This is a quality BnB. We cannot commend it too highly. Denise and David are the kind of hosts we especially appreciate. They are very friendly and willing to give plenty of information and advice on things to do, where to go, etc. But they are not intrusive; they gave us our space which was so relaxing. Getting that balance right is not easy. Set in farmland and woodland, Knockbain House has beautiful walks. David provided us with a useful map of the farm which had the routes of the walks marked. The garden around the house is very well laid out and was full of colour when we were there for three nights in late August, early September. Breakfast was excellent. So, too, was an evening meal that Denise cooked for us on our first night. We were the first guests there after the easing of lockdown, and the required sanitisers, etc, were well provided.

Two nights at the end of our tour of Scotland and a lovely room with a sitting area and great views over the garden. Breakfast was well prepared and served. The Locketts were very helpful with information about the area and made us really welcome. Learnt all about robotic lawn mowers!

Knockbain House is a wonderful B & B, set in a serene and beautiful setting. David, Denise and Twiggy (the little dog with a sweet tooth) were excellent hosts, with lots of maps and expert knowledge of the area. There are even several nice walks directly from the house. Our bedroom had a comfortable bed, as well as a sitting area with a sofa and TV. Our personal priorities include quiet surroundings, a good shower and wifi. Knockbain House easily had all of these. We stayed 4 nights and still didn't have enough time to see all we wished to see. This area is so full of history as well as beautiful scenery.

The Lockets are welcoming and friendly hosts; house is in a lovely setting; superbly comfortable sitting/bedroom. Breakfast was excellent, and we watched a Woodpecker feeding from the bird table. Unreserved recommendation.
