Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My family and I enjoyed our stay at Tulloch Castle. We enjoyed our trip to Loch Ness which was not far from the castle. Food was great and staff was very pleasant. The staff made our stay very welcoming. Especially, Liam our bartender. He made our evening very enjoyable.

Had a great time at Tulloch Castle Hotel!! Liam was a great bartender!!! He gave good recommendations for whisky and beer. Rooms were spacious and the fire place was nice. My wife raved about the fish and chips. The place was quite and the beds were comfortable.

I'm afraid it wasn't what I expected . I thought it was in the country by itself but very nervous council housing. Also there are no rear gardens to walk round . The green lady bar was a fortune for drinks especially the mixers. The meals were really expensive for what they were. It was very busy with people walking back and forth to reception areas where we sat . All in all really didn't verify paying 154 pnds a night for bed and breakfast . As for the ghosts I think they have left.

A warm welcome awaits you here , staff are excellent , rooms are lovely and clean , warm and comfortable , the dinner was lovely , not a lot of items on the menu but I’d rather have something done well than have an extensive menu and half the things not available , the breakfast was huge and very good . We were encouraged to have a good look round the castle and check out all the places , the hall , oak room , dungeon and the museum .

We thought it would be fun to stay in a castle but it wasn’t. We had to carry 4 suitcases up a large number of stairs ourselves. The room was quaint. It was cold in there because apparently they had ran out of gas. We had a flat tire in town and could not get a ride back to the hotel and the hotel staff was unwilling to help us. We were not quite ready to check out (it was before check out time) and had a taxi at the hotel to take us back to the car to get our tire changed and the lady at the front made me settle our bill right then even though our luggage was still in the room. The bed was hard and the breakfast was unimpressive. Overall I would not stay here again.

A great castle hotel to “check the box” “I stayed in a castle”. Just a walk up the hill (a bit more than a mile from the train station) from the little village of Dingwall, it is quiet and comfortable with a very attentive and professional staff. It is an actual castle so areas can be a bit cold especially when we were there in January. The Hotel is privately owned but professionally operated by “Bespoke” The in house, or castle as it were, bar and restaurant were very good. The castle has a small but interesting museum you should check out. We walked paths up behind the castle along sheep pastures and ran into very friendly and helpful locals. We stayed in the Four Poster room which was spacious and comfortable, with a breathtaking view overlooking the dale and village of Dingwall. I recommend spending the little extra for this room. To get into the city of Inverness it’s a 25 minute walk to the rail station and a pleasant 35 minute train ride that drops you right into city center. There are a few shops and small restaurants in town. If you like local art, check out the art gallery shop “The Alchemist” in town. Reasonably priced works by local artists. Lastly I would be remiss if I did not mention the fantastic staff at the castle many of which have been there a while. Moira, Chris, Laura, Paul, Steven and Sai are a top notch team ready and willing to help, Thanks to the great staff! But beware, they say the castle is haunted!

What an absolutely wonderful experience ! We stayed her on a 3 night New Years package and had a truly memorable time. The castle itself is beautiful with a full range of rooms available to suit all budgets, very comfortable and very clean. The food was nothing short of what you would find in a 5* restaurant , beautifully presented and never a morsel left. But, I have saved the best ‘til last. The staff, were outstanding. Arlene the manager, Paul, Moira, Rodney and every other member of the team, nothing was ever too much. So helpful and friendly and we’re always happy to offer advice on places to visit or just to have a chat about just about anything. Can’t recommend highly enough and can’t wait to return in October 😘

Stayed here on work and have no complaints. I stayed in the oak room which was amazing - former dining room I believe which was huge, probably one of the most beautiful rooms I’ve had the pleasure of staying in. The castle is by no means luxury, it’s not meant to be, however it is stunning and full of history. Open fires going and comfy places to sit and relax. I’d definitely stay again, the staff are super friendly and made it for me. Laura on reception was very attentive, friendly and polite. The bar staff were great too, as was the lady who served me breakfast. Thanks to you all for a great stay. No ghosts to report though. Warm and welcoming atmosphere.
