Excellent old school hotel with modern bathrooms, classic highland sanctuary with excellent food and service, highly recommend. Set in an amazing part of Scotland its period features made it a memorable stay. We only stayed one night as we traveled from Harris to the east coast, it was a very welcome and lovely stay.

Super friendly staff (eg they happily sent back to me a coat I had left there) - but also noticeable elsewhere in dealings around the hotel. Large hotel, old, a little tired in decor, fading grandeur, with a fascinating story. Beautiful surroundings.

Just wanted to say a big thank you to the staff at the hotel! We attended the Turkey & Tinsel weekend 10-17 November and had a great weekend 🎄 Firstly when I was booking the rooms I called several times and spoke to Magali and she was so helpful and accommodating with everything I asked of her. The hotel was decorated beautifully with lots of Christmas trees throughout the hotel and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. You can see the hotel is being refreshed and hopefully in time the rooms will be as nice as the ground floor but it’s very good to see the hotel undertaking this expense especially with there being a cost of living crisis. Myself and my daughter were late arriving on the Friday (due to flight times) and my brother and his wife were able to have our meal which I thought was very generous of the hotel and much appreciated as they were only there for one night. The entertainment was very Scottish and my 83 year old mum enjoyed hearing some old songs she hadn’t heard in a while. The breakfast buffet was varied and the food was kept warm and regularly replenished. I’d like to make a special mention for the dinners as they were all very good portions and very tasty and the whole weekend was very good value considering the food, entertainment and bed was all included. This was a special catch up with my mother, daughter my brother and his wife as we won’t be able to be together for Christmas so to be able to have Christmas Eve, Day and New Years all together in one weekend was very special. The Piper on NY was extra special and very good. Thanks again for a fantastic weekend! I will be recommending your hotel to others for sure.

Dear Ang120801 I would like to thank you for taking the time to write to us in regard to your stay with us, we are delighted that you enjoyed our Turkey & Tinsel break, we have a lot of our guests who enjoy coming to these breaks as it allows them time with family and friends that they may not be able to see over the festive period and this is the case with yourself it still gives the Christmas spirit although in November 🙂.   I will certainly pass onto Magali your comments and she will be delighted to hear that she was able to help you. We are continually trying to enhance the rooms and this is part of our ongoing refurbishment programme,  and it is always nice to hear when guests can see changes but they also know that we will continue to keep improving areas. We do look forward to welcoming you all back again soon, please have a lovely Christmas and New Year when the real one comes along. Kindest Regards Lindsay Parker General Manager

Just back from another visit to this Highland hotel, four days and nights of excellent food, exceptional service, enormous breakfasts, log fires and warmth from all the staff. This is a great value experience in comfort with an unhurried professional approach from all the staff that make this a leisure holiday in beautiful surroundings not to be missed. Good to see the growing popularity of the place, with not a single seat empty in the dining room each night and the public areas next door were equally as busy with an attractive bar menu available. The staff are the stars of the show in this friendly family atmosphere and their efficiency and professionalism shines through. Food in three or four courses, always hot, is of high quality and wholesome. Whilst England suffered stormy weather and flooding we enjoyed the fairest of weather during this week with sunny cloudless skies. How The Nethybridge Hotel managed to arrange that weather we are not sure but our experience this week was magic anyway. Plenty of deer, some in the garden and paddocks outside the front of the building on our last morning, with red deer on the Tomintoul road and red grouse, at Lochindorb. Best wishes to every member of staff and thank you for making our stay a memorable experience.

Dear Jack, Thank you so much for your review and we are delighted that your stay with us was enjoyed, we are so very lucky that our Turkey & Tinsel breaks are very popular and we enjoy hosting them as it is just all light hearted fun. I will pass on your comments in regards to the food to our kitchen department, I am so very proud of all the staff that we have working at the hotel they are so friendly and all enjoy their jobs, and this is pointed out by yourself and other guests, this makes my job a lot more easier when I have a good team that all work extremely hard. We are apparently in for snow this weekend so delighted that you had decent weather when you stayed, Nethy Bridge always tends to have quite fair weather compared to other areas. We do hope to welcome you back again in the future. Kindest Regards Lindsay Parker General Manager

The finest indicator of a good hotel are its staff. The staff at Nethybridge Hotel are superb, mostly locals proud to welcome visitors to the Highlands that they know and love. To enter and be welcomed by Kelly with “it is so good to see you back” ….to be led to our dining table with “welcome back” by warm and professional staff is charming in this fast and all too often anonymous world. We were unaware that they were hosting Christmas themed nights and were asked “do you want to eat in the bar or would you like to join us for a Christmas dinner” too tempting, so we joined in the festivities with our cocktail and beer. To order beer on a site where ale was first served from a building in the 10th Century, where once stood a popular drovers inn from the 16thC developed in the late 19thC into the fine granite structure that stands to day is a unique privilege for anyone with a sense of history, add to that a 1920s turreted wing where Lauren Bacall, Cary Grant and Mae West each retained suites and where visitors can sleep then Nethy uniqueness just grows and grows… The building is almost 140 yrs old and maintenance ongoing as is the cream on my wrinkles…the window frames and dormers need attention, the stair carpets just hanging on but the lounge has been refurbished and the hotel is warm and cosy. A true highland hotel in the old style for which we are grateful .

Dear Berwickshirenat12, Thank you for your lovely review, we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us and experienced our Turkey and Tinsel festivities, it is such fun that we are enjoying, Christmas, Eve, Christmas Day and New Years day in November and allows some guests to have time together that perhaps wouldn't be able to do so for the real festive period. The hotel holds such amazing history and we are very lucky to be able to be a part of it now as it stands. We are continually working on improving areas of the hotel and stair carpets, window frames are on our list. We do look forward to welcoming you back again soon. Kindest Regards Lindsay Parker General Manager

As the organiser of the stay for 21 family members, I was very impressed by the helpfulness of the management team when making the arrangements. It was a fairly complex booking, which was dealt with very positively. Nothing was too much bother. It was also an amazingly affordable deal. Our weekend went brilliantly. Every member of the party had an enjoyable time. The rooms, while a little outdated, were clean, comfortable and cosy. The shower was the best I've come across in any hotel. There was enough of a choice at mealtimes to accommodate everyone in the party, whose ages ranged from 6 to 76 and some of whom had dietary restrictions. Every member of staff who looked after us was super helpful, knowledgeable and eager to provide the best of service. Again, nothing was too much trouble for them. The Nethy Bridge Hotel will definitely be our destination of choice again, both for my husband and myself on short breaks and for future family gatherings. A real gem.

We stayed recently for a night away for my birthday, we booked in the sunday saver with bed and breakfast. We have been before as we got married the nethy bridge hotel, the staff recognised us and made us feel important, also left us a lovely gift . The staff are lovely and very accommodating Feel like visiting freinds. The look of the hotel is very highlands with tartans and lovely maps of local areas, lovley armchair in front if the stove, gorgeous and relaxing lounge area, the breakfast room isnt the best, the bar is lovely had a stove and fireplace which makes it very cozy when eating your dinner in the winter . The confrence/events room is fresh clean and modern. With hidden dance floor for partys or covered for meals or confrences. The food here is lovely, we booked bnb widh we had booked dinner, bnb as the menu the night we stayed looked amazing. We ordered From the ala carte menu and it did not disappoint (highly recommend the steak). Our room was lovely so cozy and such a calming atmosphere. Diabled access is great ramp at the main entrance, parking in front right next to the main entrance. Also a lift to get upstairs This was a must for us. Definitely recommend for night away and for wedding packages. Our wedding package was such a bargin, and not one bit of our big day (Feb 2020) fell like a bargin wedding it felt luxurious and my wedding party was made to feel like they where the most important wedding of all time

I had booked for lunch (over phone) for a family meal- 6 adults and 4 children and was assured that a full bar meal service would be available (I would rather had been told that they don't do lunches). We arrived at the scheduled time and was shown into a games room where some tables were set up - not ideal, considering we walked through a restaurant area then a lounge bar area. A party of 4 (walk in, not pre-booked) came in at same time - shown to nice table in lounge bar area then given priority service. After 15mins waiting I had to ask for menus which hadn't been given - meanwhile the party of 4 had just been served. 5mins later drinks orders were taken and duly arrived 10mins later. Orders for food were then taken (starters and mains) and we duly waited. 5mins later waitress came back to tell us that they are not doing starters!!!!! BY this time I wish we had just walked out and went elsewhere but the kids were hungry( ages 9, 7, 3 and 2). We were also told that one item was off menu and had to be changed. So we waited, and waited and 30 mins later the ADULTS were given their meals ( with 1 extra main that was not ordered - can't she count?) and were told the kids meals would be out soon. The adults were virtually finished their meals before the kids were giving their meals - absolutely shocking! How long does it take for some chips and chicken nuggets? They should have been given their meals first. To round off what was a birthday celebration for my son, they tried to charge me for the meal we didn't order. What kind of establishment runs their organisation like this. STEER CLEAR.
