We wanted a quiet weekend away with plenty to do without using the car. This was ideal. If you want modern and sleek this isn't for you but if you want olde worlde charm, warm, cosy and friendly (not to mention a great selection of gins!) then this will hit the spot!

If you are a gin lover like myself then the friars is the place for you! Endless amounts of gin, great knowledge from the bar man and even better accompaniments! This place knows their gin. It is also very cozy inside, the snug bar adds a homely feel to socialising out with friends. I think it's a hidden little gem... More

We've walked past this little pub on many occasions but finally went in a couple of weeks ago. It's tucked away down a little alley way which we sometimes use as a short cut. Why didn't we go in earlier? We like our real ales and The Friars serves three really good ales. The staff are great, really friendly and... More

Visited for a very late lunch, early supper after a day out in Shropshire. Excellent selection of gins and cocktails. Pleasant courtyard and the food, although limited was excellent. Well worth a visit!

Have stayed here several times and always had a good experience. This time was for the Firties weekend on the Severn Valley Railway. Lovely staff, very attentive. Rooms are fine for a short stay with every thing you need for an overnight stop. Will be back again.
