Owners Edda and Ubaldo are so warm--service is incredible, from beginning to end. B&B is located inside a charming piazza in Pignone, tucked away from the tourist craze of Cinque Terre but still very much in it all. Special place affording a unique Italian experience. Must do.

We stayed at La Meridiana in Pignone, Italy (about 10 km north of Le Spezia). We intentionally chose a B & B outside of any major urban area and were delighted to find La Meridiana. It's in the small village of Casale, north of Pignone, and is very quiet. The hosts are wonderful people and the breakfasts are great. They gave us a lot of tips on where to travel, including the best ways of visiting the Cinque Terre. They also gave us tips on towns and areas not frequented by tourists. If you want to take the train from Le Spezia to the Cinque Terre it's only about a half hour drive on country roads from La Meridiana- and it was so nice to come "home" to a quiet village after the tourist nightmare in the Cinque Terre. The room was absolutely marvelous and quiet - with excellent wi-fi. Our GPS (Google Maps) took us right to where we parked our car. We want to go back to Casale and La Meridiana in the future. We strongly recommend you stay here.

This place rightly gets very good reviews for the breakfast and the friendly hosts. I endorse these, and note that staying here is relatively cheap compared to many places. To me one of the greatest attractions is the very beautiful location of the village, the Ligurian hills are fragrant and full of flowers and birdsong, and there is an attractive small stream running through the village. To be fair, it has to be noted that there is a sawmill nearby in the valley and that this is burning wood most days, the smoke can reduce the air quality. I also should note that there is nowhere in the village to buy anything, no food or drink is available without a drive (there are cans in the fridge in the room though). The Lodge is a good nearby restaurant, but some others nearby are pretty disappointing. Our room had a balcony with a table and chairs, very pleasant, but with a view mostly of the adjacent buildings. The facilities in the rooms were basic, although all essentials were present. The bed was not the most comfortable I can recall. There was no problem parking in the village square. I don't want to create the impression that I was not pleased to stay here. I just wanted to inject some realism into the review stream. We spent two days visiting La Spezia, Portovenere, and the Cinque Terre villages; I'm sure you will enjoy your time staying at La Meridiana.

I, my wife and our 6 months old baby stayed there for three nights in Sep16. Before booking we read the reviews, thought it was overrated. Cleaning is most important since we have a baby with us. After staying there, I can say; Perfect hosts, perfect location, perfect B&B. The rooms are very clean, breakfast and cakes were excellent. All facilities at the room are working properly. The hosts are doing their best to make you happy. Strongly recommended.

We pretty much agree with all the positive reviews on this B&B. The hosts are just the nicest people you'll ever meet. The breakfast was simply WOW!! But you do need good GPS to find it. Once on our way back after a full day visiting Cinque Terre, the GPS pointed us to a village street so narrow that we scratched our rental car. The lesson here is this: as soon as you find yourself in very very narrow street, don't continue. There are better roads / streets to get to the hotel.

We were looking for an apartment in this area and found this lovely apartment with it's good recommendations. And we can confirm them all in 100 %! The place is cozy - small but nice. You can the nature around by walk. If you come here to visit the Cinque Terre a car is very useful. The La Meridiana is a very nice and lovely arranged house. Our room is very spacious and very clean. The bed is comfortable, the bathroom is also spacious and very clean - just perfect! Breakfast: nothing more to say: as expected it was perfect :-). We loved it and gonna miss it in every other place in Italy :-D Now I come to the best part of my review: Edda and Ubaldo. They are the perfect hosts and doing the La Meridiana with heart and soul. They were interested in us, available for any question and just heartwarming! Go there, relax and enjoy - it's perfect :-)

The room was very spaceous and had a big bed normal size bathroom with shower, wifi router in the room. We stayed on the 3 floor. There were also a couch a refrigerator and a desk. The couple ho owns the place are fantastic! They did not speak much english but it did not matter. Very frendly the breakfast was great and Edda baked every night so there were fresh cakes in the morning. also you got italian coffie, ham, different kinds of chesse, youghurt and so on. The are is a bit from the bigger cities and i advice you to have a car. The parking for guests i free. The owners also are very informative even though they did not speak good english. The place is a good starting point to reach all the destinations, it took about 15-20 min to monterosso al mare, and from there you can take the train to the other coast cities.

I drove through Italy in May, 2015 and my last stop before returning to Rome and back home was Cinque Terre. Since this is a popular tourist destination, I had my pick of accommodations. I don't know why I settled on LaMeridiana B & B. Perhaps it was the rustic pictures of the home. When I approached Cinque Terre, I needed my GPS to find little Pignone, which is in the hills about 20 minutes from Monterrosso. La Meridiana was another ten minutes beyond Pignone. But when I saw the tiny little village of Casale, I was entranced. Like virtually every Italian town and village, there was a chiesa, a church and the village was cute and compact. A brook gurgled alongside the village on its way to the Sea and the 400-year old house that would be my stay for a few days was on the edge of the village. Even though my Italian was almost non-existent, I'd managed to get around Italy pretty well. When I pulled into the B & B, the owners, Edda and Ubaldo, greeted me warmly in Italian. It turned out that she spoke very little English and he spoke almost none. Nevertheless, she was able to tell me all I needed to know about getting around Cinque Terre, where to eat, all about the boat that went from town to town and that was all I needed. And the food served for breakfast was a feast and a delight. I couldn't have asked for more gracious hosts and better accommodations for my last few days in Italy. I left that wonderful country on a very high note and plan to return soon.

We stayed with Edda and Ubaldo for a couple of nights and we don't know how to describe this to reflect the family feeling we got from them. We had a few challenges with our trip and they took such lovely care of us. When we were stranded Ubaldo drove us to the City and even though we offered he wouldn't take any money from us. Great place, great breakfast and lovely people - we will definitely come back!
