Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

How do you begin to describe a place so perfect ,I will try ? We have just stayed here 3 nights ( which isn’t enough ) in the Gite which was lovely From the kitchen china and equipment ,the best bed of the whole of our 3 week trip with lovely bedding ,a great bathroom and the most wonderful lounge and log fire There’s bed chairs and tables and chairs scattered around the garden with little private areas to suit everyone We were lucky to be there one of the nights Richard was doing dinner and met other residents in the BB . The meal was lovely and accompanied by a good quality wine Richard and Victoria are charming hosts and go out of their way to ensure you have the best possible experience But the stars of the place are their 3 entertaining , bright and lovely sons Charlie,George and Henry We will return as gems like this are few

I stayed solo for one night in early June - stayed in 6 other properties on this road trip, so this review is relatively objective. Convenient for Caen ferry - max two hours drive. Strangely not signposted from main road, but my Tom Tom picked up the location OK. Host very welcoming - my schoolboy French was no impediment as host originally from the UK. No lift, so anyone with mobility problems needs to be aware of this re the upper floors. An absolute rural gem in a quiet, secluded and beautiful spot. Wonderful sympathetically restored old building full of charm and character. Spacious, welcoming and comfortable lounge for those ‘stay in’ days. I didn’t use the pool. My bedroom - Dahlia - on the top floor was spacious, clean, comfortable and well equipped with a modern bathroom and excellent shower pressure. Top quality bed linen & towels. The Table d’Hote dinner was to a good standard with decent wine. Continental buffet breakfast was a similar standard with eggs cooked to order by the ‘junior chef’. String WiFi ‘downstairs’, but a struggle on the top floor. Excellent value for money. This will be my stop over of choice from any future Caen ferry trip - highly recommended. .

Our favorite place to stay in France, as good as always! Victoria and Richard are always very welcoming and make us feel like members of the family. Dinner is a wonderful extra when you've been driving a long way and really don't want to go out. Glad to see the boys being trained already!

We stayed at Belle Vallee for a week with friends and it was absolutely super! Victoria & Richard were, as usual, their welcoming selves. We were greeted with a warm fire and a cup of tea every evening; a great way to end the day! We won't leave it 7 years before we visit again. THANK YOU

Richard and Victoria run one of the most amazing places to stay in Northern France. Their hospitality was amazing. We arrived by bike as a group of friends, and were immediately offered a drink sitting outside in the glorious garden. The accommodation was really comfortable, with large rooms. Dinner was provided in house, and was delicious, accompanied with some wine. Richard and Victoria have a lovely family too ! All in all they could not have made us more welcome. 6 star service. Thanks, and we look forward to returning soon.

Exquisite chambre d'hôtes in a beautiful countryside setting just outside the medieval town of Domfront. We stayed here before and returned once more to enjoy a warm welcome from Victoria and Richard, who are very friendly and personable hosts. Rooms are beautifully decorated and spacious. The lounge downstairs is a perfect place to unwind with a glass of wine in front of the cosy wood burner. Breakfast is always a joy. The views into the garden and countryside are no less than stunning. Our favourite B&B in Basse Normandie.

We had an amazing stay at Belle Vallée, the gite is even more beautiful in real than on pictures and everything fits the description so no disappointment (very far from it!). The hosts are incredibly nice and will do everything to make sure you have the best time at their place such as offering beers after a long day of bike! I recommend a 100% to go there!
