We stayed with my husband and 7 -year old daughter at Lasinga hotel to enjoy the ski resort of Fiss.
The hotel is very charming, upon arrival, you can leave your car and someone from the hotel will drive it to their parking.
We had a standard room and it was fine for the 3 of us with sufficient closet space, during skiing holidays, you do not need so many different cloths anyway.
The spa area was nice and relaxing. The dining place was nice and cozy and the food excellent. Their wine list is also extensive with very fair prices.
The breakfast was nice and plentiful so you might not need to stop for lunch on the slopes.
The host and the staff were very attentive, friendly and efficient. We have already booked for next year.
To get to the skiing resort, you need to walk up and I would recommend to rent a ski depot at the resort as it might become tiring to walk up and down every day with your ski material.
My daughter took full day ski classes, they have quite some Dutch/Flemish speaking teachers. Be aware that the 1st day is a complete chaos to get your kid to the right class. Afterwards, it was fine.
The ski resort is nice and large, not recommended for beginners as there are not so many blue slopes.

Close to the gondola's Lasinga is located along the Laurschweg. There are parking spots in front of the hotel for checking in - checking out. It is a ski in but not a sky out hotel. It requires 100 yards walk to the lifts but that is quite doable.
It is a rather small hotel with 33 rooms providing a great service and a pleasant atmosphere. As a result, the lounge is also small but comfortable. Given the fact it’s relatively small it offers a quiet environment. The staff is very attentive and operates in a quiet but professional manner.
Compared to other 4-star hotels we find the abundancy of the buffet in the morning and afternoon a bit limited. However, the quality is very good.
Looking at dinner we can say the portions are somewhat smaller, good quality but enough. You don’t get the feeling of overeating which is a good thing. You want something else? That is possible, they are pretty flexible.
Wine list is focused on Austrian wines with a very limited collection of French, Italian and Spanish wines on the side

We had a nice room at the 3rd floor with a great view on the mountains and a balcony on the south side of the building. Since it is located along the road there is some traffic but hardly any noise. Carparking inside is limited and one has to pay for it. The hotel takes care of your car in case you don’t want inhouse parking. They have a private lot elsewhere and drive your car up and down at your request.

The hotel doesn't have a swimming pool but offers a wellness center with sauna, steam bath, relax space etc.

All in all, it is a very pleasant, quiet spot to spend your time in Fiss. We have the intention to come back.

My girlfriend and I stayed here in the week of christmas, the time of the year to spend in a friendly, warm and small hotel in Austria. If you're looking for great atmosphere, very nice and modern rooms you will not be disapointed. Some other reviewer already wrote that the rooms are very clean and I can confirm that. Foodies could be disappointed, the collection of wine makes up for that.

It has all been said in previous reviews but I want to reiterate. We have spent the last week of the season here and have been blown away by the quality of this hotel. I stay in lots of hotels around the world and I like my food - Lasinga has the best dining, service and cleanliness of anywhere I have stayed. I'm fussy with mattresses as well but I enjoyed some excellent sleep here. As the only non-German speakers staying here we felt a little apprehensive but the staff were superb. Our 4-year old daughter was doted on and enjoyed the kids room. I made use of the spa facilities which were extensive and again, spotless. The hotel is a stone's throw from the lifts which again is one less hurdle, especially with small children.
Already planning the next visit!

We had a great stay. Food was wonderful and the kids enjoyed themselves. Staff were excellent and helpful. There is a kids room with toys and Xbox/ wii for the kids.

It is about 10 mins walk to the lifts. The room was great, always cleaned and well maintained.

We stayed in Maisonette Sonnenburg at Hotel Lasinga from 11 to 18 February. Our apartment (2 bedrooms, living area, bathroom and shower room over 2 floors) was really clean, comfortable, contemporary and spacious, the staff were all exceptionally friendly and the food was excellent. The wine list was very reasonably priced and the Wellness Centre was beautifully maintained and an excellent place to relax after a day skiing. We cannot recommend this hotel enough.

This was our first trip to this hotel and indeed the village of Fiss, nobody seemd to have ever heard of it... how wrong they all are. The hotel is well situated at the top end of Fiss and you can ski to the hotel, This is without doubt the cleanist hotel We have ever stayed in by far, and we have travelled. Ours was a large family room, Bath with a delighfully powerfull shower, and crisp clean towels each day, there is a sepearte WC opposite the bathroom and although odd it isn't unusuall and certainly not an issue. The bedroom itself has plenty of cupboard space and more than enough wardrobe space. 2 large beds {which we found too hard for us and this did affect our sleep} and a sofa which converts to either one or two single beds dependant on your family requirement. Our twelve year old is not small by any means being taller than his mum but he was very comfortable in this sofa bed. The hotel in general is spotless and is a credit to both the owners and the staff who work there, It is well equipped modern but retains a warmth and a delightful charm which we wanted and expected, we were not disappointed. All of the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. We as a group of 6 {2 families of 3} spoke little German however the staff went out of there way to compensate for our inadequesy. explaining the menu's both food and wine. On our second day they presented us with an english translation menu but even with that the staff were keen to speak and help explain the parts lost in translation, it made you feel welcome and a part of the experinence rather than just an irritant. Along with the excellent staff was an array of food we could not find fault with, { if you go abroad expecting fish n chips with nuggetts etc then stay away}, this was all quality food from start to finish. The bar area was again spotless , well managed and well staffed with polite people happy to get you drink and talk about your day, helped along by multi lingual guests who were again only to happy to pitch in which really does some this hotel up as the guests do reflect the hotel and vice versa, it made the whole holiday really very special... There is ,for the skiers, a heated boot room and a seperate ski / pole room and 5 minute walk you are in the middle of ski school / the main gondola area and the shops {only a few of those} More of a internediate skier resort with an abundance of reds to choose from and few black runs if thats what you are into. only a handful of blues but it is worth saying that a fair portion of reds are within the scope of blue run skiers , a bit of self belief and away you go.
We took a chance as we knew nobody who had heard of Fiss let alone been to the hotel Lasinga,,, we will most definately be going back.
There is also a spa in the hotel which the ladies in our bgroup visited, again they came back saying it was beautiful, spotless and so relaxing {please note Austrians where no clothes in the steam/sauna and spa area} All in all being totally honest my only criticism was the firmness of the bed and the Euro exchange rate , and the latter is not the fault of the hotel. Do yourselves a favour, give Fiss a visit and moreover stay here at the Hotel Lasinga, you will not be dissappointed... as an aside some dopey fool had spent a few days skiing and videoing the children, one of whom was using the footage as part of her Physical Education exams back in the UK, on leaving the hotel and somewhere between Innsbruk and Gatwick the fool realised he had left the new video camera in the bedroom draw,,, panic like you cannot imagine set in and a few phone calls, one e/mail and the delightfull owner Brigette Pale had located the camera and express mailed it back to the UK, 2 weeks later and as yet, even after asking twice, they haven't/won't give me the cost of this so I may refund them, It says a lot about the family who own and run this hotel .

We have returned within one year to this fabulous hotel with our children aged 12 and 14. It is an hours taxi ride from Innsbruck airport. Our room consisted of a living room and luxureous bathroom on one level and then 2 bedrooms and another bathroom upstairs. It is like a small luxury appartment. Plenty of storage space in the rooms, 3 flatscreen large tv's and we had a DVD player installed as requested. The staff is incredible in this family run hotel. Very welcoming and they will go out of their way to help with any requests. The ski and boot storage is very conveniently on the piste and it is a 1 minute walk to the lifts. On the way home you ski in to the hotel. Very convenient especially with older children who can find their own way home if they want.
Excellent breakfast buffet and in the afternoon, after a day of skiing all the guest congegrate in the hall/living area for a tea buffet. The kids all play boardgames together and make lots of new friends.
The child-free wellness centre is an oasis of quiet relaxation and looks spanking new. I loved the waterbeds to have a snooze on after the steam bath. After that a nice predinner drink in the bar with our fellow guests and be spoiled with a really superb dinner. Kids can choose to either have the kids dinner options or eat the adult menu. The food was varied and delicious and the wine list good but not overpriced as in some luxury hotels.
As this was the week before Christmas we were treated to a gala Christmas dinner with traditional music by a local brass band. The hotel was full of families and the whole evening felt like a large family gathering. Especially since all the children (and I think there were at least 20 of them) were given age-appropriate presents by the lady of the house. It was a lovely and very personal touch. I am sure we will be coming back here year after year.

I just can recommend the Hotel Lasinga very very much!

With its luxury, cleanliness, good facilities (wellness, comfortable rooms with great bathrooms etc.), delicious food, great location (next to the ski lifts) and the very kind and helpful staff, this hotel is a place to feel good.
It’s a bright gem under all the other accommodations in this skiresort.

I’m definitely going to stay in this hotel again very soon!
