The self catering accommodation at Qambathi is nothing short of appalling. Dirty, poorly serviced, old beds, old linen, filthy kitchen, mouldy fridge, dirty cutlery and crockery, broken window, no hot water, leaking roof, cracked windows- to mention but a few problems. Worst of all the manager was unhelpful and disinterested. Save your money and book elsewhere!

The lovely Qambathi Lodge is in a remote and quiet setting. The décor is fabulous – elegant but comfortable. Zebras and Appaloosa horses mingle freely on the property. Stephan and Marius were excellent, as were their staff. Be aware that each night is a set menu (you will most likely be eating here), so it you have dietary restrictions let...

We stayed in one of the buildings that is a shape of 'a hut' and decorated with good taste - reminded me of stylish Nordic design. The bed had clean, soft, white bedsheets and we were given two pairs of big brand new bath and hand towels. The view from the building was over the lawns/mountain and we could admire...

Set in a small valley surrounded by beautiful hills for walking and with horse and zebra roaming free its a very picturesque place to stay. The main buildings are old but tastefully renovated and make for relaxing areas to sit and watch the world go by, especially the one near the pool and we really liked the large open bar/dining...

The property and its hosts Marius and Stefan are delightful. Tranquil, serene oasis with horses and zebra running free. Nice hiking on c. 350 hectares of hills and woods with beautiful views. Our room was luxurious and comfortable, huge comfortable bed and stand-alone tub. Dining room serves elegant meals. Whole house filled with art and hand-made furniture. Wonderful atmosphere in...

We were invited to spend the weekend at Qambathi as part of our friends 50th birthday celebration. What a surprising and stylish place! It is perfect if you can book the whole place for your party as we did. The hosts Stephan and Marius were very hospitable and their cooking is absolutely outstanding despite them claiming that they have never...

We recently spent time as a family in the Kamberg, Drakensberg staying at Qambathi Lodge. This is a place not listed on Trip Advisor yet - I am in the process of doing that. This is an incredible place to stay at as it is simply outstanding in all aspects. The accommodation is luxurious - it is tranquil and it...

I must say driving closer to the venue I doubted the lodge and this is because of the 1.9 KM gravel road but to our suprise the place was stunning. The lodge is perfectly placed with the view of Drakensberg mountain making sunset more and more stunning. Vote of thanks to Marius and Stephan for being great hosts and providing...
