A 6 acre oasis in the Cairngorms National Park where nestle an 8 bed hut hostel, 3 off grid 2 person eco cabins and a 4 pitch lightweight camping ground. Waterfowl ponds, cultivated areas, sheep and hens are to be enjoyed with views straight to the mountains. There is nothing but moorland and forest in between. The Lazy Duck is close to mountain bike trails, skiing and snowboarding, climbing and plateau treks, rafting, kayaking, fishing, golfing and plenty of whisky distilleries. Landmark Forest Adventure Park, Highland Folk Museum, Highland Wildlife park and the leisure pool at the Aviemore Centre are all within easy reach and of top class quality for visitors. Small is beautiful at the Lazy Duck. We say 'Been Active? Come home to slow living' with our hot tub, sauna & visiting Swedish massage practitioner.

My bf and I had the most relaxing stay here in early September. The lodge was the perfect size for two with everything we needed for the week. The outdoor shower was a great experience, as was having breakfast with the ducks and squirrels every morning. The staff were friendly

Thanks very much Katie. What we like doing is sharing with you the morning feeding of the waterfowl and large lazy ducks. You may have noticed that as soon as they have been fed by us at the further end of the pond they rush off to find you for some more. It is good that you both returned home refreshed. All the best, David & Team Lazy Duck

Thanks so much both of you. Discerning and inquisitive guests such as you really make it for us. The whole team commented most happily on your stay. Yes, a highlight for us, as well as them we know, is when children are leading the morning feeding of the waterfowl. It's just so new to most of them and those, young in heart, of all ages, seem never fail to respond to an invitation to be a part of it. Come again, David & Team Lazy Duck

You are right. Elemental living mixed with whatever you like best is no bad recipe for a mindful detox. Next time we bet you'll be sure to make best use of the hut hostel's BBQ. Haste ye back. David & Team Lazy Duck

Just spent 2 nights in the Woodman’s Hut at the Lazy Duck site. Such a really great site!! Lovely welcome from Katriona who showed us around and explained the cabin. Turned out she was around for the whole time we were there and she was terrific, especially enjoyed watching her

Thanks James. It's good to read that the Woodman's Hut suited you both so well. It was the first hut we built after the hut/hostel, a design award winner within the year and still the favourite for couples who are searching for that bit special remoteness in these busy times. We'll see you again perhaps, David & Team Lazy Duck

Hello, the hot tub isn't free. think we were about £7 per person for a hour. they also add some very nice oils which are good for you and are very relaxing. as for the distance, it depends on the cabin you hire. we normally have the 8 bed cabin which is about 15-20 feet away. I suggest you take a pair of flip flops. we love the hot tub, even on a cold night we have found it very relaxing and soothing.. hope this helps..

hi do you take motor homes ,
to my knowledge, I don't think they do take motorhomes. they have a small camping area for tents only. hope this helps.
