Christmas came early to this Church Minister and his wife🙏🏻 we always stay at Nethybridge Hotel when in The Scottish Highlands, an honest Highland Hotel which offers great food, warm hospitality, the public rooms and corridors are also warm, essential to return to after a day on the Mountains or exploring the lochs in winter.
Nethybridge offers amazing value Christmas themed 3 and 4 night breaks with hearty breakfasts, turkey Christmas dinners with all the trimmings, Highland beef banquets with a Piper entertaining. This is a review and not an advert, so look up their web site.
What we are trying to expiation is that we had not come for the Christmas break but for a post operation rest. The Management and staff are so welcoming that they invited us to share in the festivities…we could not resist marking Christmas early and thoroughly enjoyed the company.
High recommended for any time of year….Nethybridge is not just for Christmas but all year round 🤐🙏🏻😇

A great stay at one of the best and most comfortable hotels in the Cairngorms National Park. My bedroom was spacious, the bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom perfect. All the staff are personable, efficient and friendly and Keeley and her colleagues on Reception do a grand job. The breakfast must be one of the best going in the highlands, sets you up perfectly for the day ahead!

We had a lovely one night stay at the Nethybridge Hotel. We'd booked a train journey at Aviemore to travel behind The Flying Scotsman. As our train wasn't until 5pm we were unsure when we'd reach the hotel but were reassured that a meal would still be available and to just let them know if we'd be later than 8.30. We arrived at the hotel earlier than expected and found a warm welcome by Alison on check in who explained all to us and even suggested a river walk nearby for our dog. Some of the communal areas (corridors/staircases) looked a little tired but it's an old building which has ongoing updates. We stayed in a garden view room which was spotlessly clean, roomy and had a seating area by the bay window and a very large comfy bed. Our meals were delicious, drinks good and all staff were lovely - friendly and helpful. Good atmosphere in bar area with friendly guests who made a fuss of our dog. Breakfast was buffet style - piping hot and seemed to be local well cooked ingredients. The gardens were beautifully kept with special areas for dog excercise and a doggy bin just in case! Highly recommended for anyone wanting to stay in the area. A touch of nostalgic charm!

Just wanted to say a big thank you to the staff at the hotel! We attended the Turkey & Tinsel weekend 10-17 November and had a great weekend 🎄 Firstly when I was booking the rooms I called several times and spoke to Magali and she was so helpful and accommodating with everything I asked of her. The hotel was decorated beautifully with lots of Christmas trees throughout the hotel and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. You can see the hotel is being refreshed and hopefully in time the rooms will be as nice as the ground floor but it’s very good to see the hotel undertaking this expense especially with there being a cost of living crisis. Myself and my daughter were late arriving on the Friday (due to flight times) and my brother and his wife were able to have our meal which I thought was very generous of the hotel and much appreciated as they were only there for one night. The entertainment was very Scottish and my 83 year old mum enjoyed hearing some old songs she hadn’t heard in a while. The breakfast buffet was varied and the food was kept warm and regularly replenished. I’d like to make a special mention for the dinners as they were all very good portions and very tasty and the whole weekend was very good value considering the food, entertainment and bed was all included. This was a special catch up with my mother, daughter my brother and his wife as we won’t be able to be together for Christmas so to be able to have Christmas Eve, Day and New Years all together in one weekend was very special. The Piper on NY was extra special and very good.
Thanks again for a fantastic weekend! I will be recommending your hotel to others for sure.

Dear Ang120801 I would like to thank you for taking the time to write to us in regard to your stay with us, we are delighted that you enjoyed our Turkey & Tinsel break, we have a lot of our guests who enjoy coming to these breaks as it allows them time with family and friends that they may not be able to see over the festive period and this is the case with yourself it still gives the Christmas spirit although in November 🙂. I will certainly pass onto Magali your comments and she will be delighted to hear that she was able to help you. We are continually trying to enhance the rooms and this is part of our ongoing refurbishment programme, and it is always nice to hear when guests can see changes but they also know that we will continue to keep improving areas. We do look forward to welcoming you all back again soon, please have a lovely Christmas and New Year when the real one comes along. Kindest Regards Lindsay Parker General Manager

We stayed here on 22/9/23 And lovely part of the world, but this hotel is severely needing an overhaul. Carpets looked jaded and worn, hallways and stairwell in need of some paintwork and upgrading. Rooms look dated, lampshades broken and mended with sellotape, beds extremely hard and lumpy. Staff all friendly and helpful, but seems like they all doing the wrong jobs. For example, I don’t usually make coffee, waiter told me, And the waiter told the couple at the next table he could not find small tea pot so had to bring them a very large one. Breakfast was included in price, All cooked fine with plenty cooked items, but little of any other choices, I,e cold meats, cheese etc. some small selection of cereals, and choice of small chocolate choix or small pastry. All in all was a fine stay, but I don’t think I would stay again. ( Value for money ) no

I’ve been visiting Nethybridge Hotel for more years than I care to admit to. I have never ever had a bad stay and in fact as far as I am concerned my holidays there get better and better.
Most recently there just last week with a friend for some relaxation and dog walking. We enjoyed our 4nights so much we asked to stay an additional night, and reception could not have been more accommodating.
Our rooms were comfortable and spacious. They were cleaned daily, with fresh towels every day whether we asked for them or not. The staff were polite, friendly and helpful, with advice on new dog friendly places to go. The food was fantastic and plentiful- breakfast and dinner- and lunches on previous stays have also been excellent (we were out and about at lunchtimes this trip so didn’t sample lunch this time). The dogs were made welcome too.
The village is lovely, with well laid out and signposted walks at all levels, and as it’s located in the heart of Speyside there’s plenty to visit and see, and plenty of outdoor places to visit, plus other longer walks starting in the village, or starting a short drive away.
It would be unfair to single out any of the Nethy Bridge staff as every single one of them, from the general manager Lynsey to the rest of the reception team, the housekeepers, the restaurant and bar staff, and the gardener, were super.
The whole aura is very relaxed and it’s def where to go for a chilled time. If you want 5 star commercialised glitz, luxury and glamour go to the resort in Aviemore.
If you want peace, quiet, comfort, and good old rest and relaxation, in a traditional Scottish Hotel with brilliant staff, try Nethy Bridge Hotel.
I won a watch when I found this wee gem years back. Next trip is booked already and it can’t come quickly enough!

We have enjoyed Highland hospitality at its best at Nethybridge Hotel for many years. Robert Louis Stevenson once said that, for him, “to travel hopefully is a better thing than to arrive” not so with us and Nethy. We drive the 200miles from our home overlooking a river estuary and the sea, most of our furniture tweed, including drawing room and bedrooms…..curtains, bed heads, chair and sofas we often wonder why we invest our hard earned cash in hotels so fortunate are we in our home and location but Nethy feels like home in another setting.
………heading to The highlands to enjoy the myriad beautiful vistas, we know that we will receive a warm welcome at The Nethybridge Hotel…..from signing it at reception, to our perfectly presented room near to the apartments once permanently set aside for Mae West, Cary Grant and Lauren Bacall in the 40s and 50s who came regularly to fish the Spey. The room had its industry standard four tea bags, two for arrival, two on waking before breakfast and of course complimentary Scottish shortbread….a welcome nibble before supper and a good advertisement for the industry.
The staff are natural and welcoming and a credit to Strathmore Group who have done much to save some grand hotels in the north of England and Scotland.
The food was superb, both at supper and breakfast.
Creatures of habit, we love to retire to the drawing room and sit on the tweed sofa playing scrabble on our iPad, as we do at home.
We left refreshed and ready for the next stage of our Highland tour.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your lovely review, we are delighted that once again you have been able to enjoy your stay with us, we do believe that the hotel is full of charm and is such a friendly and welcoming building, this allows our regular guests to come back time after time. We are extremely proud of all the staff that we have and like all businesses we are suffering terrible staff shortages however the team we have, keep giving one hundred percent and that's all that we can ask. We do hope to see you again in the not-so-distant future. Kindest Regards Lindsay Parker

The Nethybridge Hotel is a traditional, old, warm and welcoming hotel in the beautiful village of Nethy Bridge, surrounded by the Cairngorm Mountains and with the River Spey just a few minutes walk away. The hotel’s location is both peaceful and stunning and is a perfect base for touring the Highlands of Scotland. The hotel bedrooms are exceptionally clean, spacious, bright and well furnished with everything you need - hairdryer, toiletries and coffee/tea making facilities all provided. Complimentary car parking is either in front of the hotel or behind in the car park and there was always plenty of space, even though the hotel was full. There are beautiful gardens across the road with distant views of the the snow capped mountains. The restaurant and bar are both excellent and busy. The breakfast buffet is plentiful with lots of choice and dinner was superb on both evenings with plenty of menu options. The staff are one of the hotel’s greatest assets, they were all so friendly and welcoming, particularly those working on reception, the restaurant and bar that I had the pleasure to meet. On one evening, there was some really enjoyable and atmospheric live music from a talented accordion player who entertained guests with his traditional Scottish tunes with lots of singing along and laughter. The Nethy Bridge Hotel is the loveliest accommodation I’ve ever stayed in during my visits to Scotland and will definitely be returning in the future. Thank you for a wonderful and memorable stay. And keep up the great work that you’re doing front of house and behind the scenes, it’s really appreciated and noticed!

From the very start, an advertised offer was refused, when argued as shown on Strathmore website. When pushed it was agreed it could be done. Lovely hotel, stayed in room 101, really great room. HOWEVER housekeeping do not visit the room if occupied so for 5days, 4 nights no room service. I did not pay that kind of money at a so called 3 star hotel to wash my own cups and glasses, we had been there three days before telling us if we wanted clean towels, we had to Leave them outside the room. We had to remove Our own rubbish to be left a bin bag for the next lot. The ‘set’ menu was the same from Sat to wed so very bored by then. Some staff need a kicking but generally good. Would stay again, After Covid is not just an excuse to cut service we paid for. As repeat Strathmore offenders, this is just not the service we expect.

Dear Steamy66, Thank you for your review, I am unaware of what the discussion in regards to do with the offer however I will speak with my team in regards to this, I am delighted that you liked your room it is a lovely spacious room and is very popular with our returning guests, I can only apologise if you were not informed on arrival in regards to us providing limited housekeeping this is an ongoing thing in majority of hotels due to being covid cautious and also due to staff shortages which all areas of employment are facing at the moment, we are more than happy to have cleaned your room on request to reception at any time. I am unsure as to what you mean by "some staff need a kicking" I dont think a comment like this is necessary towards staff that are dealing with a hard time in the industry and still turn up each day to look after our guests, if you mean in the sense or perhaps needing training then this is taken on board however everyone needs to start somewhere and im sure on your next visit you will see this. Unfortunately times at the moment are very different due to coming out the other side of COVID however we still have to be cautious for our guests health and our staff and we do the measures that we do to try and ensure all our guests and staff are kept as healthy as possible whilst being at the hotel. We do look forward to seeing you again at your next visit. Kindest Regards Lindsay Parker

Paid £72 for our nights stay and would say that is all it is worth! Room small and tatty. No pillow protectors and pillows ripped and well used. Curtains in bathroom were ripped and shredded and bath had missing enamel. Carpets throughout hotel well used and shabby! Evening meal was generally OK but served by waitress who couldn't see for the hair hanging in front of face, mumbled our order and shoved my plate across table in front of my husband. Breakfast in morning was terrible. Poor cold buffet choice and 'hot' buffet was congealed and tepid and had obviously been sitting a long time. Would not stay again and would not recommend. I very rarely comment on our stays but feel that careful consideration should be given by prospective customers if they are paying the 3 figure cost that they are now asking!

Absolute rubbish of a review ! i have stayed here twice and was very happy with our rooms , food, and service , It is an Old traditional Scottish style country hotel .. not supposed to be a minimlist modern hotel for gods sake, the staff are always very friendly and helpful.
