We booked a double for two people. The room was small but clean with modern decor. The staff was the best part of our stay. They were very helpful and allowed us to drop off our belongings and check in quickly so we could make it to the ropeway before it closed at 5:30pm.
The price was a little expensive, however, the hotel was less than 1km from Onomichi train station. There is nothing near the hotel, but there is a convenience store and supermarket between the station and the hotel.
The hotel is undergoing renovation now. There was no noise at night, but there was some noise the next morning from room renovations happening on our floor. The shower had some small mold stains. However, everything else in our room was spotless. If I return to Onomichi, I would probably try to find a hotel or ryokan in an area closer to the main shopping street, closer to the action. However, on short notice the hotel was very nice and met our expectations. We received a coupon for dinner, however we did not eat at the hotel.

A big room with engaging supermarkets just aroung the corner. Some hotels closer to the station but its worth the taxi fare to stay a bit further out. Ocean view rooms are actually with a view of the port but in some ways that's even better. No English but great efforts by staff makes this not a huge issue.

This hotel has very small room but I guess it is typical in a Japanese hotel. Practical and clean. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Small working desk. Internet is fast. Hot water bath was powerful.

The hotel is at a good location and cheaper than the bike hotel around. To us the highlight was the buffet breakfast. There were many choice and it’s the first time I saw a rice dispensing machine, where I can choose whether I will have a small, normal, or large bowl of rice. There’s free car parking available, both covered and outdoor. The rooms were modern and spacious. One of our double rooms was so spacious that it had a big L-shape sofa. It’s great value for money.

We really enjoyed the hotel where we stayed for two nights in a twin room. Beds were great and the room was very quiet and there is a Lawsons next door which was very suitable for breakfast.

Wifi was free and fast.

The only negative is that the hotel is about two kilometres from the station and although there is a limited free shuttle it was a little far out of town. A shuttle on demand would negate this obstacle.

Dinner at the hotel restaurant was excellent.

Stayed one night here before cycling the Shimanami Kaido. Not exactly centrally-located. 15-20 minute walk needed from Onomichi train station. But that’s fine for the price. It’s a pleasant walk, and they offer a shuttle on request, although we did not take them up on this. Staff were extremely friendly. Our rooms were very clean and very comfortable. Really could not have asked for more for the price.

We came to Onomichi to bike the kim anami trail. This hotel will arrange for luggage transfer to your biking destination for a fee. Fee is based on luggage size but was ¥1200 per each of our small luggage pieces. We enjoyed our traditional room with futons. Also enjoyed breakfast here.

Our main goal in Onomichi was to cycle over the islands. Therefore we planned a night there without any expectations. We found Kokusai Hotel and it was a very good choice. We could get a good nights sleep, the staff was very friendly and helped us with making our cycle plans.
They offer a shuttle service from and to Onomichi station, which we appreciated.

Not a 4star hotel. Located in the surroundings of the Onomichi port. The only advantage is that is located near to the bridges between islands, so you can rent a bike and have a ride (of about 60km) but really nice...
The hotel itself is not valuable:
-very small rooms
-not good restaurant service
-recommendable only for an emergency and one night...

We stayed in this hotel for 1 night. We arrived in the morning and did the bike ride during the day. We got a taxi to the hotel from the station - about 600 yen. When we arrived they were very friendly, spoke really good English and looked after our luggage.

In the evening we walked to the hotel, about 1km, it didn't take very long. We checked in and asked for our luggage, they had already put it in the room for us! The room was a reasonable size - for a Japanese hotel. It was clean and the furniture modern.

We didn't try out any of the food but there's a great coffee machine in reception which is pretty cheap.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
