Friends living nearby booked two rooms for my party of three at the Hotel de la Poste in Charolles. I had seen the hotel on a visit several years ago and liked the country inn atmosphere of the place. How it has changed! Apparently the son has taken over the hotel, and it has been redecorated from top to bottom,...

Hello, Your friends booked two rooms for you and we have taken a long time with them to visit the room and everywhere in the hotel. They asked for the pink one and the one with the disabled people access. The girl have helped you go to your room and have taken the baggage for you. You asked her to...

We stayed for one night and were really impressed with the friendliness of M. Doucet and his people and above all, the food. The hotel is right next to a huge church and a river runs through the area with charming views over a small weir and as it passes houses. While Charolles may have its fair share of closed...

Just one night. Small but pleasant room which had a nice private outdoor sitting area. Very pleasing staff, nothing is too much trouble. Nice outdoor swimming pool. Good food. Chef meets and greets all customers. All very professional.

We were welcomed warmly by the proprietor himself. All the hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful with luggage. We had a huge double suite of rooms that slept all 6 of us. We were rather aghast to find the shower was clearly visible to all with clear walls in the centre of the second room. We took turns to...

We had a great time at the hotel in a "Chambre double Charme". A baby-bed fits perfectly in there. Bathroom is huge ! We could enjoy the pool and the jacuzzi when we arrived but also in the morning before leaving. Dinner at the restaurant was really good, nice wine as well. Service is great, people really nice ! We...

The hotel, the restaurant and the staff are all 5 stars, Charolles is not. The town seemed completely deserted, all the restaurants except this one closed, no bars or cafes open and no-one on the streets and it was a lovely evening. All felt quite strange. Anyway back to the hotel. We were greeted by Frederic Doucet, the chef, himself...

We have stayed here twice, once in February and again in May. Both times it was pouring with rain. On the first occasion it was raining so hard that just getting from the car to the hotel was a challenge. The welcome was warm and Mme Doucet responded to my dismay on learning that having got the cases into the...

We went for supper last saterday at the hôtel de la Poste at Charolles. The decoration is very elegant and the staff friendly. That restaurant is famous for its meat. It really deserves it. I got the best entrecote I have ever eaten. All the meal was great

We went for Frederic Doucet's cooking which was simply outstanding - my best ever steak. But the service, setting, and attention to detail was all excellent. Exceeded all expectations! Would highly recommend to others

Our family stays every now and then at this hotel. It is a hidden gem in a mostly very quiet yet beautiful countryside area where good places are hard to find. The hotel is a great place to stay but the restaurant is really what will make a difference in your experience. Frederic Doucet is an efficient but warm host...
