A 6 acre oasis in the Cairngorms National Park where nestle 3 off grid 2 person eco cabins and a 4 pitch lightweight camping ground. Waterfowl ponds, cultivated areas, sheep and hens are to be enjoyed with views straight to the mountains. There is nothing but moorland and forest in between. The Lazy Duck is close to mountain bike trails, skiing and snowboarding, climbing and plateau treks, rafting, kayaking, fishing, golfing and plenty of whisky distilleries. Landmark Forest Adventure Park, Highland Folk Museum, Highland Wildlife park and the leisure pool at the Aviemore Centre are all within easy reach and of top class quality for visitors. Small is beautiful at the Lazy Duck. We say 'Been Active? Come home to slow living' with our hot tub, sauna & visiting Swedish massage practitioner.

We enjoyed an amazing week in the Woodsmans Hut. If you're looking to escape the urban landscape and live slowly and simply for a while, the lazy duck is for you. The location is perfect, surrounded by nature and with the Cairngorms in the distance, stargazing at night. Trying out the infrared sauna and the wood fired hot tub is a must and you must get a breakfast hamper too. Sarah and Phil are the most lovely of hosts and were always attentive to our needs and making us feel welcome. We can't wait to be back!

We had a warm welcome on arrival, were given a helpful tour of all the amenities along with a basket containing fresh bread, eggs and jams (which were wonderful!). The bunkhouse was clean and spacious. The outside seating areas were a great addition and still used even though it was sub 0 with snow most of our stay; we kept warm with the chimenea and using the wonderful blankets provided. The kitchen had everything you would need to cook as efficiently as if you were at home for which we were grateful; while we usually enjoy a more rustic feel this came in really handy for Christmas dinner. Sarah & Phil could not have been more helpful especially accommodating the impact of COVID-19 restrictions on our stay which we really appreciate. Certainly a Christmas we will not forget. The rest of the site and other accommodation looked fantastic, we will definitely be back again.

We stayed in the Lookout Bunkhouse with our 2 year old son and it was perfect for an eco friendly, back to basics retreat in the scottish highlands. Phil and Sarah were both amazing hosts and were always aorund to give local knowledge and recommendations. Not only was our visit amazing and relaxing, they also hosted our very small wedding ceremony and we were honoured to have them as our guests and witnesses! They made our wedding so special and we will cherish The Lazy Duck in our hearts forever. Can't wait to visit again!

We enjoyed the most magical 3 night escape in the new Lookout Hostel at the Lazy Duck. It was perfect for our family of 4, with our youngest particularly loving 'the den' under the double cabin-style bed; complete with cushions, throws and fairy lights. As with the other huts, it is well-equiped with everything you could need plus lots of extra quirky touches. The wonders of the bush shower are something everyone should experience at least once in a lifetime. Sarah and Phil are the most welcoming and generous of hosts, and we can't wait to return both to the Duck's Nest as a couple; and the Lookout as a family.

Hi Lisa, It was an absolute delight to host you and your wonderful family. Seeing and hearing families enjoying the bunkhouse is so rewarding as feedback and wonderfully reassuring that we got it right. Your always welcome as either family of couple and look forward to hosting you again soon. Sarah, Phil & Brodie.

A really lovely place with lovely staff. Can't fault them at all. The accommodation was immaculate, fire well stocked and ducks on good behaviour. Would definitely recommend The Ducks Nest for animal lovers (especially ducks and red squirrels). Hope to return as soon as possible.
