Just a big thank you to the events team for making our wedding service and the BPPA dinner dance such a success. Thanks to Martin who was so helpful and understanding of our needs. A brilliant “can do” approach to problems. just what is needed and so much appreciated by those outside the hotel like me who are organising events within an existing event. I can’t speak highly enough though of Eduardo whose sensitive and caring approach made the evening completely special. Eduardo videod our service and the 3 events I had organised for which we are so grateful. He also operated the lights during the events as well as taking care of us all at the table. Just sensational service. I will be writing to Eduardo later to thank him personally. Thanks also to Jane for coordinating the general weekend arrangements from the outset with Sue our social secretary. Always runs smoothly because of this. All in all a fabulous weekend that will stay in the memory - we have had so many positive comments on Facebook and letters from attendees and a key part of that success was the seamless performance of the events staff. Very disappointed in this hotel. They had technical difficulties resulting in a limited Dinner Menu, but the management did not have the common decency to let us know, leaving the restaurant staff to tell us when we arrived for dinner. Don't prepay for Dinner as it is not worth it

Dear Global1492855615, We were sorry to receive this review but feel important to set the context of "technical difficulties" the hotel experienced. During you stay the village of Blunsdon suffered a major gas leak. This leak resulted in a full half of the village being deprived of gas for approximately 12 hrs, while a pipeline was repaired. The hotel has two independent gas supplies. one of which was severed as such we lost half of the boilers, the restaurant kitchen and numerous water heaters - without warning or notice. Our management team did their very best to react rapidly to this event - quickly establishing what we were able to offer, to whom and how. Unfortunately we were not able to communicate this to each and every guest, nor could we precommunicate this issue to arrivals. Wales and West (the gas company) reacted very quickly to this leak, we could not fully mitigate the substantial disruption this caused to the hotel - which was ultimately beyond our control. Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience which may of been caused and please be assured this event was very much a one off. We were glad you enjoyed the other aspects of the hotel and hope to see you again soon. Kind regards, BHH

Lovely hotel with loads of facilities, unfortunately, although it has a lot of bars and restaurants, only one of each was open due to the place being a ghost-town, and both closed early on this account (about 10:30pm), although I blame this on Swindon rather than on the hotel, so basically it would be a fantastic hotel were it anywhere else on the planet! Facilities: 3/5 Note: pool closes at 6:30pm to kids Room & bed: 5/5 very comfy Internet: 3/5; adequate for Youtube or email, but not for general streaming Water pressure: 5/5 - room also had a nice bath Staff: 5/5

We came just for a Saturday night stay. Lovely big room with balcony. Everywhere clean and tidy. There is a nice indoor pool area, kids loved a splash about. There is a lovely spa pool, steam and sauna for the adults too. Bar nice and modern as is the restaurant. Food ok, typical hotel food. Restaurant staff very busy so be a bit patient. Everyone friendly even when pushed. Nice touch in the bar of a kids corner. Free 1980s pac man and street fighter as well as table football.

My Husband and I had the most fantastic wedding at The Blunsdon House Hotel. On the day we didn't have to worry about a thing! Everything was taken care of. The food was quite frankly, delicious! We had quite a few people who had different dietary requirements and everyone was well looked after! Our room was, although a bit dated, very comfortable, clean and well maintained. With Grace, and her team running your day, you'd have a fantasti, and surreal experience! We would also like to make a special mention not just to Grace but a few other as well, both managers that over saw the wedding breakfast, and Austin for a fantastic service. Thank you so much! Right I’ve never seen anything like this before it is absolutely disgusting, this poor receptionist was trying her hardest to help out at the bar because they was short staff she was doing an amazing job by the way. Then this guy in suit and little ponytail came down and started shouting at her in front of everyone it was terrible I’ve never seen anything like it before she was trying her hardest to help out. So I hope this gets reported to some manger or something because that was disgusting. Never coming back after that, if they can’t treat staff properly how are they going to treat us costumers. Have to say the room was clean and fresh, bathroom a bit tired but ok, however several things need addressing, we had no hot water in our room …. Not acceptable, we ran the tap over the sink for 15 mins and cold water, when we complained the next morning someone came to our room and explained situation, he then turned on the hot taps to the bath and sink and shower and eventually after in excess of 10 minutes we go hot water …….. not acceptable now we paid around £150 for one night with breakfast and one of the basics should be a hot water system that we don’t have to wait half the morning to utilise!!!!! The evening before we utilised the restaurant with a pre booking……. We both had steaks (not the best) one was seasoned to death, we did complain…. Pointless ! One steak was supposed to be medium rare was cooked to well done ….. raised that as an issues again Pointless, we order sweets one was fine the other was some sort of an excuse for a pavlova ! Something that identified as nothing more than a lidle meringue with squirty cream !!’ Not good . A beautiful location but has left us saddened All these issues were raised…

I had a gift voucher for the hotel from Christmas. I decided to take my daughter for a mother / daughter day at the spa. The spa was wonderful- pool, jacuzzi and treatment. We then went to the bar for an afternoon tea ( part of our package). The food was wonderful. Tasty and varied and very fresh. We enjoyed a bottle of bubbles too. HOWEVER we tried to finish our day with a cocktail. We chose from the menu and the bar did not have the ingredients for 3 of them. After 20 minutes we did get a cocktail. Sex on the beach. Looked like 2 different cocktails!! Think some of the ingredients were missing. Such a shame as this just put a damper on our day out. I would not expect a 4 star hotel to not be able to make a cocktail.
