What a fantastic 3 night stay, perfect in every way. We were in the sportsmans lodge, a very comfortable room with a great view down the valley from full length french windows. And a useful lobby area for our outdoor and golf gear. The Devon View restaurant had amazing food and views with menus changing every day. Quite the best meals we've had in a long time. The Cellars was also very good. And we had pre dinner drinks in a very elegant lounge with a roaring fire. The staff were attentive and friendly without exception. Top marks.

My friend and I booked a last minute stay and had a wonderful time. We enjoyed a visit to the spa and I had a lovely massage from Robyn - thank you! We also enjoyed a fabulous meal in the Devon View restaurant - thank you to chef! The only one very minor downside was the narrow lane for the last mile or so. That said, we will definitely return!

Dear jazzh480, Many thanks for taking the time to rate our hotel. We truly appreciate the 5 bubble rating. Robyn was thrilled when we shared your feedback and our Chef thanks you for your kind words. We agree that the narrow lane is not the best, but most certainly worth the drive once you experience our hotel. Our greatest reward is knowing that you will definitely return. We look forward to welcoming you back. Sincerely, Simon Bailey

We stayed here for 1 night as a wedding gift from a friend. The hotel itself was beautiful and the staff were lovely and polite. I would just say that they could maybe put up some visible signs for the guests to find the pool area, as we struggled as it was very dark and was raining. We booked to have a meal at 8pm as we were told it was fully booked- however when we got there, there was only two tables occupied. There was a choice of causal dining or fine dining and we chose the casual. My husband ordered a chicken burger which came with chips and I ordered a pepperoni pizza. The pizza itself was £14.50 and an extra £1 for your choice of toppings. When the waiter brought the pizza out myself and my husband were very shocked. I had been given a Chicago town takeaway pizza that you can buy from the shop for £4. I asked the waiter if this was from a box and he said yes. I expressed my disappointment and I sent my pizza back and just asked to have the same meal as my husband. The manager came to us just to check in, I told him that there was no way we was prepared to pay £15.50 for a £4 pizza you buy from the shop. If I had paid £5 for this pizza then obviously I would of ate it, but to be charged more than what my husbands meal was for a oven pizza was ridiculous. I sat and watched my husband eat his meal while I waited for mine to come out. This ruined our experience for us unfortunately. We were very surprised considering this was a country hotel. The rooms were cosy and vintage, and the views were brilliant. Unfortunately we skipped breakfast and decided to leave early.

Super atmosphere Really excellent and friendly staff. Food is exceptional. Relaxing and a wonderful place to recharge the batteries. I just need to find a date to get back there. Apparently some people play golf there?

Wow wow wow, this place is amazing!!! The building, grounds, service, rooms, food, spa are nothing but perfect. The staff are exceptional from the reception to the bar, restaurant, spa and even the friendly window cleaner. You are made to feel so welcome and comfortable, nothing is too much and all with a smile. I have stayed in many spa hotels all over the country for girls nights or couples get seats but this place is top of my list. Nothing but luxury in the most beautiful, tranquil setting. Can’t wait to go back !!
