We visited to see the Abbaye and the gardens, we bought a combined ticket for both. Luckily/randomly we arrived just as a tour was about to start - you can only see around the Abbaye on a guided tour - otherwise we would have missed out as they're not that frequent. The tour was in French but we were given... More

We did an overnight stay at the Abbey with my mother in law and our two children on our way to Loire. We have booked a family room and a double room, the Abbey is a beautiful building with lovely gardens but the accommodation itself if very basic without a hospitality tray, but with thin curtains and single beds. Although... More

Stunning place, but I found the outside more beautiful than the inside. Probably best to get a combined ticket for the abbey and gardens. Apparently, also of interest for Belgians interested in WWI as it was a resting place for Belgian soldiers away from the front.

Well worth your time and money, the abbey is peaceful and the gardens really beautiful. The guided tour of the abbey is in French (well, ours was, and why should it be otherwise?) but an informational document in English was provided and we felt that what we were reading was essentially what the guide was saying, so no problems there.... The abbaye is an imposing building with the wow factor, but I'm not convinced that it is a particularly good choice as an hotel. The little shop also acts as a reception, which closes at 6pm, so you have to arrive before this time. I chose the most expensive suite style rooms, but at 110 euros found it very expensive... More

We were not actually staying at the hotel but visited this place and were delighted with our visit. Beautiful rose bushes everywhere and apparently it is the best season to visit. If you like flowers (my wife certainly does), this is a must-see. The Abbey buildings are stunning too.

It is a great experience at a very low price. 18th century bedrooms ( let's say like the best french palaces in France ) ... great view, very calm ... for 90 euros per night ! The breakfast is also great. But know that it is far from everything. For instance, if you go there in april, as we did,... More

The Abbaye de Valloires is said to be the only 18th century Cistercian Abbey in France and makes a delightful stopover in this charming area of Picardy. Parts of the Abbey are open to the public as well as the delightful gardens. There are seventeen bedrooms available for B&B which range in price from 41-90euros a night plus 6euros each... More
