Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

In the second half of March we visited the Austrian Tyrol, or the Wilder kaiser region. Region are better known for shooting a series called Gorski zdravnik. We stayed at Hotel Sonnenhof Vital Panoramahotel in Going .. The hotel complex is wonderful. It is located near the ski slope and right next to the bus station, from where the ski bus takes 5 minutes to the first ski slope. It is the largest Austrian ski resort, conected Going, Scheffau, Ellmau, Brixen and Soll. The length of the ski slopes is around 290 km, and the altitude is 700-2000 m. In spite of spring skiing, ski resorts are well-prepared, as well as ski equipment are mostly modern. The hotel itself certainly deserves an estimate of at least 9.5 / 10. The rooms are bright and comfortably furnished, as are the bathroom, which has even two washbasins, a shower and a bathtub. We lived on the ground floor so that the room also had a furnished terrace directly in front of the outdoor pool (of course, for the summer time). The hotel complex consists of two buildings made in the tyrolean style, connected by an underground corridor. The hotel also has a regulated underground garage. The hotel also has an indoor pool for adults, a children's pool with slides and saunas. The swimming pool is equipped with comfortable deck chairs. The hotel also has a fitness room. The hotel has a spacious reception desk, a large living room, a dining room, a ski room and is very friendly for dogs. Half board included delicious and varied breakfast, morning meal, afternoon snack and lunch. Both the food and the service and the relationship of the owner of the hotel are at the top level. There are lovely wooden houses in the hotel's courtyard, where you can drink some kind of drinks or perform some kind of events. There are also children's playgrounds. During our stay, there were also entertainment evenings with music. In short, the hotel is recommended to everyone, not just for skiers, and not only in winter, but also in the summer.

Very impressed with the hotel - location in the centre of the village and virtually next to the ski bus stop. Staff very helpful, good cuisine and great value for money too!! Will definitely stay again.

Friendly, clean and comfortable. The cost was very good indeed. A newly modernised hotel with young owners, so new ideas, but still keeping the charm of Austria. One minor negative point and that was the flys in the restaurant. Easy to avoid with today's technology.

Friends of ours booked us into this hotel and we really enjoyed our stay. It was very strange for us to be the only native English speakers in the hotel ( many Dutch) but some of the staff including our waiter spoke excellent English ( our German sadly and shamingly non - existent). The rooms were clean and comfortable, the ski room well organised at the bottom of a lift. The outstanding thing for us having spent similar weeks in Austrian hotels previously was the excellence of the food. We thought it was, on the whole, outstanding. The breakfast buffet was good butt the evening meals were much better than we have experienced in other similarly priced hotels and far too plentiful! We were lucky with the snowfall too although the upper lifts didn't work on 2 days in view of high winds. The bus services seemed to cope fine with this I would recommend the hotel. We arrived by train from Innsbruck which was fun too!

I was quite surprised to see all the positive reviews this hotel received and wondered whether I stayed in a different hotel!!! - The first day we asked for the half board, for 20 euros/pers. as mentioned on the web page of booking.com. We were told that only a la carte was available. When we mentioned about the info on the web page booking.com, Mr.Wolfgang (who claimed to be ''Boss'' of the hotel) replied very rudely that such info did not concern him, added that he's '' the boss'' of the hotel, and we might leave the hotel if we did not like his policy...And he added we should book the room using his own web site, (which is only in german, and not in english or other language option) and not on ''Booking.com'' - Most of the time there was nobody at the reception area, the hotel looked isolated when you needed help. The ''Boss'' is in the kitchen for cook, or somewhere else. - The breakfast was not good, not much choice ,no '' croissants, patisseries, etc'', - The food smell in the restaurant and even the hotel was terrible. I felt the need for a quick shower every morning after the breakfast, and change my clothes. - On the last day I wanted to use the hotel computer to book a train ticket to Zell am Ziller, but my request were ignored. - I definitely would not stay at this hotel again and do not recommend to anyone. You have better to book a guest house in town,it's cheeper and better than this.

We had an excellent five-day stay at Sonnenhof while exploring the Zillertal. Our room was large, bright, and comfortable, with modern Austrian decor and a nice balcony overlooking the main street but not too much noise. We went with the half-board option and were not disappointed - the four-course dinners were delicious and well-presented, and after a long day of hiking we really appreciated being able to just wander downstairs and sit down rather than wandering around checking menus. The real stand-out of the Sonnenhof was the staff - Wolfgang and his wife went above and beyond to help us. The location also worked out well, within easy walking distance of the Isskogelbahn for hiking, as well as a 20-minute drive to Krimml Falls and a 30-minute drive to a therme in Fuegen, or canyoning and the cheese factory in Mayrhofen.
