it was so lovely to be a part of that on your wedding day. Just so pleased we could help with the room being free for you, you and Andy had worked so hard behind the scenes, after a year of COVID uncertainty, to make your weekend and actual wedding day so perfect for friends and family. I hope you will return one day when you can chill and relax and see more of the beautiful area we are fortunate to live in. Your mum and dad should be very proud. Take care, Jen and Allen

A beautiful location with excellent parking and only a few minutes walk to the village and sea.
The host Jeanette was so welcoming and friendly. We stayed in a large family room with a sea view, the room was spotless, beautifully decorated, comfy beds and a good sized bathroom.
A very generous and well presented breakfast was served each day.
We will definitely stay here again.

I don’t usually write reviews but I feel I need to for Coombe house as I had a really lovely stay! I arrived at the b&b around half an hour before check in time stated, I was happy to sit in the car and wait but jen came out and welcomed me into the b&b. Helped me up the stairs with my bags and showed me the room. The room was absolutely lovely, I noticed from walking through the rooms were all different colour themes and the ornaments and accessories were such a lovely touch, made it feel very homely.
The location is stunning, you can see the bay from the front door and is a short walk into the little village and to the beach.
Jen organised my taxi, I was visiting for a wedding and even offered to make my dinner reservations, a service I’ve never received from any accommodation I’ve stayed in before.
A few days before I was due to go my mum fell Ill and I didn’t know if I’d be able to make the wedding, Jen was so accommodating with moving my dates and when I found I could make the wedding Jen moved them back for me with no trouble.
Such a relaxing location, very quiet. Lovely fields next door, full of cows! Jen recommended places to visit and things to do which was so helpful as I didn’t know anything in the area.
I’m not a big breakfast eater but I saw some others and it did look lovely. There was a selection of cereals and juices which is more me!
I’m summary I’d definitely return to Coombe house I can’t wait to organise my next trip down.

Hi Sam, I don’t know what to say, thank you so much for your amazing review and you were so lovely to have stay too. Just pleased mum was ok and you could get down for the wedding eventually. You certainly saw the sights whilst you were here and I think chilled a little too. Maybe bring mum back when she is well enough, that would be nice. You both take care too, Jen and Allen

I chose this B&B because it is very close to Mount Edgcumbe House and Country Park and because of the positive reviews. My son was getting married in Mount Edgcumbe House with the reception in the Orangery. I had booked 2 rooms which were located closest to the road, one at the front with a view of the bay and the other at the rear with a view of the garden. You wouldn't know you were next to the road because there was zero traffic noise. I stayed in the room at the rear of the property. The room was very nicely presented and very comfortable. The breakfast each morning was cooked to order and very good quality. Jen was a very helpful and welcoming host. If you are ever looking to stay in this area of Cornwall I highly recommend this B&B. From the initial booking to arriving at Coombe House B&B and leaving Jen and Alan were perfect hosts. Jen kept us inform with regards to the pandemic situation and we were fortunate enough to arrive weeks after the restrictions were reduced.
The house is less that a miles walk from the sea front up a hill and from our room you could see the harbour. There is a lovely garden that you could sit drink coffee of eat pizza in, as we did. From our arrival we were shown to our room, we were in the Edgcumbe room at the front of the house which was a family room and was immaculately clean with a full size kettle, tea coffee making facilities. There was also an iron, ironing broad and a proper hair dryer. The bathroom had a double shower with complimentary toiletries. There was plenty of off road parking. The breakfast was a full English, either single or double with fruit and cereal also available. Jen was very attentive and interested in your day where you had been an also had a good knowledge of what to do in the area if you felt stuck.
we really liked it at Coombe House, it had a very relaxed atmosphere and you felt part of the family.
From Coombe House you can explore Dartmoor and Northern Cornwall all just over an hours drive away if you wish, equally Looe and Polpero and within easy driving reach. Cawsand / Kingsand is a delightful Cornish village to explore and has more there than first meets the eye.

Rooms are lovely very spacious with good ensuite. The location is gorgeous overlooking Cawsand Bay and I spent an afternoon sunbathing in the garden watching the birds and an evening watching the bats. We will definitely come back
