Called to make a reservation for a night’s stay with my family of 6. Requested for a room that can accommodate all of us. We were travelling with aged parents who have difficulty managing stairs.

They recommended a room that turned out to be near the restaurant. Luckily they are not crowded and its not too noisy. Its also steps to the pool. Room is large but dark, only a couple of light bulbs.

However the toilet is clogged. We asked reception to get it fixed. Instead they gave another room on the same level for us to use thr toilet.

The public beach is about 2mins wal. Its clean and nice. the food park serves cheap good fresh seafood in the evenings with free entertainment.

Hotel room was large enough for 4 adults and 2 children. Warm water for showers was wonderful. Pool was nice and maintained. Meals were tasty although a little slow. The atmosphere was nice and they were very accommodating. They can coordinate pump boat island hoping rides, however I don't recommend unless you bring earplugs, the boats are VERY loud.

My family and I love to travel. Destinations like white sand beaches are one of our favorites. I’d love to share my family’s experience with Sipalay City.
I heard this place from a friend who has been in Sipalay City several times already.
His story about this place is pretty much interesting. And to see for ourselves the truth to his tale, the whole family was bound to Sipalay City summer of 2008.
Road trip from Bacolod City going to Sipalay is quite tiring; 3hrs and 30mins to 4 hours travel by our own vehicle from the capital city of Negros Occidental going to our destination, though it was strenuous land trip we never had regrets after seeing Sipalay City. We arrived just in time the sun kisses the waves in sipalay’s poblacion beach… being new to the place, I could not believed such beautiful long stretched beach is open for the public… no entrance fees, you can put up a tent if you want w/out paying for the place, anything you’d love to do…
After the spectacular sunset view we looked for a place to rest, we found the Sipalay Suites located just near the beach. They have clean spacious rooms, very attentive staff and nice hotel owner… nice Japanese foods too . . . : )
We had 5 unforgettable days stay in sipalay city with Sipalay Suites. i can say that sipalay is really indeed “unspoiled” tourist destination. White sand beaches, dive sites, caves with stalactites and stalagmites . . . Sipalay really has a magnet, attracting local and foreign visitors.
We look forward to be in sipalay again... sooooon

Hi, We went to Sipalay last weekend and we stayed at the Sipalay Suites. Sipalay is great with lots to do and places to go. Our sipalay visit would have been idyllic except for our stay at the Sipalay Suites. Sadly we came at a bad time because I think it was fiesta and the hotel was located near an open air auditorium where superloud music (noise actually) was playing almost 24 hours a day, the noise would cease at a little past 3 am and commence again at 6 am. We requested for a room change for the next day and they gave us a smaller room with smaller beds but the noise just got louder and to top it off, they wouldn't give us an adjusted rate for the smaller room when we checked out. Maybe they just wanted to maximize their profit because it is peak season.

Pros in staying at Sipalay Suites

1.Big Rooms that can accommodate 6 adults.

2.Clean bathrooms with hot shower.

3.Attentive and accommodating front office staff.

4.With a grocery store with lots of imported items from snacks to drinks including a fair choice of wines and liquors.

5.With free wi fi which I used with my laptop to while away my time because I can't sleep with the loud noise.

6. With refrigerator, very useful with cold drinks this summer, we even bought ice cream.

Cons

1.Lousy food.Asked for hot sauce for our pizza and they gave us ketchup. Duh...

2.Bad acoustics, room partitions are made of plywood.

3.Only about 10 cable channels half of which are local. ie abs-cbn.

4.Most services they advertise on their website are not available. ie jetski, sea scooter

5.Not beachfront, it would have been nice if it was facing the poblacion beach with the sunset view.

6.No chairs, mirror and trash cans inside room. mirror and trashcans are only in the bathroom.

7. No decent place to eat nearby except for tasteless chicken bbq at the poblacion beach foodpark.

8. No bar and the restaurant doesn't serve dinner because they close at 7pm.

9.No nightlife nearby in the area. At sugar beach, most resorts have restaurants and bars with plenty of food choices and you can go bar hopping if you like.

The staff needs to be trained. Period. Their restaurant needs better quality control. We waited 1 hr for our simple silog breakfasts and grilled tangigue. One of the plates had a fly mixed with the tocino and the waiter had the gall to imply that we put the fly there! Why would we put the effort to catch a fly and mix it with just one of the 8 plates? The dish was only P120+! One of the fish we ordered tasted stale so we returned it but another one of the staff said that since that a portion was already gone (maybe 1/4 of the fish)then it must not be that bad. Mind you, those missing portions where in 2 or 3 other plates because some of us took tiny bites to try the fish to figure out what was wrong with it. Whatever happened to the customer is always right. Then the cashier tried to guilt trip us by saying that now the kitchen staff will have to shoulder the cost of the dishes we dont want to pay for. Why cant the owner shoulder the cost for poor quality control? Why does it have to be between the unsuspecting guests versus the staff who probably dont earn that much.

Then when we asked for the manager/owner, the cashier said that the manager/owner was in a bad mood today so they did not want to bother her/him. They will just "manage" it themselves. Unbelievable. In the end, they did not charge us for the one tocilog plate with fly and one of the fish. We didnot bother bringing up that the rest of us who also ordered tocilog probably had that fly's essential juices and oil mixed in our tocino as well. Ew.

This hotel/restaurant obviously providers much needed employment for the residents of the area so I dont want it to close down. It is located centrally and the view of the beach from the restaurant is nice and relaxing. But please please invest in your staff and train them better. Invest in the residents of sipalay so they can be world class leaders and employees. The very poor handling of our unfortunate event discourages us from coming back. And remember, word of mouth is also a great form of advertisement.

We are unable to comment on the accomdation here , but if the service in the veranda restaurant is anything to go by , I would be cautious , the service staff were a bit dismissive of us when we walked in off the street and were not overly helpful nor were they anxious to take our order , the food was only so so . If that helps anyone , that was our experience .John and Gina.

We reserved and paid the room in HOTEL.COM , our schedule delay so we arrived around 10p.m. when we arrived, the hotel said we are too late to check in, they already sell our room to other guests. But we check the information on the web, their service time until 11p.m. The most important thing is the lady in front desk have no solution, she can't arrange a room for us also can't refund. We waited for long time until manager comeback.

I don't know where to start but this is disappointed Hotel! They don't have a proper training how to handle guests properly most especially in the front desk area .it's better to find any other hotel like bugana beach and dive resort they have a nice room and customer satisfaction.

Reaching Sipalay City where Sipalay Suites might have been a challenge (a 3-hour drive from Bacolod City), but seeing the expansive beach of this part of Negros Occidental was worth it. I loved the idea of the 50-meter beachfront. As a result, my booked La Veranda Suite at the resort had an expansive view of the whole beach. I could even see from my bedside a romantic silhouette of nearby hills where the shoreline was bending. I absolutely adored the glass walls. In the morning, I simply opened the curtains to let in the natural light and closed them at night. The swimming pool was just a step outside the rooms so it was convenient to get to, even the restaurant which serves home-styled dishes. I would have loved to have Wi-Fi Internet access directly in my room, but I think the hotel's still in the process of fixing that issue. I learned that there were only specific rooms (those near the resort lobby) where Internet access is available.
