Great relaxing resort, in Sipalay, Philippines. It's quite tucked in, but once you're in this private beach are, you're transported into this colorful, yet peaceful little nook, of a resort. The beaches are soft and easy to walk around. They have restaurant/bar, plenty of games and activities, a chlorine pool, if the ocean isn't your thang, warm & friendly customer service and rooms.that have fun themes! We stayed in "The Cave" and there was so much detail throughout, that it really felt like you were IN one! Hope you check them out! Such a great resort!

The owner, Cathy is a lovely lady who is very accommodating. The resort itself is very homey and the beach is perfect! White sand, no rocks on the beach and not too many people plus a gorgeous sunset! Great for a quiet, restful vacation 😊

The other reviews tell it all - this is an amazing and unique hotel. Cathy and Kelle are charming hosts (and really into music which is a major plus). The staff are always helpful and smiling. The food very good. The beach is from our experience the best in the Philippines and the rooms!!!

We stayed at Takatuka lodge last week, arriving just before the Typhoon hit. Needless to say, there wasn't much swimming or diving taking place, so we bunked down in our Negrito Hut and played hours of board games - provided free of charge. Over hours of chess, we ate huge amounts of delicious food - some of the best we have had in our 5 months in the Philippines. A huge range of dishes were on offer, all of which were always available. (A rarity in the Philippines) and great cocktails to boot. When the weather cleared up, the location was amazing. Beautiful quiet beach. Clean water, and nice diving.

What more could you ask for? A free upgrade to a bigger room (the rooms are a sight to behold) and super friendly staff.

Takatuka is a very colorful and creative decorated beach resort. Each of the different rooms has a theme, like “castle”, “70ies”, “Marc’o Polo” or “Superstar”. Many crazy ideas (like a hard cover suitcase as sink, or a mixer as lamp) make you laugh and discovering crazy photo motive is fun. Moreover, the artist behind (the owner Kalle) is not only creative he is also very practical and good craftsman skills are often missing in the Philippines. Here, good German quality work is visible and ensures functionality and comfort.

Going there is not easy, as the drive from Bacolod Airport takes at least 3.5 hours and then you still need to take a banka (outrigger boat) down a river for 15 minutes to reach the resort (you can not reach it by car). Huhl Taxi (0922 8221721) is working with Takatuka and can be booked for 4,000 phP and will then wait for you at the airport. Boat pick up will be arranged by Takatuka.

They use a modular price concept, meaning at all costs extra: wifi, breakfast, A/C, hot water. The individual prices are reasonable, but still add up, so that overall price for value is okay, but not excellent.

Big variety of food: good choice for your hunger after beach and diving, but no fine dining.

Service, cleanliness and staff was more than okay. Local staff was occasionally a bit shy and unsure in their reply, but the owners are very friendly and communicative.

Very nice sandy beach and mostly there are very little people (locals and tourists).
Very suitable for families: some rooms have extra beds, one even an kids room with 2 twin beds, two friendly dogs, cats, children suitable beach, games, etc.

Very beautiful dive and snorkel sites, which are the highlights of the place. Also their dive center is excellent: facebook.com/TakatukaDivers

Booking is easy: directly with them (takatuka-lodge.com) and they respond very fast by email (relax[at]takatuka-lodge.com).

I have been to Takatuka twice and I will have to say..it's probably the most awesome place to stay at in Sipalay. Great food, great music, lots of fun stuff to look at , the rooms were squeaky clean and the owners and staff really made you feel welcome! I took my girlfriend there on our anniversary and they chilled a bottle of champagne for us..no corkage fee, no hassle. I cannot wait to come back!

The place is a tranquile garden mixed with bizzare decor - sort of Pee Wee Herman meets Bali-hai. Somehow it's not tacky, just fun. But, most importantly, it's relaxing. No night life, no jet skis, beautiful beach. And the staff are amazingly attentive and try to please. The diving's great. The food can, over time, be a little eurofusion and feel dull, but the owners encourage you to eat at other places (all 2 of them) on the beach if you want a change. No hassles, no attitude. In short, a wonderful place to relax.

You arrive by banka (as there is no road), and your lst sighting is colourful teepees and loungers on the beach. From the minute you step off that banka it's an unforgettable experience. Each room has been painstakingly and individually created. It has to be seen to be believed. Around every corner there is a new experience. Even the food, which is delicious, is presented to surprise you. The beach is excellent for swimming, with white sandy beaches. We spent a very enjoyable 12 days here and would happily go back.

Yes, there is a parking lot at the bridge in Nauhang, before Sipalay. This is the pickup point for the boat transfer. Transfer is about 15 minutes.
