Wow! We spent 5 days at this amazing place. All the staff are genuinely so friendly and make you feel so welcome and at ease from the moment you arrive. The views are beautiful and you really are blown away but the fabulous setting. We were warmly welcomed by Francesco who showed us to our room. We stayed in a superior room (4) this was a lovely room, with a nice bathroom. There is good aircon and a mini bar. (The room is made up daily)
We headed straight to the terrace and had a few drinks and soaked up the Tuscan sun and view. The views really are great! The pool is a great size and you can enjoy the peace and quiet there.

The restaurant!!!
5 star food and 5 star service. The chefs will cook truly lovely food with fresh local produce to a really high standard. Every meal we had was gorgeous.
Now, the true gem of this place for us was Claudia, she looked after us each night and made our stay extra special with her warmth and kindness. She is amazing!!! And she introduced me to Grappa👌 thank you Claudia.

Breakfast, fab! Looked after so well by the lovely lady who makes the best coffee! Amazing view from the terrace if the weather allows.

Honestly I cannot fault the Poggio Borgoni at all. We were looked after so well and made to feel at ease and welcome. The food and wine is brilliant and service is great. We will be back. We are so grateful to everyone at the Poggio for an amazing stay. Thank you.

25 km south of Florence, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, the very quiet "Relais Poggio Borgoni" awaited us with an outdoor pool and a traditional restaurant. The car can be left in the car park free of charge.

After a 30-minute drive from the Relais, you can reach the famous wine cellars in Greve in Chianti and Barberino. Siena is 56 km away.

We were received at the reception super friendly and competent with very good English skills. Although the restaurant was closed on our arrival day, Conseulo treated us to Tuscan specialities and choice local wine.

Our double-storey room was equipped with terracotta floors, antique furniture, air conditioning, minibar, private bathroom with hairdryer and toiletries, as well as satellite TV and free Wi-Fi.

At the great and very lovingly prepared breakfast, we were allowed to strengthen ourselves at the buffet with freshly baked cakes, fruit and cappuccino.

The great quality of this very beautifully designed and maintained facility is the staff. We would like to thank Consuelo and Francesco, who helped us with words and deeds and thus contributed to a very successful holiday.

Grazie mille, saremo felici di tornare!

We don't usually write reviews, but for Poggio Borgoni we want to make an exception.

For us, Poggio Borgoni was the true Tuscan (holiday) experience we were looking for: a beautiful location with a great view and pool, where the scent of lavender and thyme makes you forget about the daily rat race and makes you wonder about a simpler life.

The food is prepared with fresh, local products & accompanied with quality wine (which they make from their own harvest). Again, this all with a priceless view on Tuscan valley.

The Staff is polite and helpful; when our Vespa broke down during the Chianti tour, they even went out of their way to pick us up.

They deserve the full 5 star review & we recommend this place to everybody that wants to escape reality under the bright Italian sun.

Keep doing what you're doing!

Greets,

Dageraad & Tom

Very relaxing place. Nice rooms (although maybe not spacious enough for us) Good bathrooms. One gripe. If you use the fridge for anything but storing their own drinks you will incur a 3 euro a day charge. So we did use the fridge but removed our drinks in the morning. This is so typical in Italy. Petty rules that make no sense. The Italians Plumb new depths when it comes to Red tape. It’s no wonder I heard Italy described as worse than Greece and Europe’s Achilles heel. Also the swimming cap rule is bonkers, haven’t come across this anywhere else on our trip. I will say the staff were all very nice and helpful, fine parking tips given on Florence. I’d give 5 stars but the Fridge usage is a joke. Castello Vicchiomaggio gives you a whole fridge.

Dear Thomas, Thank you for taking the time to review our Relais and for the compliments ... we are very happy that you spent 2 nights in a relaxing way. I would like to point out that the use of the swimming cap in the pool is due to the regulation given for the Covid19 situation, such as the use of the mask in closed places and the distance to keep in order not to create gatherings. As for the minibar and your considerations about Italy, they are a personal opinion that we do not agree. In case you haven't been there, I still suggest you visit Greece ... it's a beautiful island with a wonderful sea, full of history and culture. We wish you a good day, Regards Katia

We stayed for 4 nights at Poggio Borgoni and enjoyed it very much. The stuff was very friendly and the surrounding and our room very clean and well maintained.
The only downer was the breakfast: For dinner they had an excellent type of bread, but the choice of bread and other things (for example jam, cheese, ...) for breakfast was not so exciting. That could be improved.

Dear Nadine, We thank you for sharing your experience at Relais Poggio Borgoni and we are happy that you had a pleasant stay. I am sorry for the breakfast that didn't live up to your expectations but unfortunately this year due to the regulations on covid-19 we have had to 'retrofit' certain products with commercial solutions with yourself stressed. I hope there will be new opportunities to have you back as our welcome guest, Yours sincerely Katia

We stayed for 4 nights at the beginning of April at this lovely small site. The light rain and early spring fresh air that welcomed us at the first moment, create a wow response. It was beyond our expectation.
We liked everything. The welcoming, the traveling tips from the staff, the conversations with Francesco and the other staff members.
Sitting outside in the morning or at the end of a long day trip overlooking at the beautiful valley below was a great experience as well.
The location and the site character enabled us the have true Tuscan experience we were looking for.
Thanks very much to you Francesco and your staff.

We were here for the third time. A very special place. Small wonderful place with a familiar atmosphere. Very nice and service-oriented stuff. Great breakfast and dinner.
The highlight is the hot-air balloons that are rising in the air in the morning at 6:30 close to the Relais which you can watch when getting up early.

Just 12 kilometers from Florence and 50 from Siena and San Gimingnano, in the middle of the Chianti Valley, this peaceful place deserves a high recommendation. Breathtaking views, confortable and clean bedrooms, nice pool, very good buffet breakfast. Claudia, Paolo and his family will make you feel at home. They are also very helpful in giving suggestions, maps and information on where to go and recommend wonderful restaurants nearby.Price (140 Euros) seems reasonable for a 4 stars hotel. Hope to come back soon!

Dear , thanks for contacting us. Our Relais has 8 dbl rooms + 1 Junior Suite and it's a very romantic and intimate location for a little nice wedding. Florence is about 16km from Our Relais and the taxi cost is Euro 50.00/60.00 per way from 1 to 4 people. Apologize but we don't have a private shulttle service, but we can arrange a car with driver, the costs are aprox the same of the taxi. Yours Sincerely Katia

Is there a winery nearby for a tour and wine tasting and how far?
San Casciano in Val di Pesa, Italy1 contribution
Dear, our Relais is located in the Chianti aerea so there are a lot of winery that you can visit here around, the closest one is the Antinori, or Villa Le Corti.
San Casciano in Val di Pesa, Italy1 contribution
Dear, there's no public transport close to hotel that you can reach walking so it's necessary to have an own car for moving around. Then with car you can reach the village of San Casciano and from here take the public transport for going in Florence. Yours Sincerely Katia
