We had a meal for two in the restaurant, didnt fancy the usual Chinese or Indian this time although Blue Spice is excellent, I had the Sea Bass dish, my Partner had a beef dish osso buco, both were well presented and superbly cooked, we didnt like where we were originally seated and asked the waitress for a table swop,...

Staying for just the one night on business, I wanted something a bit more homely than the Village or similar large hotel. The Broadoak fitted the bill perfectly - clean spacious rooms, free wifi, friendly staff and they serve a good pint! Only slight negative was that they bill the restaurant as 'gastropub' but food and menu was fairly standard...

We wanted somewhere nice to stay not too far from the Velodrome. The room was large and really well decorated with everything we needed. The bed was so comfy! The whole place is very smart and clean and the staff are very friendly. We had a delicious evening meal. It was a Saturday night and the restaurant was full and...

Visited the restaurant for the first time today, with my wife. Had an enjoyable meal, in a nice environment, served by friendly staff. We had cheese & onion pie, my wife's favourite. The food was excellent quality, in fact one of the best cheese & onion my wife has had. Reasonably priced, and good quality, what more could you want....

Annual visit to the Broadoak was great. New ownership but regular staff. Our meal was perfect, the soup was served piping hot, delicious, this was folowed by turkey, stuffing and vegetables. Mine couldnt be faulted. Ths was followed by strawberry cheesecake. We then had mincepies and coffee. There was also a complimentary glass of wine or fruit juice. The meal...

The room was quite nice, the table also, but the Seniors Lunch Portions were very small. The fish was tiny and there were only approximately 6 chips with each plate. The Melon starter was hard . The pate was really nice as was the piri piri chicken pasta. Talking to people who had food off the ordinary menu not the...

Booked a Christmas party for 30 food, drink and a few of the rooms. We couldn't have been looked after better. The staff were attentive and helpful. The food was fantastic. This is the best venue we have attended. Thanks, and we have booked for next year already.

Sadly, all the terrible reviews you've read about this hotel are true. Our experience was one of the worst we've had over the last 20 years anywhere in the world. Amongst other things, it included: 1. A very short notice downgrading of our room. 2. A deafening disco downstairs until 11.30pm. 3. An abusive, aggressive and almost physical confrontation with...
